Would it take a military intervention to do it? Or could it be done simply by lobbying the Ukraine, Russia, and the EU for the independence of Ukraine's Zakarpatie Oblast? I think the 0.5M people that live in that region would greatly benefit from the reintegration into the western style trade schemes, such as the heritage of Poland and Austria-Hungary and EU integration. What do you think?
At the moment I guess nobody much in Ukraine is in love with Russia . Tell the people about the big Cheese scandal and how Russia is trying to railroad Ukraine into its Custom scheme .
There was a post here some time ago, that if the ultra-nationalist Gallicians in Lviv can be made to blow their tops and start fighting for an independent Gallicia, then Russia would support the independent Routhenia. What's your take?
I don't have the full picture, but to my understanding, it would be the country borders of the independent Gallicia and Routhenia that would be on top of the Karpathian mountains, and west of that border would be Routhenia, whos people have never been Gallician, but a different nation. I don't know if asking the Gallician ultra-nationalists is useful, because the power of any decision about country borders is in Moscow. How would Moscow do this, in your opinion?
Once Ukraine will lose its value as a potential instability threat for Russia - it will dissolve into several states. Ruthenia will be a possibility.
