Even without gas, if there had been civilians pulling out guns there would have been a lot more dead. an incident with a small group of people in a semi controllable environment is one thing. A crowded, dark theater room filled with 300 panicking people is a whole other ball game.

 

If it were just gun laws that needed to be changed, then that would be one thing, but gun laws will not change the behavior of people. For instance, Mexico has strict gun laws yet there is a war going on there. Those countries that have always had a low gun use rate that have banned guns have seen little difference in the use of guns in crime in their societies. In the US cultures also make a difference, for instance, the black community account for nearly 50% of gun crimes so there is something cultural going on that makes a difference.

For politicians, it seems to make them look like they care and are doing something but in effect, only disarm law abiding citizens instead of criminals while not solving any problem.

They caught the guy if there was only one so it will be some time before we may find out what the thinking was behind this tragedy.

 

I'm watching the coverage on FOXNEWS and their news people are just terrible. They are asking some of the dumbest question and just throwing out random ridiculous speculation. It is some of the worst reporting I have ever seen.

I would also suggest that the amount of crime reduced because you have access to firearms is miniscule in comparison with the embarrassingly vast number of killings, both deliberate and accidental, that your right to guns causes each year.
