Lol, what do you plan to fight with? Perhaps you plan to shock them into submission with your extreme carelessness.

As for owning a gun? It's a RIGHT, you don't have to own one, no matter how foolish I think you are. However, the 100 million or so of your countrymen that DO exercise that right would appreciate your support.

Would you use a gun to achieve your goals?

A beter question is HOW would you use a gun to achieve your goals? When do you decide a gun is necessary? Where and how will you use it?

I don't believe guns are necessary for me to accomplish anything. As I said earlier, I own no guns.

I use guns to achieve goals all the time. My Browning X-bolt put damn near 300lbs of meat in the freezer, my Sks dropped 3 coyotes for a local farmer and friend, my Springfield RO rests on my hip for protection of myself and family.

And yes, if it ever came too it, I would use my weapons to defend the Constitution and any rights you happen to care about.

That's cool. I go to the supermarket or butcher shop for my meat (Which I too refrigerate). My phone rests on my hip so If I need to call the police, I will have the means to do so.

Since I own no weapons, I'll let you go out with your guns and deal business. :)

Fair enough, in the mean time your support of our 2nd Amendment rights would be appreciated. I genuinely hope you never find yourself in need of the police to protect you or a loved one.

I do hope you plan for other uncommon calamities, extended power outages, large scale riots, or God forbid something on a scale like Katrina....local supermarkets have limits.

It always amazes me how many Americans claim to "live off the land" - you must have a much much higher game population per acre than we do - also far more areas to HUNT game.

    - - - Updated - - -

But HOW is the gun going to "protect your rights" - what is the plan?

Lol, as much as I love the country, my wife and daughter like the city. I too make good use of Supermarkets. I do think you would be amazed at the wilderness that surrounds us and how well managed it is.

Hunting deer or Elk is a yearly 3 or 4 day trip with friends...maybe an hour drive out of town. My son and I enjoy fishing and spend a lot if time enjoying the great Northwests lakes and rivers. Hunting any birds other than turkeys is kinda thin around here...but there are several ranches that cater to that, does not seem very sporting to me though.

I actually have no issue with sporting use of firearms - it is the other myths that lead to gun injury that concern me

Big huge face palm here! You see, B-bird, every single time I have ever had to use my firearms to defend my life or the lives of others, it has been while I was in the act of "sporting use".
We do in fact have vastly more wilderness than Australia, as well as huge populations of critters throughout the farmlands. There is nowhere near enough population density of game animals to support all of the people, but more than enough for those who engage in hunting.
Now, why do you keep harping on American gun deaths per capita, when the actual murder rate in Australia is at least as high as ours, but by different methods?

Meh! Does not count because THAT is not the myth issue I have a problem with
Good - then let those who are hunters have the guns
I have where? And BTW - no comparison ours are much lower than yours no matter how you count (unless of course you are double counting)

Whether my conflicts conform to your criteria is of less than any consideration to me! The fact, as I experienced it was that I came into grave danger, and the ONLY way to resolve these situations was by the use of my firearms.
Again, I can't stress enough that you are a total alien to American culture, and you have ZERO business giving us any advice about how to run our affairs. ZERO!
You say "let the hunters have the guns".
Guess what? This ain't Europe! We fought and won the wars to make that distinction! I reserve the right to "hunt" those who assault or otherwise endanger me. At that level, I can agree that we "hunters" will have our guns.
As for the rest of what amounts to your endless drivel, this has all been addressed many times, in many other threads. You know the whole path, and I'm not going back over it with you.

It is called being prepared for what can and does happen. That is much different than being paranoid.

That's the same thing as trying to prepare of a meteorite striking in your back yard.

How much do you want to bet you would be much more likely to be a victim of crime than a meteorite? I wish I could be so naive to think that crime will only happen to someone else.

Think about this; what's the worst they can do to you perpetrating a crime? Kill you? So what, we all got to die someday you know.

How ignoble of you...let a criminal have success at the expense of a law abiding citizen....BTW this is the typical anti-gun belief. Criminals are more important than law abiding citizens...Way to go GW

So, you criticize those who don't feel they need a gun; how American of you.

The usual response to the somewhat arrogant response that other people are somehow less than when you claim they are "paranoid" because they want to protect their families which will backfire on you from people that understand that the only first defense is you, which is fact of experience from time immemorial so don't whine when you get criticized after criticizing others.
