Kids need to be guided and taught.

If you refer to teaching as 'brainwashing' and 'assault' then I have to suppose you'd prefer the anarchy of letting them raise themselves without boundaries?

Please explain how children should be raised in your world, without boundaries (by parent or by institutions)? How do you think that would work out for them and society in the end?

Just think, poor Barry Sotero was "tutored" by a Communist, Frank Marshal Davis, and taught all he needed to know before he was ten.

Why would Founding Fathers who were not Christians be using Moses to influence their writings?

They wouldn't. So why should that not be mentioned?

You might want to remind them about NCLB too.

Nice attempt to alter the main point, but do you support this teacher's view?

That it is their class and as such control the topic, yes, that is the way it is. Now if you are asking do I think it should be discussed then the answer is yes, so long as everyone remains civil, if I was anti-discussion I would not be here.

You mean indoctrination or what liberals call education. Real education is just fine.

So, do you support the teacher's view that parents have no business teaching their children?

Actually, teacher's are charged to teach a particular curriculum which is set by the school board under the direction and concent of the students parents.

I hate to burst your bubble, no not really, but Conservatives are every bit as involved in what is being taught in our public schools as are Libs.

Do you support the teacher's view that a parent can not teach their child?

Good. Then why try to blame conservatives for something not at issue here?

That isn't what the issue is here. The issue is that the teacher doesn't want the child and parent discussing the content of her class, or more specifically, for the parent to help the child with the homework.

So the question is, do you agree with the idea that parents shouldn't be helping their kids with homework?

I wouldn't do that, but I would attend the next school board meeting and make it my cause to get this teacher into a different profession.

Oh christ- please do tell us what you think "real" education is. This should be good. And details, not talking points.

If you start talking creationism and intelligent design, buh-bye. That's for church.

Did I blame them for something, oh yes, BACK to the topic and it's link: true, a moron called Beck is attempting to use this isolated incident as an excuse to dismantle the Department of Education, he does not say what we should replace it with nor does he offer any fixes, but as with many Cons he sure is quick to throw it away because some teacher in some school somewhere in America said something stupid. I guess he would know all about stupid, it seems to be his stock and trade. There, better?

I know you asked Christ to answer that, but I'll give it a shot. Teaching children how to read, write and speak the English language correctly. Teaching them math skills and science. Teaching factual world and US history. Actually encourage the learning process.

Every time a liberal gets called out for doing something I defensable, the libs come out and try to claim the conservatives are the real problem.

Then I assume you were also against NCLB?

And do give specifics about "factual" world and US History.

Actually when one includes a link with their post the link becomes part of the topic, that is how it works. I already answered that, go back and read, clue: it only has one word in the post.

When the link they use to point out their "issue" supports killing of the Department of Education over what one teacher said I would say yes, those Cons are part of the problem.

What is astonishing and PREDICTABLE is when anyone starts talking intelligent design, zero intelligence follows.
