What a load of self-serving twaddle. Who the hell are they to expect preferential treatment to disrupt the city because they want to ride around like a gang instead of observing the traffic laws like every other motorist? Their stunt would have disrupted residents more, and brought no benefit to the businesses that they would have driven by instead of stopping and buying something. The permit denial was the perfect solution to the situation. The bikers are free to ride through the city as individuals, obeying traffic laws, and not disrupting other citizens. The residents don't have to deal with several hours of disruption to traffic as a mob of bikers clog the streets. The businesses will earn more money from biker visitors who stop and shop.
The pres isn't directly "in charge" of a lot of things, but that doesn't stop his sycophants in the administration from drinking his kool-ade, does it?
But it's ok to have a march for anything else that supports the radical Liberal agenda that disrupts traffic though right? Also don't forget about all the OWS rallies and marches that disrupt more than just traffic, they actually shut business down, ON PURPOSE!
You clearly don't understand what will happen. Instead of having a memorial ride, which again, happens regularly, closing down a route for a couple of hours to move the traffic through... we will go anyway, and traffic will be locked up all day. That is WHY they get permits ALL THE TIME for memorial rides. To EASE congestion... not plug it. The bikers are free to ride through the city en masse regardless. This is just going to create problems all around it.

Last week was really rough at first, then it got better and came and went. THis week I seem to be in a come and go phase. The cops will probably close up streets and divert traffic anyway. They don't want to trap millions of bikers IN DC all riled up NEAR the Muslim 9/11 protest. They surely don't want a slow procession down Pennsylvania revving out a cacophony of thunder and horns for the 6 hours it takes to go by, signaling that the natives are restless... I expect the COPS will address the situation on the ground, as they are trained, and setup the paths requested, regardless of the permit.
