I skimmed a funny article in a liberal rag a few days ago, the headline was that public opinion against the Keystone pipeline was moving in the left's direction, the poll cited said that 20% now oppose the pipeline. My guess is that if Godzillary runs she will be in favor of building Keystone. Obama's entire game right now is to make big promises now that he's lost the Senate to try and force her to the left but the short version is that it won't work, Obama's first quarter was peak left in American politics for the foreseeable future.

All those workers pay US taxes.

All the workers who build the pipeline, will pay US taxes.

All the workers who maintain the pipeline, will pay US taxes.

The pipeline is the fastest, and the greenest, and the safest, and the cheapest way to transport the oil.

I don't object to the pipeline.. I object to the lies about the pipeline and how many jobs it will create.

    Whats to negotiate?

Congress writes the laws, the president is supposed to execute the laws, and the supreme court makes sure the laws are legal.

    Thats how it works.

If obama wants to veto everything, thats up to him.

    Congress should do their job.

So we should just make up jobs to increase the cost of products to make people feel good?

    Terrible business model.....

and for the record.......I don't believe you work for an oil company and are against the pipeline...

It will create more than 1 job. Thats for sure.

    I support creating jobs.

First you have to prove creating a pipeline would lose American jobs, cause your claim makes no sense.

You actually believe that, don't you?

Maybe someday you'll learn something about how your government works.

Oil is not currently transported by the pipeline. Oil would be transported by pipeline once built. People who used to transport oil won't be anymore.

This is pretty easy to understand. Now, how does losing American jobs and helping Canada sell oil help Americans?

LoL, I didn't move to Casper, WY for the fun of it. I have worked for the same company in Chicago, North Dakota, Colorado, and now Casper.

Yes, we should make up the jobs to transport Canadian oil that will be refined by a refinery not owned by the US. Would you let a guy run a business from your house without being compensated for it?

Actually it will cost jobs because some small refineries that have been refitted to handle the heavy sour crude will be by-passed by the Keystone.

They don't care about American job creation. They only care about saving oil executives money.

It was drilled in Canada. So let Canada refine their own oil. Why allow them to use our infrastructure to sell their product without compensating us for it by helping out our trucking and rail industries?

Global warming, whether you believe it, is real. Lowering the amount of carbon emissions from these massive trucks seems like a no brainier if you care about our environment. Do you believe in global warming?

our population is compensated by having lowering gas prices that should continue to drop with more available supplies .

Theyll be transporting something else, instead of oil.

It makes no sense to burn oil to transport oil when you can do it cheaper, greener, safer with a pipeline.

Obama has done nothing BUT allow more drilling. In case you haven't noticed, a surplus of American shale oil has caused the price of oil to drop to levels not seen since 2008. Obama has been openly helpful to oil production, not hostile to it. In fact he has touted it as a creator of middle class jobs.

    - - - Updated - - -

The lowered oil prices are going to get thousands of oil workers laid off and stop production until prices rise again.
