I have found this is one topic that is not necessarily reliant on political leaning, and would love to hear everyone's thoughts. Please let's try to keep this discussion away from personal insults and flame-baiting.

I don't think it was an inside job. One dirty secret of 9/11 I can personally vouch for though, is that line workers of Middle Eastern ethnicity were leaving Wall Street employment en masse in the two months before 9/11. It was like every person of ME descent just up and left all at once. No one had the cojones to make a big very UnPC thing of it, or bring it out into the light of day (not that MSM would have paid any attention) but I verified it with friends working all up and down Wall Street, same thing happened at their firms at the time. IMO lots of people knew about 9/11 before it happened, but I doubt the US govt did. I am not claiming that -all- ME descent knew of it because small ME owned businesses were some of the hardest hit, just that a truly anomalous number of Wall Street people of ME descent were up and gone out of the area by 9/11.

are you suggesting that there was probably rumors going around through certain parts of the middle eastern community that "something was going to happen" in fall of 2001? Given the two month time frame you mention then obviously there was nothing definite. Just probably rumors about that time of year.

Note, a two month window give or take would still not be "actionable intelligence" if the U.S. govt. had been aware of it.

Remember technically Pearl Harbor was predicted to be attacked within a week of when it actually happened (problem being that it was predicted the week before on Nov. 30th IIRC by Army signal intelligence).

that doesn't mean FDRs govt. knew it was going to happen though.

Mild rumors that would cause people to up and leave their jobs and move out of NYC entirely? Sure, could be, and what I posted could have been coincidence. I don't think it was though.

I do believe the US government was complicit. I don't think they actually perpetrated it, like some do. I think they just sat back and let it happen, like we all saw them do. "Hmm, a plane hit the World Trade Center? My, this book about goats is interesting. I think I'll see how this one ends..."

Placing this in the polls forum seems adequate. It is a poll, after all.

Personally I have no clue. Governments all around the world gained a lot of power, so the motive is there - but I can't see any hard evidence. Partly because one has to navigate through all the nonsense about holographic planes and FEMA.

Does it really matter at this point.

If it was it has been covered up well, and if it wasn't some people will never accept it.

Might as well be asking how old the earth is, and did Jesus ride dinosaurs. Just opinions at this point.

No, you misunderstood me. The other poster said "there is a place for conspiracy theories", meaning that you should have posted your thread there. I said "there is also a place for polls", which is the subforum that you posted this poll in. You posted in the right place. You advanced no conspiracy theory, you asked people to vote in a poll.

The effect of 9/11 is not a conspiracy, it has caused revolutionary groups such as ae911truth, truthers, wac, and others.
9/11 became like a religion; one group that became believers (politically labeled as 'truthers' and 'birthers') and another group of non-believers (notice; non believers not politically labeled, that makes the believers the important group, the group that came in motion and started fighting)
Yes/No questions always lead to two opposite sides (same with left vs right or pro vs anti), that started to argue, seek and fight.

Look how long people have discussed and studied the JFK assasination, for decades, the same has happened since 9/11, and the absolute truth will never be found.
History is full of tyranny. For thousands of years periods of tyranny, slavery and in between the periods of relative freedom (because there is always hierarchy in nature) The tyranny or (nowadays) terror has always led to movements (resistance in the old days from slaves), empires and wars.
The two most important things is that tyranny leads to invisible motion and/or invisible awakening in millions (so a process happens while you can't see, same with ideology, an near invisible process (running in the backgrond all the time)
Nature simply deals with overpopulation all the time, that is why there are bad and good people and an neverending struggle (survival... of the fittest, and the people are once agains not fit enough, but have one powerful system, the internet (as Pandora in the movie Avatar, the reason why politics invented 'netneutrallity' and in Brasil even an internet constitution was created (that internet constiution looks the same as a conspiracy theory, cannot be proven)

As I have explained in the conspiracy section, under the chapter 9/11, my opinion is that NSA, FBI and CIA before and NORAD and air defense during the events, showed an unsuitable attitude, training and preparation.

NORAD knew about the hijacking more than 15 minutes before the first crash. They thought to the usual hijacking with terrorists taking land in some remote airport, keeping the passengers as hostages and asking for this and that.

If they put together all the "background noise" collected around, related to the eventuality to use hijacked planes as flying bombs for kamikaze terror attacks ...

The command chain would have warned the administration asking for a political final decision: to destroy those planes still in the air or not [killing for sure terrorists and passengers]?

Now, they say they lost the trace of the planes ... honestly if this is true [here I can see a bit of "cover up", but to hide incompetence, not an inside job], they were even less suitable than I could expect ...

Perhaps a more important question is whether or not Dr. P. M. H. Atwater is correct about a "soul wave" forming in the higher dimensions in the hours and days after 9-11 or not?

Got to agree. I think it was a primarily Saudi extremist job, as indicated by the suspects' known backgrounds. Not that this would make it necessarily knowingly supported by any of Saudi Arabia's leaders, but I think there likely are guilty men running around that country still, perhaps unidentified and definitely unpunished.

People who believe that 9/11 was an inside job are nothing more than pathetic, paranoid, losers.

It may be a ridiculous idea but, start peeling away the particulars and suddenly, it doesn't seem quite so ridiculous.

No, I don't think so because I don't think our government could be that evil. Even the current one.
