I see where he has failed in some areas. . .but most of those failures are related to the constant, vitriolic attacks and the fear mongering and racism spewed by the most extremes on the Right, and the stupidity of those who bought into that ADMITTED focus by the Right leadership to "make Obama fail!"

I believe that even Lincoln, or Kennedy, or Clinton would have had difficulties fulfilling all their promises and goals under those circumstances!

I don't think it is fair to blame the other party for the failures of a President. Liberals never cut Bush any slack and made everything his fault. And now Obama is President and the conservatives are basically doing what the liberals did under Bush. IMO the buck stops with the President... no matter what party they belong to. Its just too convenient to blame the opposition for the failures of a President.

The vitriol I see aimed at Obama by the right is no less than the left aimed at Bush. Its easy to demonize the other party when they are in power, but be incensed when the other party does the same to our guy.

The guy has a lot of class. A lot. Got a bum rap but do you hear him complaining about it? Nope!

    This thread is deliciously delusional.

On top of how y'all simply love to be lied to, y'all must have missed Professor Jonathan Turley's testimony just last week:

    http://realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/12/04/turley_obamas_become_the_very_danger_the_constitution_was_designed_to_avoid.html

A "true great American President" ...endangering the Constitution... ???

"Danger" coming from the right-wing is usually bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

I see "danger" "crisis" "fear" and other synonyms every time I turn on Fox News. With all this danger I wonder how the United States didn't implode already..

I am sorry, but I disagree. While the Left didn't like Bush (and had EXTREMELY GOOD, FACTUAL reasons not to, after he and his side-kick started an unnecessary war - - based on a LIE - - that killed over 4,000 of our soldiers, over 100,000 Iraquis, and put our economy in the tank), I have NEVER seen as much constant attacks and vitriol directed toward ANY President. . .Not even Reagan after he admitted selling arms to Nicaragua and making deals with Iran.

The Bush girls were never attacked with so much venom, even when reported drunk in public, that the two teenage Obama girls, who have been called "monkeys" and have even received death threats.

And Barbara Bush was NEVER put down and covered in ridicule for the way she dressed, what she said, or the contribution she did to the nation as Michelle Obama has been.

President Obama has been called EVERYTHING from the Anti-Christ, to a Devil, to a Communist, a Muslim, a Kenyan, an illegal, a liar. . .and not just today. . .but from the FIRST DAY he appeared to be a candidate for the Presidency!

President Bush has NEVER been threatened with "impeachment" for the 12 attacks on American embassies during his terms, or for causing the death of over 4,000 Americans, or for ignoring the warning prior to 9/11 as President Obama has been vilified and threatened over this 4 unfortunate death in Benghazi.

Rewriting history will not work on this one. . .there are too many videos and articles that bear witness to this FALSE equivalency!

Hahahaha! I posted horrible things about Bush and Laura and the Bush daughters from the 'dangling chad' events to the tag end of 2007, when Bush become so pathetic as a lame duck president that the game finally lost its savor. Oh . . . and I was not alone. Leftwingers posting right along with me wrote things just as bad or worse about Bush, his wife, and his daughters. Compared to how G.W. Bush was treated or how Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton were treated, Barack and Michelle and their two daughters have gotten kid gloves treatment from the get-go.

    I ABSOLUTELY disagree!

So. . why don't you give us some REAL examples of how badly Bush was treated. . .?

Oh I'd love to but my old political forums system no longer exists. Still anyone interested could probably don intellectually spelunking gear and dive through the archives of other boards (political forums systems) that were operational and thriving back then. But off the top of my memory I personally accused the Shrub of deliberate murder when first he used a drone to execute a suspected enemy terrorist. I endlessly accused him of being a warmonger who sold out this nation to Halliburton. I said that he deliberately lied to this nation and set Powell up to look like a fool with the Yellow Cake incident . . . and it went on and on and on.

Good times those were, for posters advocating Left of Center stances. Then there was all the fun to be had mocking his intellect and his character -- you know, cocaine addict and reformed drunk. His cowardice during his time in the Texas Air National Guard and so forth and so on. I forget how often I called for a special prosecutor to be assigned to investigate him up one side and down the other and how often I called for impeachment . . . and for all of that I was still rather reserved compared to the true Leftwingers posting along with me. Now THEY realllllllllllllllly didn't like the chimp.

