Yeah, works now. Last night was getting a 505 error. Google cache was fine. :D

I think I see the "strategy": they banned anyone who might be your ally. Now they can attack without restraint, though they seem to have taken a polite turn. Also expect "good cop, bad cop". No way are they interested in honest debate. But they will be tickled to pink to have "exposed" another "shill".

Well, I didn't have any issues with the forum until you showed up. I guess they picked up some sort of flag/issue with your IP, because obviously it wasn't me. I wonder who the caused them to become paranoid all of a sudden with me? Geez...that's a real brain twister.

There's no twist. You caused them to become paranoid with you because you interacted with them. They are paranoid people. You made the mistake of thinking they would leap at the chance to attack someone you think is a shill, and you got blindsided by the fact that the same paranoia applies to you. You're not part of their group, and since you're an outsider you must be against them. That's the logic employed by your fountain of truth.

This sums up their mentality nicely. They seem to be a close knit group of bat(*)(*)(*)(*) and don't want anyone to rock their boat.

They'll allow the occasional dissenter to register, but only to reinforce their followers paranoia: "See? Here's PROOF shills are trying to infiltrate the board!"

Additional thoughts: whatever scam this Phil guy is pulling, he's not thinking long term. He wants donations, but by labeling everyone who disagrees, or doesn't know, as a "shill", he's limiting his potential cash base. The people banned frivolously will spread the word they're all nuts.

This isn't a bad strategy if the goal is to consolidate loyalty of the select faithful who are "persecuted" because of their righteousness. Cults and extremist churches do that. But it's a stupid strategy if the only outlet is a website that you are trying to at least have pay for itself. He needs new blood(and their wallets) if he wants donations.

Or maybe he doesn't and the whole donations thing is a sham. Can't figure what the point would be though.

Seems to me discussion is allowed to progress to its natural conclusion for the most part. I'm posting there now. How about Dave?

You didn't have any issues until then because you didn't post. The truth is a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) sometimes, especially when one has a habit of constantly lying.

This assumes the natural course of forum discussions is to start by the board owner jumping on a newly registered member like a deranged nutcase.

I suspect the fact it's settled down has less to do with any "natural course" and more to do with discovering their actions are being observed by outsiders.

Well, in their defense, and despite your proclamations that shills don't exist...they do, any they've fine tuned their act so, newly registered is a flag, and should be heavily scrutinized, as it was.

By that logic all newly registered users are suspect. That's insane.

I don't recall saying shills don't exist. They do; mostly in marketing and political campaigns. A right-wing organization(possibly connected to Ron Paul) had one of their seminars leaked to YouTube where they shamelessly coached people in spamming lefty Amazon books, even if they hadn't read them. (I'll drop a link if I can find it).

But that's wildly different from forum spam, which DDave's thread was obviously not.

And even if it was, the absolute worst way to deal with it is the administrator confronting him like a paranoid loon. No one else was impressed except Phil cult followers and his incompetent moderators.

Do you agree that it's appropriate for moderators to publicly expose a user's ISP information? Would you like it if PF moderators did that to you?

It's not insane. It's paranoid a bit, admittedly, but understandable, given the lengths shills go to promote their agenda. Sometimes dealing with shills requires a different approach. Paranoia can be a good thing and I can understand his. I wouldn't like it but, I don't have to post there if I don't want to..like they often tell me here.

It's only understandable to people just as paranoid as they are

Not sure you have anything to base this on. I think you've accused everyone here you disagrees with you a "shill" at one point. Your perception of the quantities of bona fide shills trolling boards is a tad overblown methinks.

That's true, but the question wasn't if LRF mods did that to you. The question was if PF mods did that to you.

Notice the irony of a "shill" board treating you with more respect than a conspiracy board. Notice this.

    You're welcome.

But Phil accused YOU of being a shill. A CIA plant at that?

    How do you explain that?

I've been selectively filtered on occasion. I have to swallow that it's just the way it is here. You're probably going to tell me that doesn't happen now. Respect isn't what you're giving me right now. You can only control my comments in here and you want to appear fair to the unsuspecting reader is all this is.

No, I'm going to tell you it happens to everybody. I've had comments removed. Annoying? Sure. A sign of a grand conspiracy? No.

    How do you figure?

Last time I checked I was not made a moderator. So I don't understand how you figure I'm controlling your comments.
As for my forum habits, anyone can go to my profile post history if they're so inclined and check it.

You invited, er, challenged me to join. Remember? What did you think I was going to do?

That's what's wrong with your reasoning on 9/11 as well. You try and assign some sort of evil cause and effect to random events. I register and you can't log in and you think I had something to do with it. There were LOTS of people who could not log in.

Come to think of it, THEY didn't have any problems after I joined either. It wasn't until after YOU logged in for the first time since May 11th that the problem started.

So there must have been a problem with YOUR IP. You being CIA and all. 8)

Could be a coincidence, might not be. I doubt I'll ever know but, it's resolved now. This "CIA" stuff...that your attempt at humor or something else? Maybe you think if you just use "CIA" and myself together in one sentence, it'll stick? Funny sheet. Now I really AM wondering who it is you represent. I'll have to follow your posts more closely (purely for entertainment value, mind you).

It seems to be. Until you call in your CIA buddies to teach Phil some manners again.

    Don't you remember . . .

Phil thinks your CIA. And shortly after that, his forum got smacked with something. You don't think Phil will put two and two together? I mean these are the kinds of obvious connections that truthers make all the time. No visible office furniture in the debris pile. Therefore the towers HAD to be empty prior to 9/11. Get it?

    Plus you blasphemed

    .
You disagreed with one of Phil's great theories. That can't be sitting well with him.

Although I do have to give you credit for that. At least you don't seem completely crazy.
