If you could move anywhere out of your own country, where would you move?

For me I'd say either Italy or Japan.

Reason why is because I am Italian and it seems like an interesting place and Japan even though the nuclear stuff happened I always wanted to go to Japan because it seems like an awesome place. The cities and the scenary and I would love to see a tea shrine. The culture also I really like.

    Japan or Germany...
I speak neither language fluently, but the folks in both those countries are no non-sense...which I can appreciate.

I would also consider merry old England, because I like the Brits..and of course Canada.

Japan would be my first choice however.

Japan would be my first choice also. I really love the culture, the food, and the sites look really cool. Seems like there would be always something to do.

call it arrogance if you wish but I travel the world for business and there is no place like the USA. Sure, there is lots of tourist stuff in other countries but the USA is still a free nation (barely)

I disagree. I think that America is still the greatest place on earth. Sure we have our faults, but isn't that part of the whole picture. Nobody and no place is perfect. The government can take away a lot of things from us but they can never stiffle the thought that is freedom. And that is why ladies and gents tha we will never be beaten by any one, any where and at any time.

I agree. I also agree with the poster above, that having traveled very widely this is the loveliest place I have been. The weather here is the issue. But our secret is that it keeps the tourist numbers down and keeps the country full of wide empty spaces for those of us who love that.

I do like Quebec though. And the South of France.

Ireland, Scotland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Australia, and New Zealand. I'd write these names on small pieces of paper, put them in a hat, shake them up, pick one... and adios!

Germany for me. Market socialism at its finest.

Hard working well educated people, who save and invest rather than splurge on tax cuts while providing for each other and still having more rich people than you can shake a dirty stick at.

Thats why the US and UK go wrong, theyre so concerned about short term plasters for keeping both rich people and very poor people happy they get themselves into debt.

Germans solved many of their problems years ago, not everyone goes to Uni, but everyone gets a useful education. Public transport investment continues and they are world leaders in green tech.

We brits and americans have alot to learn.

The Netherlands. I'll be heading there in my retirement years ago, but if I had a chance to earlier, I'd take it.

If I were to move from Wales (which isn't very likely!), Scotland would certainly be my first choice. Fabulous country with some of the best scenery in the world (much under-rated by many), and the weather there is every bit as good as it is here!

Not sure I would. Most of the world sucks. America's like the only good country. India might be pretty cool.

Canada first choice. Yes the winters are tough, I've spent three winters there and had to come back home to thaw my jaws out. But winter and seasonal-affective disorder aside (oh and the Harper govt) it would be my choice due to its proximity to Europe for vacations and it's sense of society.

Probably Senegal, Guinea or Mali. The food is spicy, the weather is nice, the music is interesting and the women are rather nice-looking. Might be a bother to learn French or Malinka, though.

I had a good time in Germany and I speak decent German, but it is just too bloody COLD their. I'm an old man, and winter makes my fingers and knees hurt.

Probably Australia. In spite of their ridiculous accents, that is the country that is most like the US (more so than Canada in my opinion), only with really weird looking animals. Plus, the Australians seem an extremely likable people.
