You seem seem to be getting considerable pleasure out of this particular piece of spite. China, as you must know, has often broken up, and its will is no more a natural law than was America's in Vietnam. Strutters and bullies-by-proxy always believe their moment lasts forever, why I don't know.

Wow a handful of Hollywood actors who have been protesting this issue for better than two decades with zero success are going to suddenly change the world. China will control the plateau well after you, me, and all those people are dead.

I get no pleasure out of it. I don't care one way or the other. If you cannot accept political realities, then that is your problem. Referring to people as "Hitler" or "Strutters and bullies-by-proxy" may make you more comfortable with or feel more righteous in your defeat, but nobody is going to invade Tibet and kick out China when the people of Tibet wouldn't even fight for themselves. Tibet has been lost to China. People can waste their energies thinking something will be done, or they can choose to support some other cause that has a chance of succeeding. You prefer the former apparently. I would encourage you to do the latter instead.

Well if you are going to hope against hope, then that is your right. One day the earth will be destroyed by a dying sun as well, but I am pretty certain the outcome won't be relevant to the world we live in today

Democracy does not mean that Tibet will be liberated from Chinese rule.

yes even after they introduce democracy, they will still keep the tibet. there are more han living in tibet than tibetan now. its like european migirate to america, eventually native american become less, and most people in american are now whites.

Democratic rights in China will mean more stability, not less.

    What book?

I would like to read it as long as it is free and not "The Complete Manual of Suicide" of the Japanese.

Please provide the name of the book and the link where I can download it freely.

Thanks for introducing a free book to me, so now I can save a few coins under my pillow too.

Can the GDL "Humpty Dumpty" (the Grand Duchy of Lithuania which was the largest state in Europe in the 15th century) be put together again?

yes, can and will. its a huge strategical vacuum in the East Europe and small countries like L., L. , Estonia can not survive with out GDL. USA, Russia, EU need GDL in name of stability . but i m not sure about Ukrainian parts , Polish-Ukrainian federation is a possible outcome as well

Hopefully, your GDL "Humpty Dumpty" can be put together again.

If you were the leader of Russia, could you tolerate the revival of the GDL which could bring back the long nightmares of the bitter Muscovite–Lithuanian Wars (also known as Russo-Lithuanian Wars)?

Uncle Sam, however, may like to see the revival of the GDL as a means to contain Russian influence in Eastern Europe.

"The war between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Grand Duchy of Moscow lasted until 1520. In 1522 a peace was signed, under the terms of which Lithuania was forced to cede to Moscow about a quarter of its possessions within the lands of the former Kievan Rus', including Smolensk. The latter city was not retaken until almost a century later, in 1611. After the peace agreement of 1522, Grand Duchy of Lithuania tried to attack Russia one more time, but major military conflicts were settled for around 40 years."

good question. answer is yes, in 2013. just look at France and Germany. today is much batter to make business then war. Russian government can sell it to Russian people as part its of Slavophilic politic , much like they sell USSR dreams to old people today. then the nuclear weapons will keep both countries from the stupid actions

Tibet was an independent kingdom for centuries before being incorporated by force into China . Today China is pushing Han Chinese settlers into Tibet and overwhelming the native tibetans by it's own population . Very soon the tibetans will be minority in their own land .

Admittedly tibetan culture is full of superstition and China is bringing modernity . But the price to pay for this is too much---destruction of ancient tibetan culture , closure of ancient monasteries etc .

My country ( India ) has paid a terrible price for allowing the Dalai lama to remain in India along with refugees who flee from Chinese persecution . The dalai lama himself has said that ' India's generosity is beyond compare . ' But there is a steep price to be paid for such generosity . China has taken revenge by invading India in 1962 and capturing a slice of territory and regularly supplies India's arch enemy Pakistan with nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles .
