Because providing flowers for a celebration is not MARRYING HOMOS. - - - Updated - - - I'm sorry, what's the "Gay" channel?
If she straight up refused them service for being gay you would be right. Be she doesn't have to relinquish her religious rights to satisfy someone else' rights.
You just repeating yourself now?... This isn't a religious freedom. A religious freedom is something that respects a person's right to observe the tenets of their religion. Refusing to do business with sinners isn't a Christian tenet. And freedom of association doesn't mean a shop keeper or public servant can refuse goods and services to certain people for just any reason. If you disagree, at least show me some case law that backs up this silly idea of yours.
http://www.heretv.com/AGetHerePageDetail.php?parentId=66 - - - Updated - - - It means I can refuse service to you because you wore pink, it most certainly does. As long as I don't descriminate against you for one of the spelled out reasons I am free to still discriminate against you.
Her constitutional rights aren't being infringed upon in any way, shape or form, at least based on the arguments you've put forward.
We shall see how this works out, but I'd personally bet against you. If you run a business selling products or service to the public, you'd better sell to any legal customer. If your religion tells you you don't have to sell to people or for occasions you find religiously offensive, you can expect legal problems.
Does a bakery owner have rights to refuse a customer's request to decorate a cake that states; "Cheer up, sweetheart, you'll feel much better about your choice to abort soon!" ?
What does this have to do with providing evidence for your claim that "freedom of association" means this woman's constitutional rights were infringed upon?
That would be their right, as much as you want to deny it. Don't like it? Don't give them any of your business. Other than that, it's really none of the state's business.
I find it interesting that liberals are so eager to stomp all over other people's rights. They want to take away our guns, they want to regulate our businesses to death, they want to prevent us from building on our land, they want to prevent us from drilling for oil, they want to punish us for having employees with onerous health care taxes, they want to take away everything and anything that makes America great and turn us into the Soviet Union.
They are being hateful bigots by forcing her to do their wedding when it goes against her rights not to.
Totalitarianism......delivered under the auspices of feel good terms, "fairness", "equality" and "social justice"
I still say that if you were able to show the current events headlines from 2013 to people who died in the '50s and '60s they would think it was some sort of joke...........
They are if your going to force her to provide flowers to your gay wedding. - - - Updated - - - Dude nothing is stopping them from buying the flowers and taking the flowers themselves to their gay wedding. She's simply refusing to provide the delivery service and the arranging service at their wedding. She'll still sell them the damn flowers if they come to her store and buy them.
If I can discriminate against you for wearing pink, she can discriminate against your gay marriage ceremony. It's the same thing. - - - Updated - - - Dude don't screw up my argument. It is not ok to discriminate based on race, religion, sexual identity or the other specifically spelled out reasons. But it is legal to discriminate against those who don't eat pork, wear pink, wear baggy pants, or a gay marriage.
That protects religion from her, not people from her religion. Unless, of course, you think homosexuality is a religion?
She's not "doing their wedding", she's selling them flowers. It should be of no interest or concern what people do with the flowers that leave her shop and are no longer her possessions. Just sell the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) flowers and stop making a f'in big deal out of nothing. Jeez.
She could legally discriminate against that. Freedom of association covers it. - - - Updated - - - Being free to associate with whom we want to associate with or not with is freedom not totalitarianism. Trying to force her to provide service for a gay wedding is totalitarianism.
If you checked, you will find these site will accept ANYONE of any color. They are merely ADVERTISING for a particular clientele. Just like many businesses advertise "Glory Hole Cleaners - Christian owned and operated" If they won't take you then sue them and see how rich you get!
there is absolutely no similarity between race and how one engages in sex you can stop having sex. You can't stop being black you insult those who suffered under real civil rights issues when you try to draw similarities to those who are gay
