Actually they do, compared to when I was 12 & buying ciggeretts at the local candy store, or 16 & asking people to buy a quart of beer in front of the package store.

    LOL...kids already sell it.

People will make a buck however they can.

But the same reasons kids are not selling booze from the street corners is the same reason that they won't be selling pot from street corners once it is legalized- there will be no large profit motivation.

You may be right,,I cant be so certain to definitely disagree. Kids will get it easily though

I know this though, if people could get Booze tax free they would sell it. They just cant ship enough for it to be that profitable, this thing with legal Pot will be a new animal, closer to illegal cigarettes..and there is Billions in that.

Really the answer to that is simple.

If taxes are so high that a black market is established, then the taxes should be lowered.

I believe that has been the case with cigarettes- black markets will not exist if it is more profitable and safer to sell legally.

True, we been saying it for years. Smokers rather buy at the regular stores if they could, the difference is just too much.

A carton at the store is around eighty bucks in NY, at the reservations a carton is about 26. THAT'S HUGE! NY has been losing a fortune in tax's, but they wont budge, it's an agenda thing. Problem being is how do you justify charging that much for cigarettes and say the reason is cancer, when it has been shown Pot does the same thing.
    You cant....

I think you've bought into the propaganda WAY too deeply. I know a LOT of people who use marijuana, myself included. Some of them are wake-n-bake types, others are just occasional users. None of my friends seek out "laced" weed. I don't even know what "laced" weed is, nor would I have any desire to get it unless I myself was "lacing" it.

social networking txting, if they don't already have they'll know someone who does...not much different than I was that age almost 50 yrs ago... there was always an older brother, sister, mom or dad who would supply cigarettes or booze or we would take it without asking...the same for pot, only our parents never had any just our peers....

In the netherlands they were a few years ago considering moving some pot into the hard drug category, anything with over 15%thc...I was in Amsterdam with my kids in 2009 and we dropped into one of the "cafes" to sample the goods...well I'll tell ya that was like no pot I ever had in my teens and 20s, :omg::eyepopping:...luckily I had two 18yr olds to help me back to the hotel...

Changing it to a "hard drug" doesn't make any sense. It just decreases the amount needed to get high. Recently, my friend informed me that what he gave me was a "two hitter". Unfortunately, he told me that immediately after I took a third hit lol...

Legalizing pot only makes sense to a pothead. You never hear any non-users suggest it be legalized, do you?

I honestly never heard of any one who would want "laced" weed either.

That's a little different from the phony pot that is sold because it is legal.

    Yeah you do.

Here's a page listing folks talking about legalization of legalization of marijuana, including Glen Beck, Pat Robertson, Rick Perry, Bill OReilly, Sean Hannity, John McCain, Grover Norquist, and many others. Of course, they could all be secret potheads, I guess.

    http://marijuanamajority.com/?id=443

There are many strong arguments supporting legalization whether you personally use or not.

Well, until someone who doesn't smoke weed comes along and gives a good reason to legalize it, I'm convinced it's a one-sided issue.

What difference does it make if the arguments are rational and supported with sound evidence?

Back when I was a kid I heard urban myths about LSD laced marijuana, but based on how you dose LSD, I'm not sure even if there were any such thing that smoking it would work. I think it probably just yet another drug warrior lie.

Well, if the person making the argument was not biased because of being a pot smoker, I may be willing to listen to them.

    Yet another argument for legalization.

People who choose to use can get drugs that are regulated instead of being supplied by lord knows who.

the question isn't whether legalizing pot will reduce crime. If you want to reduce crime make alcohol use illegal. But that won't happen as the Federal, State and local governments make too much money off of alcohol sales. As they do from tobacco sales, a deadly drug. We can do away with Private Prisons that cost taxpayers billions of dollars if we legalize marijuana and we can then redirect the money saved to rehabilitating offenders and helping them to gain full time employment when they are released. With out gainful employment they are doomed and have little chance in succeeding in life.

Legalizing pot will have as much impact on Drug War crime as if they had only legalized beer & left spirits in the hands of Gangsters, when repealing the 18th. Amendment.
As long as addictive drugs remain in the hands of criminals, unstead of the medical proffesion crime will continue to escalate, pols & cops will continue to relie on the payoffs from criminals (the elephant in the room), private prisons will prosper, in short libs will fell good about themselves yet have done little to curb the underground (criminal controled) drug market.
