Violent crime in the US and the state's inability to cope with it has led to CCW and "stand you ground" laws. The above crime is another example of the weak being attacked by the children of the progressive welfare state.

The truth is that progressives do not give a fig, if you are a violent crime victim unless you are a select minority group. If a gay couple or blacks were attacked like this by whites, then the Lefties would be here howling with political rage.

The answer is dread, morality, and family. Criminals need to dread the criminal justice system and the lawful again. People need to have a moral system instead of the Left's moral corruption. As far as I am aware, the American justice system far outweighs other countries with it's longer prison sentences and treatment of criminals doing time. It doesn't seem to have made a difference, so that's not the answer.

There actually is an answer but it costs a fortune to implement. It is to ensure that the welfare system is only available to those that genuinely qualify for it and as a consequence, take out all the scroungers and put them under government supervised employment. I dare say, in doing that, the unions would go gaga with fury but if society is to improve, such actions are necessary.

With regard to morality and family values, these have been lost over the years due to lax teaching. I'm not claiming it's down to the quality of the teachers but the continued devaluation of schooling under the pretext of human rights. A prime example would be a story from the UK today:

Until governments come to terms with human rights not being the support of the perpetrator but instead the victim, nothing will change so I don't expect to see any change for the better at any time in the future.

 

I wanted to see, if the progressive outrage would be the same as it was in the 5 Zimmerman/Martin threads. Clearly, it has not been. So, I have a question. Why is Martin's questionable death (it may be murder and it may not be) much more important than the 85 year old woman's rape and murder to the Left?
