Why is it when a white person does something evil, it is because the individual is nuts, but when it's a black person, it's because their skin is dark?

Race is a non existing argument, because our blood is all mixed with each other, there is no such a thing as a race, but the only thing we can refer to are groups with somewhat similar features, like white skin, fair hair, tall stature for northern europeans, smaller stature, dark hair and eyes for chinese, but then, even among those groups, there can be great differences.

That said, can i tell you my humblest opinion towards those groups? Well, i would not like to be born as a black, i like my appearence as a white. Maybe because i was born white, who knows.

So, in the end, what can i say? In a political/economical view, the world would be much better if all people were somewhat similar to each other, with a range of skin and features which are not too different, so that there would no more be any basis to make a clear distinction between people, such as " black or white ". This way it should be theoretically much easier for people to accept each other, at least for the main 3 different groups, said white, black and asian.

In MY point of view, i would not like a world where all group differences are destroyed, but maybe it's a lux we can not afford. Maybe the answer lies in genetic engineering and science, which will open all brand new views on the whole thing.

I'll start by making my position clear.
    Racism is stupidity.
    Now to why.

To assume all in any given group share all the same attributes and traits is amazingly short sighted, uninformed and stupid as it clearly isn't true.
    All blacks are rapists.
No - some blacks are rapists, as are some white people, some yellow and so on but the media shout a lot about the black ones because it makes far better headlines than other stories.
Again, when it comes to crime figures, many tell the same tired old story about the number of blacks in prison when compared to the percentage of the population as a whole.
Drrrr, when you mistreat and generally make life hard work for a given group over several generations; what the hell do you expect?
we can extend this to bigotry against Muslims.
All Muslims are suicide bombers, intent on destroying America.

Question. Because some Americans murder, rape and are generally unpleasant; are all Americans?

If not, why are all Muslims bad?

You just can't generalise about racial or religious groups because the INDIVIDUALS who make up those groups vary wildly.

Ok, so apparently you don't live on the same planet as the rest of us, so let me be the first to welcome you to earth.

Too sit there and deny the fact that race mongerss such as yourself hasn't used the President's race as a cover for is agenda, means you're oblivious to the political reality of our country, or just plain dishonest. Which is it?

Its insane how automatically everyone jumps on Affirmative action and starts acting like white people are being oppressed now while minorities are living a luxurious life on food stamps and welfare.

I understand what you are saying and I agree for the most part but you obviously left out the libertarians, likely because you are one yourself. The forum I was always on before this one was filled to the top with Libertarians they were EVERYWHERE (I can link you the forum if you want, its a game forum though but a game with complete freedom which is why it attracts libertarians lol xD), I noticed though when libertarians talk about race (not you though) 9 times out of 10 they advocate ignoring racism entirely and get rid of affirmative action right away. Im sure even you would see the problem with just simply ignoring racism.

The point is though yes some democrats say dumb things like "White people are never the victim of racism", but you left out the fact libertarians say some dumb things about race also. One thing im sure both the democrats and libertarians can agree on though is that the Conservative party has racism in its core and many of them push very racist agendas. I dont believe libertarians and democrats are racist but we do disagree on how to handle racism. I am not in favor of affirmative action either but its better than not doing anything at all, I always here people talk (*)(*)(*)(*) about affirmative action while giving absolutely no alternatives other than let minorities continue to be oppressed until hopefully one day it magically stops.

That is easy to say if you are not or have not been the victim of racism.

Since "racism" seems to be a one-way street, any honest dialog is foreclosed.

I don't think the bolded part happens NEARLY as often as you think it does.

In my opinion, what we need to realize is that very few people ARE racist, at least to a harmful degree.

Minorities will NEVER rise to their potential if we keep seeing them as victims of ANYTHING, including racism.

Blacks should be treated like whites are treated, in every respect. THAT is the absence of racism. And that would mean that the N------ word should have very, very little concern for people.

