Let's put a pacifist in the ring with Mike Tyson. Who do you think will win the fight?

I've said it before, but the biggest weakness of conservatives and/or Republicans is their trusting nature. You don't understand the nature of the enemy. You may feel all warm and fuzzy by reaching out the olive branch, but the group you're handing it to would slice your children's throats if it meant that their left-wing agenda would be advanced. They're like Islamic terrorists, the only language they speak is power and force. You don't defeat them by being nice to them. You defeat them by breaking their backs politically until they no longer have the strength to fight. As long as conservatives and Republicans think like you and 10A, they can expect to lose time and time again, especially as the demographics of this country turn more and more in their favor. They're going to get nastier, and you're going to get more pacifistic.

    Democrats will keep the filibuster.

That means nothing happens without their consent.

They went Nuclear....don't ya remember? Meaning, can't block with 60 votes anymore.

Besides....at the rate Republicans are going....we might just have very close to that number. All we'd need is a couple Democrats in conservative states to vote with us. After the whuppin' the Dems are taking tonight.....that will be rather easy.

But why would they need it? They've been complaining about obstructionism for 4 years and talking about the importance of compromise. Are you suggesting they are going to obstruct Congress and the will of the American people? Wouldn't that make them giant hypocrites?

How can I oppose something and then turn around and encourage it from someone else? How is that not hypocritical and how does that not invalidate anything else I would have to say? I choose to believe in diplomacy over a "you did it so I can too" kind of attitude because once that becomes the normal then we all lose.

thats about my feelings. republicans have to prove themselves for me. fortunately my Govenor has done just that so far.

as far as the democrats go...they have just shown their true colors the last few years. eventually even all the illegals will se it. after that the democrats will probably have to import martians to stay relevant in elections. looks like the republicans have figured out all the voting under-tactics the dems used to their advantage....thank god.

So you're saying that democrats are fine with the filibuster now? I suppose it's one of those "you're against it until you're for it" scenarios.

OK,I'll give them more time to turn this country around then they gave Obama. Repubs in here wanted everything to change in two months after his election despite Senator %itch McConnell saying the number 1 priority was to stop Obama NOT create jobs or improve the economy or fix immigration or end wars, but get Obama ONLY.. Now let's see Republicans go for it. They got the power, now they should fix the country, they have two years....

I'll give them two years to give everyone a job, living wages, establish fair taxation, end terrorism, end ebola, end war,

Democrats were always for the filibuster.

they just don't want it abused, like what the GOP has been doing since 2006.

You should believe in victory. This moral high ground grandstanding and self-congratulatory puffery is how conservatives and Republicans lose so often. You go over there and pat yourselves on the back for being so righteous, let winners take control. Your enemy doesn't care about doing the right thing and making you feel better when you lose. They'll kick you in the gutter when you fall down. Again, you don't understand their nature and why you should do everything in your power to make sure they don't win.

    Screw Republicans.

Absolutely I'm pleased with the ability to curtain this Prez...but, most his actions he had not Constitutionally anyway. What does that say about our other branches? We are not to have a King.

The other branches are in dereliction of their constitutional responsibility.

And I suppose you're going to try and say that democrats aren't going to abuse it right?

I understand them perfectly. I just don't feel the need to behave or encourage the type of actions that I condemn. If you're complaint against me in this is because I choose to try and be a better person then I'm afraid this is just going to have to be one of those agree to disagree situations.

Wow... as more of the results come in the more the nation is rejecting Democrats.

Either Barack lets the Republicans make him a good president over the next 2 years or Hillary can kiss the Presidency chances goodbye.

Let's see how narcissistic the President is. Will he destroy his party or will he allow things like the Keystone Pipeline, Foreign Tax Rates to Reduce, and Immigration Reform on the Republicans' terms.
