Sheriff Joe Arpaio Takes On Animal Abuse Published October 21, 2011 Uncategorized1 Comment Tags: Animal Abuse, animals, Arizona, Arpaio, boxers, inmates, jail, Maricopa, Pink Sheriff Joe, rescue, Tent City Sheriff Joe Arpaio, yes, that Sheriff Joe, apparently has a softer side. Arpaio, nationally renowned for his tough tactics of forcing his inmates to sport the color pink, and live in Tent Cities in the heat of Arizonas climate, has taken on the problem of animal abuse in Maricopa County. According to his website, First Avenue jail houses smaller animals that are rescued from abuse and neglect cases, while larger animals are placed in a fenced arena adjacent to Tent City. Arpaio, often referred to as the toughest Sheriff in the world has been criticized of treating animals better than the inmates. . .to which he responded: I usually respond by saying the animals are victims and as such, deserve to be treated well. Inmates, on the other hand, have broken the law by victimizing others. They deserve to be treated humanely but not delicately. We have taken several people into custody over the years and we have rescued untold numbers of horses, pigs, ducks, donkeys, goats, monkeys, turtles, birds and, of course, cats and dogs. All the animals stay with us until the case against the animals owner is adjudicated in court. Sometimes, the animals are ordered by the judge to be returned to the owner. But usually, they are signed over to the Sheriffs care. Thats when we hold adoptions. We are a no kill shelter. As long as I am Sheriff, there will be a place in this office to house and care for abused animals we take in from our investigations. And it should go without saying; there will always be room in my jails for the animal abusers. A lot of police professionals will disagree with my belief about law enforcements duty to prioritize animal abuse and neglect problems. They may justify their position by saying there is enough on their plates just dealing with felons. But I believe animal abuse and neglect is a serious problem that too often leads to far more serious offenses like child abuse and other acts of violence against people. That aside, animal abuse and neglect is just wrong! It turns my stomach.
Bull (*)(*)(*)(*). Sheriff Joe hates Brown skin people. He hates illegals. 90% of all illegals arrested are Brown skin people. What the hell would you expect when Arizona is on the border of Mexico?
Libs just hate him because he refuses to buckle down to Obama and leave Liberal's future Democrats alone to take jobs away from Americans. Tough (*)(*)(*)(*), he is our sheriff and Arizona loves him.
Did you know the Federal Government has signs posted in some of Arizona's National Parks warning people not to go in because of illegals using them for drug and human trafficking? The state has signs on some of our highways warning people not to pull over and stop because many have been attacked by illegals. This video was taken less than 2 years ago and this is what we get every day here. http://www.cis.org/Videos/HiddenCameras2
It's a tough situation but we can't get too hard on them. Lots of Americans go to Mexico so it's not a good idea to do anything that will cause the locals to take it out on them.
Being to hard to many is not arresting and deporting them as Sheriff Joe is doing. They have done all they can to keep him from arresting illegals, including taking him to court for targeting Hispanics. I hope everyone gets a chance to watch that video because I don't think most people realize what's going on here. They listen to Obama saying our border is secure, when it's far from it as you can see. As they said, no border patrol has ever been spotted on those hidden cameras. You have to know, they know where they're crossing. http://www.cis.org/Videos/HiddenCameras2
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged from the way it treats its animals" Mahatma Gandhi. He was right.
I'm just looking forward to Arpy's publicity team's pic of him posing with his posse of Barney Fifes receiving their school assignments and milk money. Let's hope the kids don't harass them, demanding they all take their bullet out of their pocket for show 'n tell! With 98% of kids gunned down in America being away from schools at the time, schools should certainly be pretty safe for Arp's Army. .
Abusive people generally have some sort of activity, on which they lean, to justify their abusive behavior. That way they can say I'm not abusive because I do "thus and such." Joe's magnanimity in this instance is a testimony to his cruelness, not a fig leaf to cover it up. We just need to look at his proposed suggestion to understand the underlying cruelty and anger in his mind. The idea of putting armed vigilantes, without any rigorous psychological criteria and evaluation to verify their emotional state, without any criteria and training on how to deal with groups of kids, is barbaric, cruel, and moronic. It is particularly troubling that the idea has come from a person in a position of power.
Yes, animal abuse comes in many forms; modifying dogs so they don't bark, wiring their ears so they look 'mean', amputating a cat's knuckles so it can't do what it naturally does-nor defend itself, imprisoning sentient mammals (whales) and making them do tricks for our amusement. All stem from the land of the free so that pets and other animals neatly conform to our lifestyles.
Yes, it also comes in the form of cruel slaughter houses as well. If Joe is so concerned about the animals, what is he doing about that? That aside, my point is that Joe's superficial magnanimity is merely a cover for his cruelty and hostility to his fellow man. His idea is a manifestation of this underlying hostility.
The lesson from all these mass shootings, besides the obvious social rot wrought by the Leftists and their entertainment industry allies, is that these mass shooter don't go anywhere near armed citizens.
No doubt the entertainment industry has created quite a bit of social rot. The right is a product of it. They think that by embracing extreme right wing positions and carrying guns that they can redeem themselves of the rot from which they are infected. However, they are creating an extremely toxic mix that is causing the psychological trauma and conflict that results in the mass shootings.
Not surprising coming from the American Gestapo run by Joe Arpiao. Of course it will do little good related to mass murders that occur in theaters, shopping malls and other places where people gather. It doesn't even address the problem of mass murder which, if we look worldwide, is predominately accomplished with bombs and not firearms. What will prevent a crazy person from walking into a school and setting off a bomb in a classroom killing everyone inside the room? Many mass murders commit suicide and a bomb is a perfect means for them to kill a lot of people while also taking their own life.
Indeed, it's just an idea coming from an angry old man. His solution is to fill the schools with similar angry people with guns who don't know how to deal with groups of people or children. One of them would probably end up killing an innocent kid, who merely said something they didn't like. Kids, especially teenagers do that kind of thing. I can see it, the kid says something, the angry Arpiao appointee gets mad and shoots the kid as he is reaching into his locker. Then the angry vigilante will get off with the excuse that "I thought he was reaching for a gun." A very bad idea.
