And the Australian labor party is at its lowest level in one hundred years.

Great job Australia! Way to go!

Too bad the people of the United States didn't make the same change in 2012!

Abbott: I pledge myself to the service of this country

They took a good look at the damage done by just 4 years of liberal BS, with its stifling of the mining boom, all the green party global warming hocus pocus, and free-stuff expansion, and realized how stupid it all was.

The term conservative means something different to the Aussie's than most Americans think of the term. They would likely be democrats if they were in the US. The US left vs right or liberal vs conservative is far different than in other countries.

France, no doubt, will soon see a similar reversal.

You may want to look at their views on climate change. Some individuals still deny the science but the major parties do not. That is a losing political position in the land down under.

What damage? An economy that has not had a recession in 22 years, has grown from an economy in the mid thirties to a member of the G20 - If thats damage, America is in real trouble if people who think like you gain power

Climate change is real. Conservatives should stop denying it. And start thanking the Gods for the blessing that higher carbon is.

If I were a fan of central command, which I am decidedly not, my goal would be 1000 ppm of carbon. That would create a "Garden of Eden" atmosphere on Earth...

    1. How awesome is it that the Aussies have a sex party? Until you look at it, and it's all socially liberal stuff. Shame. I was hoping they were letting lose down there.

    2. Whatever. Glad they had a good election.

I am not a "conservative" at least not by American standards. I do not deny climate change, but short of a nuclear winter not sure anything can be done to stop it.

I will have to just LOL on the rest because, I have no idea what you are talking about.

I know one thing the people were sick of is paying the carbon credits....but not to worry, we'll have it here soon enough...even if they have to push it through the back door like everything Obama does.

No political party denies that the Climate Changes /rolls eyes... They "deny" MMGW to the degree that the flaw models are suggesting.

Evidently there were reasons why they rejected what they had. Hopefully America will follow suit. It's just a damn shame Obama stole this election with voter fraud. Romney was no prize, but he would have been a birthday party compared to this POS we now have.

We would be soooooo much better off now if Romney had been elected. Instead of still stuck in the doldrums of Obama incompetence and liberal parasitology..

    .
I believe we have institutions of higher learning that teach many courses, and entire disciplines, in such. In fact, I think all liberal arts has now descended into that abyss. They just can't label it so.

What a racket. Student loans out the whazoo to become a leech on the gubmit teat for the rest of your life. Maggots got nothing on the liberals.

What a joke. Their Conservatism isn't even close to what the loser Cons here want. There is not a civilized country in the world that has a government that would be considered Conservative by American Con standards. The closest thing you have is radical Muslim fundamentalist run countries which is what we would have here if those anti American losers ever got into power.

That's one point, but the British press is saying that the Australian people have been paying attention to Germany, Britain and Canada, their economic platforms and that's what Abbott has promised, a government with little regulation, sensible environmental laws, and a healthy, well funded by the taxes a strong economy delivers, social safety net.

The very program offered to Obama's people by the Bank of Canada back in 2008 when all this crap started.

While the liberal party is eliminating the carbon tax they will still seek to reduce emissions in Australia just not the rest of the world. Which sound good to me.

Not really a argument I have alot of interest in as I said before I believe little can be done about it. The liberal party does still believe in MMGW, National health care, they were the party that passed the gun bans. While more conservative than the socialist Labour party they are not conservative by US standards. They would likely agree with the American right on immigration.

It is sad that republicans have to celebrate the victory of party that shares little in common with them because they have little to cheer at home. Abbott was not even born in OZ he was born in Britian. Economic liberals and social conservatives not a party I would join.
