I would disagree. I see a lot of pride toward accomplishment and I see a lot of self respect. But this does not translate into some of the laws that the GOP favors, especially laws such as abortion or personhood laws or the tax policy, or foreign policy. It used to be that the GOP and the Dems would agree that there is a problem, but disagree on the solution. Nowadays, the GOP thinks everything the Dems do is the problem and any problem by the GOP offers is the the solution.