Liberals refuse to treat blacks equally and Conservatives are afraid of what liberals will say or do if these Cons treat blacks equally.

I played a gig last night and met a black guy there and he and I became such close friends in two hours you might have a hard time believing it.

Racism is not as alive and healthy in human thinking as many of us think.

It's also easy to believe falsely that those guys did that thing there because of your skin color, even though you might be wrong. It's easy to believe a lot of things.

But it's also time to start seeing THROUGH the racism, and being bigger than that.

If you were in exposed to anywhere near the same racism as your great-great-great grandfather, you wouldn't be sitting around chatting in a computer forum. I'm betting on that, baby.

What in God's name ever caused you to start thinking something as outlandishly stupid as this?

If you had any idea how wrong that is, you'd be humiliated that you even pretend to believe it, let alone actually believe.

Whatever the media is clearly guilty of playing on the most primitive racial divisions in our society to fuel
    -Juan Williams
Is he a uncle Tom for calling out the media. for their race baiting?

"Republicans are using the IRS scandal as their latest weapon in the war against the black man."
    Martin Bashir
Another fine example of using race to cover A Obama scandal.

"They are happy to have a party with Black people drowning."
    David Chalian, Yahoo news editor
Yep, those dasterly republicans planned to have their convention during hurricane Sandy on purpose.

"Joe Wilson yelled "you lie!" at a president who didn't. But fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air, "you lie, boy!"
    Maureen Dowd-NYC Times

Ok, lets completely set aside the fact that Joe Wilson was right, and everything President Obama saud about the Affordable Care Act so far has been proven untrue, and lets focus on the fact that calling out dishonest propaganda by the president is obviously racist now.

    You want more examples?

Are you serious? Are you really going to sit there and pretend this doesn't happen?

Oh of course not, but because I am not on the plantation working for Mr. Charlie doesn't mean that racism and discrimination is a thing of the past either.

I don't have to sit in the balconey at the movies anymore either, I am allowed to swim in a public pool if I choose now also, I also can drink out of a water fountain of my choosing nowadays also, but does that mean racism and discrimination are no more. Uh I think not.

    Thank you for your post,
Concerning the bolded quote above you need to take into consideration 'manufactured racist' or the appearance of being racist by ones response to persistent negativity hurled at them. For instance, lets suppose that you yourself are not a racist by any definition. But IF you happen to be subjected to many black persons accusing you of wrong doing or taking a cheese grater to your forehead, at some point you will react to that trespass and voice your displeasure. At that point you will be labeled a genocidal racist, a hater, unreasonable and ignorant for your intolerance.
(this analogy only applies to those that aren't racist to begin with).
So yes, there are real racist and then there are those that simply react to the grater on the forehead. Sadly, there is no attempt or any mechanism to differentiate between the two by the media or the racism political machines.

    Respectfully,

Anyone who is not a minority... which inherently means white males in nearly every single case.

Voter intimidation by the black panthers standing out in front of polling booths in Philadelphia with weapons slapping them against their hands. I'm sure you'll claim it wasn't voter intimidation... So before you do, let me ask you, if that had been a few white guys in KKK uniforms knocking sticks against their hands in front of polling areas... would that be voter intimidation?

How about the black kids that were just bored (I think in florida) who murdered that white Australian guy and had previously been talking about whitie and how much they hated white people in their twitter accounts... shockingly not prosecuted as a hate crime... If that had been white guys who had killed some black guy and they had been making derogatory comments about blacks on their twitter accounts... you think that wouldn't have been prosecuted as a hate crime? But nah, the victim in this case wasn't the right color.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOABBn5Tnm0
Atty General Eric Holder admits that Bill is not about punishing crimes motivated by hate, but rather about making crimes against 'certain groups' worth-more than comparable crimes against others... and would also give the federal government the right to step into states and re-try if they don't like the way a trial/prosecution turned out.

    http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2013/07...ce-refuse-to-charge-men-who-killed-their-son/
Two white teens, Jacob Kudla and Jourdan Bobbish, were abducted, brutally beaten, and murdered in Detroit.

