Kudos to the House! Now, we'll see just how serious Landrieu and Reid are about getting lame-duck Dems on-board to get this done in the Senate. Then on to the prez......to see if he still is more concerned about his environmental base OR creating MORE jobs!

BTW, Obama continues to use the excuse.....that he's letting the review process take its course. There is NO REVIEW PROCESS. He's been saying this since Hillary was S.O.S......and it doesn't take this long for a "review" process. He's clearly stalled long enough.

"The House voted Friday to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline, sending the bill to the Senate for a showdown vote next week that could -- for the first time -- put the legislation on President Obama's desk.

The measure passed Friday on a 252-161 vote, with 31 Democrats joining Republicans to approve it. An identical bill is expected to be voted on in the Senate on Tuesday.

The legislation has re-emerged after Democratic Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu began championing it, in a bid to not only help the energy industry but also her struggling runoff Senate bid. In response, Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy, who is running against Landrieu in the runoff, sponsored the House bill that was approved on Friday."

So as we already knew, the GOP wants to create part-time, TEMP jobs. (XL Pipeline)

Tell me again how they are different from the DEMS again?

Here meet the new boss, same as the old boss. SMH

interesting, please share with us how you know your assertion to be factual. I cannot imagine that union bosses would agree with part time labor building the pipeline but, once you enlighten us then i will know.

It's not part-time. Some of these jobs will last years. Part-time is what Obama did through the ACA.....causing many jobs to be moved into the part-time category. This will put many people to work and create a lot of side-line businesses to support them. And what better deal than to have a partnership in energy production than with our Canadian friends. Screw the Middle East!!!

So it is not surprising that you are against putting people to work.

No, I'm all for putting people to work, just like Republicans - yepper, from where I sit (well away from that 2,000+ mile sewer line), we'll have a lot of jobs cleaning up the mess it will make in the future.

I'm sure it't not any dirtier than the taxpayer subsidized coal being mined from federal lands that we ship to China. You do know that soot rises into the atmosphere and makes it's way back here, right? Do you ever complain about that?

So let me get this straight. We think its a good idea to have a pipeline filled with oil or gas or whatever it is cross our nation top to bottom just so Canada can get their product to New Orleans to ship to China? This pipeline crosses countless rivers, streams, roads and so on. We get a few jobs maintaining the pipeline for the Canucks risking our land and water just so they can ship it easily to someone else? Are you people for real?

Do you have any idea how many pipelines run across America? Have you heard any real horror stories surrounding the Alaskan pipeline? You really should stop using fear mongering tactics. Are you also against transporting oil via tanker ships? Here's a memory for you; Exxon Valdez.

I would bet good money that soot from China is not at the top of anyone's list of top ten complaints. We could only wish that soot from across the Pacific was the biggest problem we have

Anyway this is like the 6th time this has passed the house, Landrieu is hoping to use it as a "Hail Mary" in the Senate even though her re election has Popsicle's chance in Hades..... quite amusing really. Well played by the GOP :)

Evidently you are not aware of all of the pipelines that crisscross the US. Better get out there and start protesting.

Yes, much better to have dirty homeless people because there are no jobs in the nation.

Have to love the liberal mentality.

What a pathetic broken record...toss it already. If the GOP gave a (*)(*)(*)(*) about jobs, they would present an actual jobs bill, not something that will only line the pockets of them and big oil.

Obama is just pandering to the environterrorists. For the left, a jobs bill only means stealing from others to redistribute instead of actually creating jobs, which consists of government getting out of the way (like with the pipeline).

The pipline construction jobs will not be temporary jobs they will last several years. So how long is a job supposed to last to satisfy you? How is it that Obama thought these kind of jobs were good but now he and you with him seem to think otherwise?

You seem to think this is the singular economic improve package by the Republicans meant to put EVERYONE back to work. It is just one of the many vitally needed to get the economy into high gear.

It will be refined here why do you oppose those jobs. Some will be sold here, some will be sold elsewhere, so what it all increases supply and lowers price why do you oppose that? And why do you support Obama opposing 20,000 jobs for three years and a couple of thousand thereafter?
