Gut Level Honesty Time: I remember in my 20's, dating women who were great for showing off to friends but inside, they weren't what I was really attracted to. I actually found curvy gals more attractive but like clothing, they weren't "in style". I know that's horrible but like I said, gut level honesty time. Ah the fragile male ego and foibles of our youth! It was as if men were told NOT to be attracted to women with curves - which is complete bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Turns out that there have been numerous studies done by psychologists that PROVE, subconsciously, men like women who are built like, well, like women! Me too! Every year, mens magazines like Maxim etc... always do surveys to determine the 100 Sexiest Women of All Time. The results are always the same: 99 women will be whoever is hot or popular in the movies that year. But one woman shows up on every poll, every time - frequently at the top. Marilyn Monroe. During her career, she was between sizes 12 and 16. Usually a 12 - 14. If only women knew what men really like! Healthy and fit? Sure, but hopefully her arms and legs aren't tighter and more cut than ours! Built like a board? No thanks. Curvy and feminine? There's no denying it! If you're a woman with curves, DON'T try to duplicate the impossible standards shown in women's magazines etc... Seriously, it's not what we like best anyway!
I think as you grow older, you want to find a women who's hand you can hold. I realize the importance of physical beauty and raw sex, but relationships are all about holding hands, and that is nice.
That's one of the primary reasons that Anna Nicole Smith became such a sensation - she was a busty, buxom, large woman! At the time of her appearance in Playboy as the May 1992 centerfold, the "heroin chic" look was in - little, thin, almost anorectic-looking women, with arms and legs that looked like toothpicks. Along comes this big, busty, curvy blonde from Texas who readily admitted she wanted to be the next Marilyn Monroe! She became 1993 Playmate of the Year, and her career skyrocketed from there. There's something I remember reading in psychology class about how men are attracted to larger women because they view them as being more capable of taking care of the children - this goes back to our caveman ancestors.
There's actually a mathematical formula for the proportions which men find most attractive... it's not skinny....but I wouldn't say Anna nicole smith meets the ideal... She was a little on the heavy side.
I saw that on the Discovery Channel. I think that if the waist is like 15%+ smaller than the hips, it sends a message to the male brain that goes something along the lines of "Me Likey!"
Sad to say...as much as we would like to think love is in our control ...it's actually chemical; based on visual cues long since imprinted on our DNA... of course true love is another matter....I'm more referring to lust..and lust is for sure...chemically based. I don't know of very many guys who would find the ultra-skinny model types as sexually attractive...the clothes designers like them is all.
We've got enough troubles here, Herk, please don't accuse him of being from The Magnolia State! Thanks!
Ok...bum-****, Missouri. Apologies to Mississippians... the phrase is actually BFE...bum-****, Egypt...but I figured the guy was not all that bright to begin with..so why bother spilling irony on him on top of cultural ignorance. I actually posted the photo as humor...but the guy got all insulting... Oh well...I suppose his trailer court just got Wi-Fi or something.
I remember when the '90s kicked in and I started wondering where all the hot girls on tv went. The ones from the '80s had ridiculous hair and terrible fashion sense, but they were all nice and curvy. By the turn of the millennium, there wasn't anything left on tv worth fantasizing about. It was all these skinny little boyish women with no tits. Sucks too because those were my adolescent years. Should have been a golden age.
I like curvy women......and ones with not as many curves. The move towards skinny was a women thing- skinny models look better in clothes. Like all fashion stuff, its women driven.
Ummm ... excuse me, Spotty, but that's a real caveman opinion.... I'm 5'2", always had a small frame and did everything for my kids that big mamas do for theirs...... I wonder where those knuckle-dragging neanderthals ever got that idea?
I don't think he's referring to height. I wrote the OP and my wife is only 5' tall. I think he's referring to, well look at the girl on the right in the photo of the OP. That.
Psychology class was almost 30 years ago, but as I remember the theory it was that men prefered larger women because being larger implied she had access to food and resources, and that implied she would be better able to feed and provide for children. Supposedly this went back to the caveman days when food and resources were scarce. Like I said earlier, it was a theory - nothing more.
Men like women with accentuated breasts, tiny waist and nice curvy hips. Nothing much changes. It's human nature.
I understand - was just giving you a hard time about your psychology course about large women vs small women back in the caveman days...... it kinda surprised me.
Big tits subconsciously register as providing more nourishment for the young and wide hips register as providing ample space for the child to grow in utero. Don't worry. You're not being singled out. Nature has the same type of system for both genders. Why do you think women are attracted to tall men and men with money? Those things subconsciously register as him being a good protector/provider. All of those male/female standards are designed to produce the healthiest offspring possible and give it the greatest chance of survival. Nothing more.
As I remember the essence of the lecture, it was that men and women are hard-wired by nature to look for certain things in a potential mate. When times are good, this selectivity kinda gets pushed aside, but when times are tough we tend to revert back to the old-school ways - at least that's the theory as I remember it.
40% of the female population in America is classifed as clinically obese. In 1982 it was 5%. Are you seriously trying to say that we men should accept constantly declining standards of beauty from women? While women in no way have to accept declining standards of attractiveness in men? That sounds pretty sexist to me. Men are not attracted to sticks. Models are nothing more than human mannequins and are not meant to be a standard of attractiveness. There ARE however universal standards of beauty. 40% of the women in America are now obese and are basically unattractive to most males, shrinking the pool of attractive females for men. Why should men have to suffer with declining standards of beauty because women don't want to control their own eating habits? Frankly I'm tired of hand wringing by women saying that men are evil for refusing to accept fat tubs of lard as mates. Either keep yourself trim or **** and accept the fact you are fat amd good for nothing but a quick pump and dump by attractive males. Men are evolutionarily designed to go for LOOKS, plain and simple. We mostly don't care how smart you are. We'll take a dumb piece of arm candy before we'll settle for a genius "plain jane" or fatty. To expect a man to lower his standards, standards that are hardwired into his brain evolutionarily, in order to appease the 40% of women who are feeling self esteem issues at being pumped and dumped by men constantly is crazy.
I agree in part with Silicon. The fatter you are, the less attractive you become. If women continue to get fat, men are not going to be interested in them, it is that simple. To keep yourself available, be healthy. Its okay to carry a few pounds, but when you carry a huge spare tyre, there is a problem. I am not skinny and I am not fat either. I am a size 14 which is considered overweight by some, but I am actually a decent size for my height. I have been at both ends of the scale, I have been extremely thin and I have been the size I am now, and I know what I prefer!
I don't know where this is coming from but for this bisexual all women are beautiful except lesbian dyke identifiers who go out of their way to destroy any feminine traits they were born with ,they dress think and act like men very unattractive almost anti-feminine.And they hate any curves .
You be like you want and feel unpressured by the advertising industry feminine is good curves and such are cuddly goody good as are thinner as variety is the spice of life ,why women are slaves to mens fantasy's is beyond me.