SBA's 8A: Some minority groups are presumed to be socially and economically disadvantaged and can qualify for the 8(a) program. These groups include: African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian Pacific Americans and Subcontinent Asian Americans.

Iowa Department of Economic Development's targeted small business assistance option: For women and minorities explicitly.

Let's not even discuss that there are the "National Women's Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the National Black Chamber of Commerce and the Native American Chamber of Commerce." Where's the National White Chamber of Commerce? Oh wait that's right... that would be racist.

Outreach and Technical Assistance program, also known as 2501, is the only federal program dedicated to rectifying this discriminatory legacy by funding grants, education initiatives, and outreach organizations designed specifically for minority farmers.

On what grounds is it racist against blacks? Because more blacks commit crimes?

Then according to all of this... you wouldn't have a problem with a school or group who refused to admit minority applicants because they believed diversity was detrimental to their objectives?

As long as their intent was not malicious or judging them less worthy... they simply believe diversification is detrimental. That's perfectly fine right?

Also I'd like to point out... if diversification really provided as much of a benefit as people on your side want to claim... then it wouldn't need to be FORCED upon groups. The fact that it provided a more conducive learning environment, or that it provided more profit for business or gave businesses a competitive advantage... they would WILLFULLY take on diversification. But as a rule... that's not what we see is it? Diversification must be FORCED upon groups... because diversification is not inherently beneficial. If diversification provided a company with a higher profit or more of a competitive advantage... they would happily diversify. The assertion from people on your side is that the reason they do not diversify is because ALLLLLL of these companies are just run by racist old white guys who don't want anything but other white guys. My position is that they do not diversify because diversification is not inherently beneficial and in many cases can be severely detrimental... ESPECIALLY when it's forced upon people.

You may think that, but you'd be wrong. There are always going to be people that vote against their own interests. The TeaParty is a perfect example. When you find about 2%, if that, of that population identifying themselves as conservative, that doesn't prove anything.

Liberal Democrats history of racism? hehe. I'm sure you can find a history of conservative democrats, or DixieCrats, who became Conservative Republicans, but that simply proves my point. Conservatism and racism are one in the same in America. And you won't find any history of Conservative Republicans promoting racial equality over the past 100 years. There were a few liberal Republicans ( once upon a time they actually existed. My own Senator at the time was Everett Dirkson, a Republican and a Liberal from Illinois that pushed through the CRA. There were quite a few up north back then. Rockefeller, Ed Brooke, Bill Scranton, Chuck Percy. And likewise quite a few conservative Dems from the South) In fact, I'd say that you've probably immersed yourself in historical revisionism that would reach new depths of ignorance. Your first mistake is in assuming that the parties have anything to do with this. It's ideology that drives the party. The party doesn't drive the ideology. Conservatism and Racism are one in the same in America. The conservative Dems, all left the party, and today the South is totally Red State America and as conservative as it always has been and probably always will be.

You're surprised at this?? Then you're truly ignorant about this entire issue. I can assure you African/Americans are not. I can tell you why. All of the things you mentioned; are products of conservatism. Every one of them. Jim Crow, poll taxes, the KKK, Segregation, opposition to Civil Rights, denying the integration of public schools, literally everything you bring up, was all common practice in the South, and as any person with a slice of understanding about this country knows, the South has ALWAYS been conservative. NEVER, EVER Liberal. It was conservative from our beginning. It required slavery to be included in our very constitution in Article 1 sec 2, Article 1 sec 9, and Article 4 sec 2. It fought a civil war to keep that institution, because, conservatives always maintain existing institutions. Look for yourself.

A Declaration of the Immediate Causes which Induce and Justify the Secession of the State of
    Mississippi from the Federal Union.

