Does anyone apart from loonies think that that Republican party have a hope in hell to win in 2016? I believe that they have so many nuts in their ranks that they have no chance, one of them is bound to say something to offend a large majority of Americans because that is what they are really like. They hate poor people, black people,Latino people, people on welfare and so on. The only people they do not seem to hate are other gun loving racist fundamentalist fake Christians. So when you cannot with the majority of the American people they sure as hell are not going to vote for you. So I think that it will be all tears yet again in 2016.

They need to clean out both houses first.

The die-hards have had their day and didn't accomplish much but still want to hang on since they are convinced they had nothing to do with the GOP's downfall. But it's new young blood the GOP needs, such as Bobby Jindal and until they accept that and get out of politics altogether, the same lame proposals will be put forward to no avail.

The GOP have their hard core supporters but it's not them that they need to be concerned about. It's the independent voter and we all know which way they voted.

They'll end up finding themselves replaced by the Libertarian party most likely.

After 4 more years of Obama you democrats will have so many people relying on government assistance that it will be a permanent voting block for you. I don't think you'll ever see anyone other than a liberal in the WH again.

You mean relying on public schools and the things you've labeled "entitlements" then yea. Maybe the Right should stop being so extreme, it's the reason you aren't winning. Trim the fat, stop trying to cut the steak in half.

Well implementing voter ID will shave off a few million democrat votes right off the bat. By 2016 all the fruits will be married, and the druggies will be happily stoned, so the dems won't have those voting numbers. Hopefully OWS continues, and they all starve, freeze to death, or die of drug overdoses or AIDS. That'll eliminate a good chunk of their base. So yeah, I think Reps have a good chance in 2016.

The Republicans will run an Amish gentleman for the next election... Welcome to the Republican party, we hate homosexuals, Mexicans, druggies and freedom. We make our own butter though...

I have no doubt that the idea of more government assistance sounds good to you. It's the parasite class for a reason.

Not with the torrent of Mexicans coming into the country on a yearly basis. They're voting 70% Dem now, so the left will work even harder to do to them what they did to blacks. They'll try and buy other voting blocs as well.

They're more likely to win in 2016 than not. It's not often a challenger beats out a sitting president. As I said before I expected Obama to win re-election.

But the presidential trend has remained the same. It always switches hands. Republican, Democrat, Republican, Democrat. If trends continue on like they have for the past 50 years then we'll have another Republican president in 2016.

Obama won because he had a large share of white female voters. Why they voted for him is beyond me.

Also, a vast majority of Republican voters sat this election out. More people voted for McCain than for Romney and that's pretty telling.

The thing here is liberals today are in such a euphoric orgasm over their kings re-election that logic has escaped them and they're not looking at the facts but instead focusing on their "THE GOP IS DEAD" wet dream.

We'll most likely see Republican voters come out in droves come 2016.

If another Democrat is elected in 2016 THEN and ONLY THEN can we really start to discuss the state of the Republican party. But if another Republican wins then all is well with the Republican party and your dream of a dictator like left wing governement holding full uncontested power of the United States goes out the window.

By 2016 there will be a hispanic majority of voters in Texas. Another few million old republicans will have died in Florida. Without a massive voter suppression effort they will lose these states and with that any chance of winning a national election. It is also likely that they will field a candidate who is insane and that will be enough to scare away all the swing voters. Romney was a sort of double edged sword for them, he got a lot of swing votes because he was not a lunatic like all the others but his losing might give the crazies the upper hand for next time, which will get them trounced by a landslide.

You should really try reading a newspaper sometime.

Hispanic voters in Texas won't be a relevant voting block for a very, very long time.

Hispanics have been half the Texas population for some time now. Hell hispanics make up 50% of the population right now, yet Romney won Texas by an 80% margin.

I think your wet dream of a blue Texas is just that, a wet dream. Texas won't become a swing state in our lifetimes and even then it's a big if because it is after all Texas we're talking about here. I'd also like to point out the hispanics in my family both on my mother and fathers side of the family are I'd imagine to your surprise, Republican voters.

The problem is that Bush was the only president to win the election without winning the state of California since James Garfield in the 1800s, and Bush didn't even win by popular vote. I can't see any of the current crop of Republicans winning California, so they are going to have to seriously reorganize the party and rethink some of the issues on their platform if they want a real chance - if not then it would not surprise me at all if the Dems win in 2016.

That could be it. And I agree that whole "Legitimate Rape" and "God intended Rape" things were insanely stupid of them.

The Republicans need to drop this whole religious zealotry they're spewing as I feel their religious fervor is what's holding them back. But I may be biased as I'm an Atheist Republican. If they can drop this religious agenda then they can still win on all other issues like immigration and fiscal policy. Americans by and large agree with the Republicans on getting tough on immigration, but their religiously based message is turning people away and it's staling any good immigration or fiscal policies from passing.

I don't believe it was that high - Utah was about that high, but not Texas.

Republicans need some Hispanic votes to win again. Better get on board with some sort of immigration reform for that to happen.

Who cares if Republicans win if they have to adopt Democrat policies to compete?
