The only people who refuse to recognize that this prosecution is purely politically motivated are the partisan hacks.

So, all you got is an ad hominem attack? Your self-delusionary superiority complex is laughable.

Wrong. I'm trying to find out if there is a more compelling counter argument.
On Trump, I have yet to see anything the remotely comes close to a more compelling counter argument that convinces me his is worthy of a second term. I am open, however, which is why I continue to post.
Your comment has an assumed premise. You seem to disagree with me a lot, thus I could easily levy the same charge against you, but that's not the kind of foolish argument I would ever make. Everyone is tribal, and those that aren't, in my view, tend to be wishy washy. Not my crowd.
Wrong. Trump is a criminal. Priority #1 is to prosecute him and put him away. The election is irrelevant.
You don't know what I need, nor could you possibly know.
No, priority #1 is to prosecute Trump, who is a threat to US National Security.

A candidate's personal life is relevant to the job of the US President.

    That's not a counter argument.

Please find a real counter argument, avoid the items in my sig, or try.

    Thank you.

Trump is not a threat to our national security. He’s not the one allowing the free flow of terrorists from all over the world into the U.S.

Trump is not the one who has destroyed America’s energy independence.

Please read the OP, and provide a counter argument, a real one, and to do that, review my sig and exclude any item that comports to the items in the sig, as this will make a more disciplined, more substantive, more structured argument. I ask folks to do this because I find responding to disciplined arguments much more fun. Remember, I'm not telling you, I'm asking.

    Or give it some thought.

    Thank you.

    Au contraire..

Trump most certainly is a threat to US National Security.

    How so?

Well, let me count the ways.

    Due to.....(substantiation provided on request)

His debt to foreign banks is a national security threat.

His incessant undermining public faith in elections is a national security threat.

His incessant assertion that the press is the enemy of the people undermine public confidence in the very thing that protects them from tyranny, i.e., a vigorous and free press, which is a threat to liberal democracy, and a national security threat.

His contempt of congress and obstruction of justice is a threat to national security

His attempt to use the DOJ for political ends is a threat to national security

His hiring lobbyists to the cabinet posts they fought against is a threat to national security

His failure to grasp the seriousness of climate change is a threat to national security ( this is the big one)

His gutting the state department, leaving half of the ambassadorships unfilled is a threat to national security

His hiring of incompetent persons is a threat national security.

His incompetence handling Covid is a threat to national security

His unprecedented turnover in the white house is a threat to national security

His tendency to hire sycophants/yes men, and fire those who speak truth to power is a threat to national security.

His lack of knowledge of US history, lack of knowledge of civics, and many things along these lines, is a threat to national security

His arrogance and total lack of empathy, and total lack of humility, plus the above, means he is unfit for the job and his unfitness is a threat to national security.

His nepotism is a threat to national security.

His spending too much time watching TV and tweeting and playing golf is a threat to national security ( well, it's not good, let's just say that much )

His imposing tariffs which caused farmers to permanently lose markets is a threat to national security

His corruption, bilking of the US Taxpayer to the tune of $16 million from entourage stays in his hotels and resorts, all of which his family has profited and his nepotism, allowing his daughter in law to win millions of dollars worth of China trademarks while he was negotiating with China, his allowing Jared to garner a $500 million bailout from QATAR, all of which is a threat to national security

His nauseating fawning over Putin whose objective is to destroy and/or greatly diminish America's standing in the world, is a threat to national security

His incessant egregious lying, i.,e., "Truth Decay" is a threat to national security

His usurping the Senate by appointing 'acting' heads of departments of whom the president is supposed to appoint and be confirmed by the Senate, the acting heads cause more instability and decrease of moral in the rank and file in those departments,is a threat to national security

His firing of Comey, which was detrimental to the morale of the rank and file of the FBI, and Trump's scapegoating the FBI, and undermining a once trusted American institution (post Hoover, of course). is a threat to national security

His acquiescing to Erdogan by allowing DOJ to interfere in US Attorney's office investigation of a Turkish bank because it will adversely affect members of Erdogan's family, noting that Erdogan tried to do it with Obama, and his DOJ refused, but Erdogan is finding Trump a pliant president, noting that Trump abandoning the kurds, who were instrumental in helping us in the Iraq war, whose members died for America, Trump did this to appease Erdogan, whereupon the vacuum that that pull out created forced the Kurds to turn to Russia, thus increasing Russia's influence in the region, noting that Trump has property in Turkey, is a threat to national security

His decision to begin the process of withdrawing the United States from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty will end an arms control agreement with Russia that has been a centerpiece of European security since the Cold War. The move, meant to penalize Russia for noncompliance, is likely to alarm the international community, particularly Europe, and cause fears that the US and Russia could enter a new nuclear arms race is a threat to national security

His pulling out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, A massive trade deal meant to counteract China's economic power. Trump ran on a promise to spike the plan, saying it was unfair to American workers. The pact was never officially adopted by Congress. The other 11 nations have carried on without the US, the void this pullout caused allowed China to gain considerable influence over international Trade in the affected regions. The partnership was an agreement that was the result of many years of negotiation is a threat to national security

His pullout of the Iran nuclear deal. Despite criticism, the deal bought America about 15 years of time to work on ways to thwart their development of nukes, and without the deal, they are restored to their pre-agreement abilities, with one difference, their money in banks, which was frozen, is now in their hands, so we don't have the benefit of the agreement nor the benefit of the freeze on their funds is a threat to national security

His receiving a $500 million dollar loan from Deutsche Bank while simultaneously a deposit that amount was made to that bank, the money coming from a Russian state bank ( which means Putin controlled ) which makes Trump beholden to Putin, which explains his refusal to criticize Putin, or do much about Russian election interference is a threat to national security.

