Reported from Detroit - began indiscriminate off water. Until late summer planned disconnected from water debtors 120,000 - 17% of the population (an average of 3000 per week!). It is reported that the total debt for water is $ 118 million, and the average monthly bill for water is $ 75 (and increased by 119% in 10 years). About the expected consequences for sanitary safety are not reported. Observers from neighboring Canada characterize developments as a "social crime." http://www.mintpressnews.com/detroit-cuts-off-water-to-thousands-unable-to-pay-their-bills/191560/
U.S. closer to African standards of living standards. One in five children lives in poverty, people are forced to live without water, because there is no work. Drug addiction and AIDS. The army goes on gay parades. Mad debts. (without the loan will finance the collapse of the economy). And a black president. In the political arena, the U.S. behave like crazy Cannibal. Soon the U.S. will turn into Somalia. Welcome to the new world.

P / S: By the way, you imagine what would happen when from dollar will get rid of? Will buy the yuan or ruble.

Detroit is a casualty of Democratic party politics. The majority of US citizens enjoy a very high living standard.

What's wrong with - "Don't pay your utility bills and get cut off"?

It goes everywhere else in this country!

    I totally agree in principle.

OTOH, is this cutting off the nose to spite the face? No water leads to unsanitary conditions leads to disease and sickness. You think that the paltry $118 million in bad debt would not be completely eclipsed by the medical and social needs of 120,000 people in a single year?

Not pretty anyway you want to look at it.

Maybe Detroit needs to hand out the easy reading book "Who Moved My Cheese" to those who can't find work in their neighborhood. The unemployed need to get a clue.

Michigan should exile Detroit into its own separate state.

I guess, in a way, it already has.

The thing about this is the city's government is dominated by those caring humanitarian liberals.

(laughs) That's funny. "Detroit is a casualty of Democratic party politics." Now is a casualty of U.S. government politics - the whole country. Detroit - this is what awaits the United States.

    P / S: translator really bad.

True, not to mention that most in Detroit will be filling up the ER and yet again, have the tax payer pay for their ER visit along with the meds...Bad either way

Citizens of Detroit live on the largest fresh water lake in the world. If they want to get some water, then I encourage them to walk down to lake Michigan and people will distribute it to them. How is this even news? People who can't afford running water shouldn't get running water. That's what the public wells are for. The people here are lazy and to involved in their sets. Bound time the mayor force them to take one of our many minimum wage job openings.

This, in fairness, is false. The republicans control almost all of the seats in Michigan through gerrymandering. Te only mayors of Detroit have been independent or republican, with the exception of Douglass, our current mayor (Who built a 20 billion dollar casino district that will create 100's of high paying jobs for our citizens)

    - - - Updated - - -

Exactly. Why did he pass this off as news? At least in Michigan your always 5 minutes from fresh water. We have 10,000 lakes.

I partially agree. Social and infrastructure issues are actually hindering growth. People don't have cars, subways, or even buses to get to their jobs. There's no police, so citizens get robbed often, and most small business's go near bankrupt from crime. We have a lot of sick people who can't work, and are being payed for by the government. We also suffer from a lack of public housing, which causes the populous to wander the streets begging instead of looking for jobs.

The GOP endorsed candidates have stripped any government service that could possibly help the people get back into the workforce. Under their leadership, they diverted most of our democratic lobbied subsidies back to GOP businesses, like Kellogg Cereal. Its almost as if their purposefully trying to destroy the state from within.

Alright genius, how would you create the 10,000's of jobs that don't exist for the unemployed? No really. What do you recommend the lazy black and arab welfare maggots do? You can't swat the bee for having no honey to harvest. Or some metaphor like that.

Detroit is still the most profitable part of the state. The problem, like most of America, has been what to do about those who have no jobs, and are receiving benefits from the state. There's only so much you can do. You can't export them, and its a human rights violation to let them die. What do you do for people with no jobs, and have no job openings to take?

    - - - Updated - - -

Its ran by conservatives. All of Michigan is, so watch where you point the finger.

    - - - Updated - - -

Oh, will you answer my question of why they can't walk to the lake?

Enabling them to move to places that have jobs would be the best thing for them. Even if Detroit manages to take out more loans and give them another generation of welfare, they will still hate their betters because they know that they are the underclass when living off of welfare and spite is natural to underclass parasites, whether their needs are met or not because they know someone else is in charge of their own lives.

First of all, I am opposed that every time you refute someone, you never quote their name. What are you afraid of? You haven't answered my question though. Why should the citizens be given free running water? I say they either go to the community center or the lake to bathe, but why should they be given things they can't pay for?

Will you answer me this time?

    - - - Updated - - -

There are no jobs though. There's litterally 100,000's more people than job openings. How would you propose we create these jobs? You republicans act like they come out of thin air.

For you, anything. People should be able to get a job. Therefore, to be able to pay for water. U.S. Government policy aims to start another war. Instead of saving (and increasing) jobs. American production went to South East Asia. So profitable American oligarchs. According to this, the oligarchs (they - is government) could care about ordinary people. Or do you think differently?

Don't try to redirect your own proof burden on me. I didn't make any affirmative statements. I repeat, how will you create 10,000's of jobs out of thin air? Come on, I would love to see you defend this claim.

You did it again. Your afraid to quote me with my name in it. Do you not want me to see your rebuttal? Why do this, if not so? Let me ask you, how will you create these jobs? Do you think its that easy? Governments don't create jobs, the market does. This wasn't even my question though. Why did you make this article like Detroiter's are entitled to free water?

Why can't they walk to the lake or community center, where its already available? Let me ask you something else. If thee government is spending less giving people free water, wont it have more to put back into the economy? What's your excuse for bashing on America this time. Judging from your name, I take it your from the east, but I'm not sure. I would love to redirect my criticism.

I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear. I was referring to your statement about Detroit's government.

Creating jobs is something I know absolutely zero about, so I have nothing to say on the matter.
