Sadly the media crucified this Marine and others over something that was not a big deal. In my view the Taliban deserved to get peed on after the atrocities they were committing. It's ashame the Marine's life went in a downhill spiral afterwards. http://m.nydailynews.com/news/natio...6?ref=Outbrain&ADLocation=footer&ADPosition=2
He showed what kind of person he really was with his arrogant, puerile action and is responsible for the consequences.
The taliban had chopped off the limbs of his fellow soldier and hung them from trees. Pissing on their corpses is the least they should have done. - - - Updated - - - HAHA! Im sure he smelled better afterwards.
The US military prides itself on training , readiness and discipline. When a US soldier pees on a dead body he is the lowest of the low, mocking his comrades and the American people.. These types are also known as TRASH.
I have a relative who was just sent to Gitmo for her assignment and before she left I told her to give one of the prisoners a kick for me. She didn't respond but she did give me a sinister little smirk.
Oh, you can shoot 'em, disembowel them with a bayonet, vaporize them from afar with a drone strike, but don't dare pee on the dead body, no that would suggest barbarous intention and is uncivilized. Insanity. We demand that our young men put themselves in harms way, watch their compatriots die in unspeakable ways, kill at close range the enemy. How can we not think that the immediate result wouldn't be rage and anger that manifests itself in this way? Leave the war to the warriors, we shouldn't judge from our clean safe lives a half a world away. Cheers Labour
He had plenty of training, readiness and discipline. He demonstrated wonderfully the 4 fundamentals of marksmanship in shooting these bastards. That is why He is pissing on the corpse, and his limbs are not being hung from trees. Unless you were in the combat, you have no room to talk. When you see your fellow soldiers body parts hanging from trees, a little revenge is justified.
What deranged logic. He is mocking the terrorists. To who ? You ? Lol... No they aren't. Lots of people earn the label "trash"... but a soldier who went a little too far is not one of them. Anyway, I'm going to re-read the op and see if I can find it in me to feel bad for the dead terrorists. How do you guys do it ?
Compared to what? I think corruption and lying to the American people are far worse than pissing on the corpses of our enemies.
I don't feel bad for the terrorists. I despise everything that al-Qaeda and ISIS stand for. But we should take the high ground in war, to prove that we are better than they are. I don't place too much blame on the soldier, since this was probably an action driven by perhaps years of fighting these people to defend the ones he loves. But this war has repeatedly shown that we need to reclaim the high ground instead of getting into the mud with those we fight.
I agree that this isn't the type of action we should condone, but... I have a hard time vilifying the guy, as others are doing, while we watch mass burnings, mass beheadings, mass live-burials, heads on posts, bodies dragged behind scooters, soon-to-be-burned prisoners in cages, and YouTube beheadings..... while our government is more concerned about constantly telling us "It's not Islam!". Sure, the soldier shouldn't have done it..... but at least he was over there saving lives.
What a surprise, progressives take the side of jihadists against the US military. Where have I seen this before?
The worst thing he did was let it be filmed. His life certainly shouldn't have been destroyed because of a momentary lapse in judgement that hurt nobody.
Why, and was it worthy of punishment? I don't think so on both. If the behavior could be called aberrant, and I'm not sure it can in context, then it was an opportunity to come to the young man's aid. Was he helped if we thought the stress was getting to him? Cheers Labour
i have no sympathy for any invading imperialist soldier/marine/sailor/whatever and wish they meet a quick end.
No one would have known if it was Marine battle buddies urinating on enemy corpses...someone filmed it and posted it to Youtube. You can't do that sort of thing, it's grounds for an Article 134 as conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline This reflects poorly on the level of professionalism maintained by the armed forces. I will stand by my statement, filming the act and posting to social media, was dumb.
Have had friends in combat and even they have agreed what he did was wrong. Now with that said, what he did didn't deserve to be kicked out, rank taken away or anything like that just corrective action. It isn't something to be cheered on, but then it isn't something to ruin someone's life over either.
