I challenge anyone to argue that SCOTUS will establish gay marriage as a right

Sounds like you do have a dog in the fight though. If not what are you doing here? You sound angry or at lease upset about the progress with gay rights. "America's slobbery romance with gays" Seriously?

I do not think it is healthy. Putting yourself on a forum and for the most part staying in the gay threads. The world will pass you by.

What else would you call it? As you keep pointing out, gays have been handed many rights they didn't enjoy before Barack Obama took office. Just saying... no guarantee future presidents will be such advocates. You never know, the next president might work harder for 98% of the population than he does for the 2% of American gays.

Nothing is forever... heck, at one time in history, pedophilia was accepted as the norm.

By the time Obama leaves office it will be a done deal. And there are many more forces at work than the policies of the president. Maybe you don't believe that 70% of people under 30 support gay marriage as do a majority of Americans.

I don't know for a fact that pedophilia was ever accepted as the norm but the fact that it's illegal represents an example of the evolving standards of human decency as does the advance of gay rights. Right , nothing is forever and change usually means progress.

The biggest thing that cracks me up about this whole issue, is that if tomorrow same-sex marriage were legalized nationwide, but with absolutely no press, no announcements, no sensational news, just a silent change, how long would it take for most people to even notice. I have a gay friend, who considers himself married to his long time partner. Legally, he's not. Yet. As soon as he can, he will be, but aside from the fact that I'm a friend, and probably will get invited to the actual wedding, even I wouldn't notice if they just privately eloped.

The Constitution says all persons must be afforded equal rights.

The right to marry someone we choose, who is not a relative and nor a minor, appears to be considered a fundamental human right.

Gays do not have that right, and since the Constitution does not differentiate between Gays and Straight people, Gays should have the right to marry non-relative adults.

thats how the Constitution is written.

    No it doesn't.

Yes, they do. They aren't the least bit interested in exercising it. What homosexual proponents of "SSM" want is to pretend to be married and intimidate the rest of society into acknowledging that pretense as reality.

You don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Yup. When it happened in NJ last fall, there were a few articles in the local paper. One after the ruling and one or two when the appeal was dropped. That was it. It's over. In my daily interactions, there has hardly been a word about it. I'm willing to be that there are some people who don't even know what happened.

Roughly 20 Courts, including 3 at the Appellate level have said he's right and you're wrong. Not a single one, NOT ONE, has found your side to have compelling arguements. I'd say that leads to a high likelihood that it is you who lacks knowledge about what you are speaking about.

I sort of feel sorry for you. All that hate bottled up inside. It must be dragging you down? Health issue maybe. Relationships? It must be terrible to be you.

Nobody with a lick of sense cares if 20 million courts said it.

Of course you would, because you're the sort of creature who needs external affirmation for the lies he holds dear, and with which he hopes to endarken others.

Bad try - though not without its amusement value, I must admit. ;)

Well, while I doubt there are a total of 20 million Courts in the Country, unfortunately for you, what the Courts have to say ultimately determine what's going to happen. You are on the losing side of history of this one, and I suspect, despite your protestations here, you know it. And you and your ilk are going to look very silly in the eyes of history.

Actually the careful reader will note that I have made no predictions; but I do know that you've already lost.

To be sure, as Orwell observed, who controls the present controls the past; but you're not gonna like it when the controllers feel free to unmask themsleves.

And so incurious, to put it in a way that won't get me into trouble here. You have convinced yourself that you know everything that you need or want to know about gays and have no interest in learning anything more. You must be very......blissful. ( you know what I'm getting at ) Either that or your a tormented soul. I can't tell which.

In more than 20 court rulings, including 3 at the appellate level, we're undefeated. I think your prediction borders on insanity.

Exactly. You, OTOH, are blissfully oblivious to the essence of homosexuality, which is of a piece with that of all other perversions under the sun - presumably including, not coincidentally, your own.

I suggest you not worry your pretty little head about it; and if you insist on engaging me further, you would be well advised to cease and desist from such transparent attempts at manipulation. ;)

Obviously you didn't understand a word I said - a natural enough defense mechanism, considering the threat such understanding poses to your delusion of sanity.

I understand everything that you said and find it opprobrious and revolting. I would add that it is those who have a need to hate and marginalize others are the ones who's sanity is questionable. have a good evening. I will be watching and I will call you on your bovine excrement

    Sounds like a personal problem.

To be sure. Happily, unlike you, I have no such need.

I happen to agree with you that the Christians in our government are the cause of many of our problems but that is a subject for a new thread.

Take your boyfriend to any Christian church and lay a big smooch on him right in front of everybody. Then go to a Mosque, right here in this country, say in a Detroit/Dearborn mosque, and do the same thing and see what happens.

Take a vacation to France or the UK (or Pakistan or Iran if you really feel daring), and do the same thing and see what happens. You saw what they did to the British soldier in broad daylight a few blocks from downtown London last year. Beheaded in broad daylight. And don't tell me that these are radicals. A MAJORITY of Muslims worldwide want to be ruled under Sharia law and Sharia law includes death for apostates and homosexuality as well as hand amputations for theft. This is mainstream thinking in Islam.

The Christian "right wing nut" you refer to will disagree with you, but there isn't a Christian anywhere in the world that is going to cut off your head for being gay.

They didn't declare a corporation as "a living breathing person", they declared that corporations have legal personhood. This isn't anything new, it's been that way for pretty much ever. Without legal personhood for corporations, they could not make cobtracts, so, or BE SUED. Would you prefer corporate immunity to legal suit?

That's what I said... things always change. Enjoy Obama's pandering. He won't be president forever.

Anti gay marriage proponents saw their beliefs trampled. Same thing could happen to gays some day -- in the name of progress.

agree, Many have been killed in the name of Christianity... and if they knew society would let them get away with it, they may even do it again..... but as of right now in this time in history, Christians are the safer religion