Great points all, to which I am in almost complete agreement... but... I can see the failures of Obama also.

Your memory is much in line with my own. When I joined in 2004 the amount to seething hatred spewed towards all things Bush... including his family... was absolutely shocking and deplorable. How far back do the archives go? Anyone know?

Good question. I just might investigate and see. It would be interesting to review some of that stuff in regards to the nature of the seething emotions.

Bush - Aghanistian Invasion, Iraq War based on false pretense of WMD, New Tax cuts which took trillions off revenue, fiancial crisis

Obama - economic recovery, well intentioned healthcare reform to fix a healthcare that is a mess, no new wars...

Here's what i see here. What happened under Bush was so bad that democrats stepped on him but felt bad for him and felt they could benefit from it. Obama is a different story. You see, there's a good chance that the economy will be thriving in a couple of years, that this healthcare reform will work and that no wars arise... This strikes FEAR in republicans. The hardcore republicans don't give a DAMN about the Country, they just want Obama to fail. Obama succeeding is terrifying for them as it would most likley result in a democrat revolution and a republican downfall. If Obama fails, republicans will most likely gain ground...

This FEAR is what has resulted in this vicious assault on Obama - the Kenyan, the communist, the socialist, the antichrist, the liar, Muslim, worshiper of the Quran.. I don't think race is a major factor here but sometimes i wonder cause some of the viciousness directed at him is really wild

Republicans may respond to this claiming i'm full of crap and blah blah blah but deep inside they know there is some truth to this. There is absolute FEAR of Obama's successes spreading like wildfire into congress, resulting in a republican annihialation.

I have my issues with Obama, and I think he's one of the weaker democratic presidents we've had (which still makes him better than the last four Republican presidents). However, him being elected caused the biggest collective brain fart in history among the racist right wingers, and for that I'm glad he was elected. Minorities have sat back and watched the right wing racists attack him like no other president has ever been attacked before, not to mention relentlessly bashing blacks, "Hispanics", Muslims, etc like they never have before. Prior to Obama, the racists could pretend to be civil, but now that a black family lives in the White House, they can no longer contain themselves.

Cons shut down the government and threatened default in a desperate attempt to repeal Obamacare. That wasn't just for show, no way. Anti-ACA posterboy Ted Cruz then goes on Limbaugh and basically admits that his treasonous party wants to repeal the law before Americans get "addicted to the sugar". IOW, repeal it before the public realizes how much better it is than the old system. That's when I knew the Cons were scared to death of Obamacare. The botched rollout was a brief blessing for them and they pounced all over it, but it won't last. A year from now, no one will care. They NEED it to fail, and are doing everything in their power to make it fail with their disgusting smear campaign, but it won't work either. Not in the long run, anyway. Their actions are very telling though.

He's a filthy lying psychopath and nothing more. He knows how to play the political game for those who hired him to run on the (D) ticket and wow the dumbed down voters, and that's it.

I love your chart, as a tool of pure distortion it's one of the best things I've seen yet.

Obama largely stopped the Iraqi war, for which we had really NO justification or even interests of any kind, legitimate or not, to defend along with the just about complete disapproval of the world, and put the effort into Afghanistan, for which we had about the most legitimate casus belli I can think of and the complete support of the UN and all nations. The chart reflects nothing more than the rank stupidity of the Bush Administration which, in Afghanistan, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory to go off and fight a mad Crusade to turn the oldest culture on Earth into West Texas on the Euphrates while allowing the Taliban, a vanquished force on the verge of surrender, eight long years to rebuild their forces. The Afghanistan War has been a credit to American restraint, mercy and humanity in the face of one of the most vicious and dastardly affronts of terror that any civilized nation has ever had to endure. The Iraq war was an unnecessary, illegal and stupid disgrace to our country, and will reflect badly on us throughout the rest of our history

Are you being disengenuous or are you just outright lying? I would find the policies Obama and the Democrats has foisted upon the American people to be border line insane were he caucasian Asian or Australian aborigine and no matter what ethnic group he belonged to. I have yet to meet anyone on the right who gives a damn about Obama's skin color, but there sure seems to be a hell of a lot of people on the left to whom it matters greatly , and you ought to be ashamed of yourselves but all too many of you aren't that intellectually honest.

If being a pathological liar is "great", then he might have something.

    Well, you can't, Obama's are fiction and Limbaugh's aren't.
