http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/12/19/us-usa-gaymarriage-newmexico-idUSBRE9BI11E20131219 Congratulations to those living in New Mexico! And to those who said New Mexico's Constitution could not be interpreted to allow same-sex marriage...told ya so (sorry, I couldn't resist).
Dixon previously said my now-accurate prediction of the NM Supreme Court finding that prohibiting same-sex couples from marriage was "wishful thinking". Ha.
Why can't some with homophobic and bigoted thinking, NOT realize that things bend toward what is fair and right? Whenever some people try to tell me that "life is not fair" and leave it at that... I realize that they don't take justice or reciprocity very seriously. Just as water always seeks its level, so it is with justice where it must be served. (It's virtually relentless.)
Technically just 'gay marriage', not 'marriage equality' (ex. in many states first cousin's can't get married)
Nevertheless, if people PUSH for equality... then that is what will be achieved. That's fairly evident.
Agreed, although some might say that there are different and overriding concerns that justify why that particular case should be restricted, which of course has nothing to do with same-sex couples. But absent any such considerations, I agree that we may still have a distance to go, not that I would not call this a giant step in the right direction.
