Apparently ID didn't stop this woman, a data base did. No need for ID.

if she really did try to vote twice and wasn't the victim of some ACORN fraud, she should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

MI's voter ID law prevents this sort of thing. just saying.

Does every state and county use this database? Somehow i doubt this is on a national scale. I dont recall my name ever being run through a database to vote.

that would never work here. there are 5 people with my exact name in my state, and it's not even an easy to spell last name.

Yeah, and you notice it isn't a Democrat that committed it? Of course you didn't.

And, Photo ID wouldn't have prevented this case. ID only helps identify someone that is not the person registered that is trying to vote. She would have had a picture of herself, that probably looked like her, don't you think?

And aside from the other cases where Republicans were throwing away Democratic registrants, this is the only case I've heard of. I guess that would be considered "rare".

I didn't assume anything, just pointing out what most anti-democrats assume, generally, that it is Democrats that commit voter fraud.

Nobody likes voter fraud, I guess that is why we have very rare cases, which you also got wrong.

I didn't say you were. You need to read my posts more carefully.

And, yeah, Romney was bought by Wall Street and corporations. Obama was bought by Americans. You're absolutely right.

Get a clue people both sides do it. Having to show ID will help stop it.

We are having to show ID. And, there isn't that many cases of voter fraud where someone other than the person registered is trying to vote to justify spending millions of tax payer money to implement photo-id - the one or two cases at the most, if any, aren't going to make a difference. I'd rather spend my tax-paying money on something that is needed, like more voting machines that are secure and tamper-free.

MI ID law would do no such thing, this story is rather sketchy anyway. It doesn't really say if she tried to vote under her own name in two places but if that's the truth then ID would show nothing of how many times she voted.
Plus, she hasn't been convicted of anything yet, maybe did only try to vote once?

So why don't you and your fellow righties offer a REAL plan to prevent voter fraud?

Voter ID simply makes it hard for the elderly, the poor and the disabled to vote. its no coincidence these are usually Democrat voters.

REAL voter fraud measures would build the databases and identification systems we need to track the REAL voter fraud, which is the well-to-do voting at their summer AND winter homes, etc. It would be the SAME system that would STOP the hiring of illegals (if we were to jail the businessmen who do it.)

But Right Wingers BLOCK these effective systems EVERY SINGLE TIME. It would end so many of the Righties' financial fraud and voting scams if we did a national ID.

Oh sure, how many is that? I guess not enough are working in the White House, more want to work there, why they're supporting Romney.

No, he played the system like other politicians because it's impossible not to, but he did get far better grassroots donations from common people. That's undeniable.

Obama works the system to help Americans. Republicans work the system to help the 1%.

Well, I guess you found the ONE Republican who tried voter fraud.

But the Democrats use voter fraud as a way to win elections on a routine basis. They drag the mentally ill, the mentally handicapped, the senile to the polls and "help" them vote for Democrats. They register the dead, and their ghosts vote for Democrats. They throw Republican ballots in the river. They bully union members into voting for Democrats. It goes on and on.