“In the momentous step which our State has taken of dissolving its connection with the government of which we so long formed a part, it is but just that we should declare the prominent reasons which have induced our course. “

“Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery– the greatest material interest of the world. Its labor supplies the product which constitutes by far the largest and most important portions of commerce of the earth. These products are peculiar to the climate verging on the tropical regions, and by an imperious law of nature, none but the black race can bear exposure to the tropical sun. These products have become necessities of the world, and a blow at slavery is a blow at commerce and civilization. That blow has been long aimed at the institution, and was at the point of reaching its consummation. There was no choice left us but submission to the mandates of abolition, or a dissolution of the Union, whose principles had been subverted to work out our ruin.”

Please let me know when exactly Mississippi has been regarded as a bastion of liberalism.

Southern conservatism is an integral part of American conservatism. And if one looks at it, you’ll find racism at its core. African-Americans are fully aware of this attitude coming from conservatives, which is why so few align themselves to this ideology. Southern Conservatism dominates today's Republican Party, and that's exactly why you lose their vote all the time. Conservatives talk about trying to reach out to the African-American community, but fail to understand that nobody wants to hang with people that hate you. Blacks understand the source of this hatred, and are not likely to embrace it. Until conservatism renounces racism and purges racists from the Republican Party, they’ll never reach the African-American in any significant numbers.

Do you think that it was liberals that murdered three civil rights workers in Neshoba County Mississippi? It was a bunch of conservatives from the KKK that did this. In fact, the three victims WERE liberals. Did liberals blow up the 16st Baptist Church in Birmingham? Is the KKK a liberal group or, or are the conservative to the bone? Would any member of the KKK vote for Obama? Is Obama a liberal Democrat, or is he a Conservative? Did Obama win the Southern vote? Why not? Isn't the South liberal these days? Maybe you can tell me when it ever was?

The ideology behind lynching, directly connected with denial of political and social equality, was stated forthrightly by Benjamin Tillman, a South Carolina Conservative governor and senator, speaking on the floor of the U.S. Senate in 1900:

“We of the South have never recognized the right of the negro to govern white men, and we never will. We have never believed him to be the equal of the white man, and we will not submit to his gratifying his lust on our wives and daughters without lynching him.”

When was South Carolina a liberal state? Try NEVER.

Todays Republican Party isn't the party of Lincoln. It's the Party of Jefferson Davis complete with secessionists and confederate flag wavers and racist birthers that can never accept a black man in the White House.

The Conservative position? I've studied the conservative position back to Edmund Burke. What part do you think I may have missed? The "conservative position" is stated in black and white. Conservatives have written about their position since Russell Kirk in 1953. In his lecture on “The Origins of the Modern American Conservative Movement” given to the Heritage Foundation in 2003, (I'm sure you've heard of the Heritage Foundation. Jim Demint heads it now and they figure prominently in Republican Tea Party ideology) Dr. Lee Edwards cited Russell Kirk, author of The Conservative Mind as providing the central idea upon which American conservatism is essentially based, calling it ordered liberty. There's more to it than that, however, and Burke cites his 6 Canon's of Conservatism as the basic principles of conservatism. I'm quite familiar with the conservative "position" on things. I've found the best way is to read the writings of prominent conservatives. Today's "conservatives" are something we haven't seen before. They're far right extremists.

I suppose this stuff should be overlooked. I'm a race monger because right wing morons pull this crap, and when it's pointed out...I'm the race monger? And on top of this, you claim that the President has been using race to cover his political agenda? Tell you what Bubba, stop with the watermellons and the confederate flags in front of the White House and the Birther crap, and the problem disappears. You really wan to know what might help? Maybe if the Republicans denounced racism and purged those scum from the party, you'd do better. Until you do, it's going to be thrown right back in your collective face. There's a conservative poster right on this thread that is fine and dandy with it. Do I hear you condemning it?? No. I hear crickets.

That's a very interesting comment, coming from a white guy. You're telling an African/American that he shouldn't be concerned about this word? When was the last time you used it in their company?

Then why did you feel a need to point out that he was black? Did you drop the N word on him? Maybe you could convince him that it means nothing.
