It' s the only thing we have, and you as well. Anyway i already said i'm not totally distrustful towards armed people, but by no means i' d like the idea that everyone could buy and keep a firearm. I dunno how europeans could do with many firearms and a sudden gun culture spread, i think it's much better for us to be unarmed, considering the rise of far right parties and our past.

 

Do you really think that human nature is different today then in the time of Cain and Abel? We certainly seem to be a world moving away from a belief in and accountability to God...does that provide you hope that people are or will be better behaved because of this perception?

 

Considering the vast majority of terrorist activities are conducted by Left wing groups according to the FBI terror watch list, I don't see how there's a "rise of far right parties" that should make anyone nervous. Why ignore the large numbers of guns in places like Canada, New Zealand, and Switzerland?

 

What you have is 10,000+ needless deaths from guns every year. I realise it's just a small price to pay in the percentage game you call 'freedom'.

 

Switzerland is a very different matter. They have compulsory military service and reservists are required to keep their government issue weapons at home. Compare all the above nations' per capita gun crime death rates to yours and consider why yours are so appallingly high.

Perhaps, but many such as Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Kim Il Sung, Nero, Caligula, Attila the Hun Genghis Khan etc. were mostly likely inspired by their own imagination...the good ole days...some in this list headed a country or organization that were God haters...way things are going I think their self-centered belief system may be making a come back.
