This week has been as a.sad time for America. Our Senate voted to stop any form of background check, even the most watered down portion. What is the reason? It is called greed. The goal is to get as much money for the.American Rifle Association as possible.9 out 10 Americans want this check. Why can't this happen? ! It is said that the bullet holes from these guns left holes the size of a baseball these first graders were hit up to 12 times. Times. You may ask what is this rant about ? Next election get all of these amoral mother (*)(*)(*)(*)ers out of office.Mike from America.
Practiced my gun control this weekend. Took out my new 92FS 9mm and my new Glock 19 9mm. Put around 100 rounds through each. Did ok. Oh, and I sent my check out to the NRA last week also. Chris, from America. Florida to be exact. And thank god for it.
Nothing in the bills would have stopped any of the recent shootings. All they were were an attempt to politically spin a tragedy.
there is all ready laws for background checks, the numbers that obama has been using are nothing but lies,
Now, what really happened. The gun laws did not change and a new law that would have done nothing to have stopped the shootings did not pass. I say next election get all of the amoral mother (*)(*)(*)(*)ers that are trying to take away our freedoms out of office. A true American that understands what America used to be. What you want is for those mother (*)(*)(*)(*)ers to control what Mike from America does because some (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) shot some kids.
America used to be a racist, intolerant place, where blacks, women, and many minorities were oppressed. Thank god we will NEVER go back to that.
LOL, typical deflection. Don't know about you but a majority on this forum were born after the Civil Rights act much less the Civil War and can remember what America was like before the progressive authoritarians started telling us what we can and cannot do and what we can and cannot own. I am going to guess you are a liberal since you resort to race to make your argument.
On the contrary, they received pressure from the American people to stop the bill. gun control measures have failede EVERYWHERE THEY HAVE BEEN ENACTED!!! They simply do not work. Background checks will have no effect at all on illegal gun saled, which is how criminals obtain guns. The REAL problem? Inept government! See the article linked below: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...4c4fa6e-a2ed-11e2-82bc-511538ae90a4_blog.html Take a look at these statistics from background check data. Maybe we should act on the laws we already have before passing new useless ones. 2010: 72,659 denials 34,459 felony convictions/indictments 13,862 fugitives 44 prosecutions (0.06 percent of denials) 2009: 67,324 denials 32,652 felony convictions/indictments 11,341 fugitives 77 prosecutions (0.11 percent) 2008: 70,725 denials 39,526 felony convictions/indictments 9,464 fugitives 105 prosecutions (0.15 percent) Quit drinking the Obama kool aid and WAKE UP!!!
No I mean republicans "On this day in 1862, the Republican-controlled 37th Congress enacted, despite unanimous Democrat opposition, the second Confiscation Act. This law, written by Senator Lyman Trumbull (R-IL), declared that all slaves held by Confederate rebels shall be forever free. President Abraham Lincoln (R-IL) would cite this law in the provisional Emancipation Proclamation two months later."
the republicans back then are democrats today. the right wing confederates back then are the right wing republicans of today.
LOL you keep telling yourself that eh. Why heck I like your strategy, take credit for what your opponent has done. GOOD CALL!
Lies about the 40% numbers http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...02e06ce-9b0f-11e2-a941-a19bce7af755_blog.html internet sales must go though a dealer for a background check all you have to do to find that out is go to a internet site that sells guns and it will say must be shipped to a licensed dealer. The 90% number all Obama did was ask the areas that want strict gun control and ignored the rest of the country, just like Cuomo is doing in NY. He claims most of the state wants the nysafe act and calls everyone that opposes it radical. He ignores everything north of NYC, and the fact that 52 counties out of 61 has voted to repeal the law, he ignores that the NY Sheriffs Assoc, NY State Police, Local police, hundreds of towns across the state have all said repeal the law, Polls actually show that only about 4% of the country cares about gun control.
He said 90% of Americans were for the UBC. Lie. He said 87% of NRA members for for the UBC. Lie. Proof? He said it on TV about a hundred times.
Your link basically deals with semantics and the 4% is a lie. Read the actual poll they care about it but care about other things more. It would be like saying I don't care about my son's math grade because I care that the school is safe, that he gets time for lunch and that the teachers are well trained. - - - Updated - - - Okay I will try again....calling it a lie doesn't make it one. Do you have data to support your point.
Just listen to the man himself. Did you not listen to his run up to vote and his crying in the Rose Garden? So my support is Obama himself, as well as Liar Joe the VP.
First off its the National Rifle Association and our President is a democrat so how are you wanting to complain about getting people out of office? You have the anti-gun people in the White House you should not be complaining.
Don't know much about this issue do you? There is already a back ground check performed by all FFL license holders on ALL purchases at point of sale as currently required by law. Gun shows are also so regulated when the sale is from a FFL holder. However some states are just a little slow in getting the appropriate data in the system for it to be at the very least minimally useful. Please provide any data the shows that the EXPANDED checks that were proposed would be enforced any more that the current 20,000+ gun laws currently on the books or that they would have accomplished the STATED goal of stopping these shootings. Your outrage is misdirected at the very least.
