Way to keep it classy GOP.

Indeed, at a California republican convention, some rather interested pins were handed out attacking Hilalry Clinton. Were the attacks on here ideas? Political philosophies? Previous actions?

    Heck no!

In what is truly a classy move, the buttons attacked her appearance.

You know, if you are trying to win over folks, perhaps this sort of behavior is not appropriate. Certainly I would think most rational adults, left and right, would find this sort of attack to be both misogynistic and juvenile.

    http://www.opposingviews.com/i/poli...hillary-buttons-2-fat-thighs-2-small-breasts#

A Republican convention in California, which promised to “rebuild the party from the ground up,” handed out buttons body shaming Hillary Clinton.

The convention was reportedly aimed at distancing the party from its Tea Party elements, including panels like “Grassroots 101: Latino Engagement” and “Women on the Right,” but paraphernalia handed out to constituents seemed to indicate otherwise.

Senior political writer Carla Marinucci of the San Francisco Chronicle tweeted an image of “popular buttons” that read “KFC Hillary Special: 2 Fat Thighs, 2 Small Breasts … Left Wing.”

Another button made a less ad hominem, but equally Tea Party statement: “I still hate Commies … even after they changed their name to Liberals.”

According to ThinkProgress, the Republican party is trying to distance itself from previous GOP comments that could be viewed as sexist or as displaying a general misunderstanding of the female anatomy, like Missouri Rep. Todd Akin (R) claiming that “legitimate rape” victims can’t get pregnant and vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan saying he wanted to try termination of pregnancy as a homicide crime.

The Republican National Committee has said that GOP candidates “need to use language that addresses concerns that are on women’s minds in order to let them know we are fighting for them."

Shortly after a picture of the buttons was tweeted, Marinucci tweeted a follow up saying that the buttons were removed from the convention.

“Less than hour after we 1st tweeted, appears offensive #Hillary buttons gone from #cagop. Many here also appalled,” she wrote.

I dont see what the big deal is....

If hillary didnt get an obamacare waiver, her healthcare would cost more due to her obesity.

Its time for hillary to either workout or start paying her fair share.

Meh....after seeing Planned Parenthood handing out condoms at DNC that said "Protect yourself from Romney Ryan", I'm not sure why I should be outraged here. There's a lot of distasteful ideas when it comes to politics. You get used to it.

They are scared out of their rabid assed minds of her.

And if I were a Republican I would be too.

They are in for an ass kicking of Biblical proportions in 2016.

Who said this was condoned by the GOP or RNC?

At any convention, you have vendors selling stuff.

As far as we know this was just an independent vendor selling political stuff.

    You know, like these guys...

:clapping:Yep. If the politicians can get used to it the people should too. All the people have to do is think like a politician and have it in mind 'they don't care'.

It's funny how it only creates an outrage when Republicans do it, though.

    And in related news....

"The Republican Party's effort to rebrand itself with women since losing the 2012 presidential race and seats in Congress is falling short, a new United Technologies/National Journal Congressional Connection Poll has found.

Only 14 percent of women said the Republican Party had moved closer to their perspective. More than twice as many women, 33 percent, said the party had drifted further from them. A plurality, 46 percent, saw no change.

The dangers for the GOP of losing women's support are playing out in the Virginia gubernatorial race, where Democratic nominee Terry McAuliffe has taken the lead over Republican Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, almost entirely by opening up a lead among female voters.

In the new poll, the results for the GOP are even more ominous among young women. Only 11 percent of women younger than 50 said the party had moved closer to them. In contrast, 29 percent said the GOP had moved further away."

Based on their past few decades, it seems that their exit plan is to let it all burn so that they can then establish right-wing "safeholds" so they can exercise their "freedoms" by forcing their own beliefs on everyone within gunshot range.

Don't really need the women's vote if women ain't allowed to vote, amiright?

    - - - Updated - - -

Ironically, once again the right is focusing all its efforts on Hillary when they should really be watching Elizabeth Warren.

I honestly believe it is all just partisan bullcrap, they criticized Palin for her looks too. Do I want Hillary for President ? No but the republicans better get thier act straight soon or she will be , someone mentioned the liar from Mass. I would rather have clinton .:wall:

A great deal of attention was paid to Palin's physical appearance during the 2008 elections. According to Vogue magazine, "Besides being telegenic, [Palin] had a tough-girl Alaskan résumé that most politicians could only dream of—the protein her family eats comes from fish she has pulled out of the ocean with her own hands and caribou she has shot."[135] Others were quick to point out striking resemblances of Palin to actress Tina Fey, who would impersonate her on Saturday Night Live, and Peggy Hill, a character on Fox Network's cartoon series King of the Hill. Regarding her appearance, Palin has said, "I've been taken aback by the nasty criticism about my appearance. I wish they'd stick with the issues instead of discussing my black go-go boots. A reporter once asked me about it during the campaign, and I assured him I was trying to be as frumpy as I could by wearing my hair on top of my head and these schoolmarm glasses.

lol Hillary is going to completely dominate in 2016. Handing out anti-woman buttons won't change that. Irresponsible political temper-tantrums that shut down the government won't make Obamacare go away either.

If I may point out Vogue, SNL, and King of the Hill are not the Democratic Party.

When at party, or it's members, under the auspices of that party are behaving in such a nasty and misogynistic manner, it deserves to be criticized.