His 'tax cut' which was nothing more than largesse for the superrich, and crumbs for everyone else thus causing deficits to careen to levels history has never seen is a threat to national security

His repeal of many important environmental regulations is a threat to national security.

And this is just scratching the surface.

Nonsense. Just ONE example is your B.S on tax cuts - the Treasury reported that the cuts benefited 95% of those that actual had a balance to pay. Of course, your actual saving depends on your total tax due. Why that is such a hard concept for libs is a mystery.

I don't believe that. Not at all. Obama is a bought politician just like the others, just a much better talker. He never had any interest in bringing universal single payer health care in and undercutting the health insurance lobby. Very very few would go there given the ease of buying politicians, the lack of laws preventing it, and the lack of transparency, Bernie being the only one at that time.

Not so different from how Democrats think. Its polarization to the extreme, the result of the two party system, and the corolarry to rants like we've seen from you on this forum.

They are bought, and have their base to pander to. If the Democrats opposed universal health care, the Republicans may be for it, as Romney was when it was Romneycare. Its a sad sad tribalism gone crazy thing.

That's not true. He could have gotten much much more done had he and the Democrats wanted to. They didn't want to. They wanted to appear to want to, to get votes. Same reason Trump never built the big wall. He doesn't actually want to. He wants the issue alive so he can rant on it and get votes.

The actual right and left maybe, but not these political parties. It isn't what they are actually about. It is what they want you to think they are about. What they are really about is money and power. It's why we have the likes of Pelosi getting rich off of insider trading, etc.

Bullshit. Biden is sending the money and weapons to Nettenyahu that kills the innocents in Gaza. His doubletalk is one big reason he may lose the election, by losing support of those on the left against this insanity. Biden is more worried about losing the Israel lobby and its funding than he is about preventing deaths in Gaza. Biden could VERY easily get Nettenyahu to stop what he's doing there, since the US funds and protects Israel and Israel is so dependent on the US. This will be obvious to everybody a decade from now, when the blinders come off, just like how now the vast majority can see that the invasion fo Vietnam was wrong and Bush Jr's wars were wrong. Claims that college students (many of them Jewish) protesting are all about anti-semitism is the new version of the WMDs in Sadam Hussein's hands lie.

Hamas top leadership isn't even in Gaza. And some Hamas fighters hiding behind hospitals doesn't justify murdering mostly civilians, funded by your tax dollars with Biden's tacit approval (he continues to support sending the arms).

When trotting out the "Israel has a right to exist" mantra, you need to define what you mean by it. Opposing it conjures up visions of the slaughter of all of the Israelis, but it could simply mean a change to the current regime and a splitting off of some land for Palestinians, since Nettenyahu's party declares Israel as being from the river to the sea (another phrase that is amorphous depending on who says it and who interprets what they say (often disingenuously)).

That's not true. Its more about first past the post voting than not having a parliament. For decades here in Canada there were only two viable parties and people would vote for one to keep the other out of power. Even now that we have a coalition on the left, that's mostly still true. But we do lack the same level of partisanshp and vitriol that you have in the US. Its not beause of parliament. Its becaue of culture and yes, some systemic factors, which can change, some with and some without changes to a constitution of a country.

I doubt that very much. You have ammended your constituion before.

The boat is already sinking. Trump is likely to win the next election, again, because of polarization and him representing a middle finger to the Democrat Party and insider poltics in general. Systemic change is needed if you want to save it.

I don't thin many if any did for that reason. Bernie supporters simply saw Trump as another outsider and Hillary as a political insider. Trump was a hand grenade to the system that needs to be torn down, and many Bernie supporters saw that. The hope was that after a Trump administration things may reform. Sadly, Biden, yet another political insider was chosen to go up against him. Biden beat Trump once because Trump was exposed as a false populist (you got that right) and went along with establishment insiders telling him what to do, but Biden is likely to lose to him the second time, as its clear the lesson hasn't been learned and another grenade to thesystem may be necessary, and Trump has turned on just about everyone and may not go along with establishment insiders this time around. It may be horrible, or it may be great. Things have gotten to the point that more and more people are willing to roll the dice.

Not by itself, no. But it may play a factor again. The main factor that would lead to Trump win in 2024 is the Democrat's choice of candidate in Biden, after having no primary, after the Israel debacle losing him a ton of support (people who won't vote for Trump, but will stay home), and after showing himself to be borderline senile.

None of it will matter so long as you keep pushing the polarization and tribalism.
