Hollywood has made revisionist movies about the Apollo missions.

The Apollo missions was just one battle fought during the Cold War as the Vietnam War was.

With the end of the Cold War, the political left who surrendered and refused to fight the Cold War in the early 70's found themselves being wrong again while the right was right again.

Then there's the Hitler connection to the Apollo missions. Since Hitler was no longer around, someone had to continue the dream.

One question they can't seem to have a good answer for is:If we faked the moon landing, why did we feel the need to do it 5 more times?

I know. I like that the pro-hoaxers think it depicts a realistic scenario for a faked manned space mission :D

They'd have to cast Leonardo DiCaprio and put a love story and a Celine Dion song in it.

Well, according to astronaut Garrett Reisman, the movie got a lot of it right, especially the spacewalks, of which he's done three.

Sure, some of the plot stuff like hopping from one station to another was a stretch, but for the first time in cinematic history, moving through space was depicted in the most realistic way possible. Even the sound design of the movie was accurate.

I thought 2001 A Space Odyssey had that distinction. No sound in space. No warp drive. Smaller rockets for maneuvering.

No movie has been made because hollywood isn't stupid. It would be, without doubt, the dullest movie of all time. Some guys make uneventful trip, arrive - uneventfully - hop around a bit, pick up some rocks, then make an uneventful trip home.

Had one of them died, or had there been a low gravity manlove romance, well then maybe.

I experienced something close to physical pain watching Gravity. easily one of the worst movies ever made. could not possibly have been cornier.

Talking about 2001 and Gravity in the same thread is a crime against humanity.

Seems clear that satellites exist so the moon landing couldn't have been that far off :)

Seems like that would be the most boring movie ever. What would they show? 3 hours of sitting in the craft?

By the way - something I've never understood about the whole denialist position: I can see the ISS with my telescope. I can track its movement across the sky, and use basic mathematics to figure out how far away it is. How exactly is NASA (or other alphabet soup shadow agencies) faking such things?

You couldn't be more wrong if you claimed you could lift the Statue of Liberty Enlightening The World.

Gravity was so bad I was embarrassed for the two stars.

    2001 is a masterpiece.

Oh, I thought you meant 2001, not Gravity.

    Haven't seen that one.

I like 2001, but it does have a big plothole in it.

Hal had a huge opportunity to kill Bowman but never took it. Since Bowman was the only crewman, it fell to him to investigate the object orbiting Jupiter. Because he was the first human ever to make it out that far, the object took him in and made him into the starchild.

If Hal had killed Bowman and Poole, there would have never been a starchild and it would have been a bad ending since it would be only Hal gathering data from the Object.

It was an HBO miniseries, made in Hollywood. And it most certainly was a blockbuster. It won a crapload of awards, and still is a popular DVD rental to this day. I might add that it covered more than a single movie ever could. It covered a lot of stuff that has never been covered anywhere else, and certainly did discuss the moon walks. It even had an entire episode about how they prepared the astronauts to do geological field reconnaissance, and then showed them doing just that on the Moon. Perhaps if you would just rent the miniseries and watch it for yourself, you wouldn't have to waste our time here in denial.

The Government conceals a great deal from it's citizens...they did perform various LSD experiments on soldiers as an example.

However faking the Moon landings would require a complete silence from those involved, and by now something would have leaked. Even the Russians admit the Moon landings were real...if anyone has a desire to prove the Moon landings were faked it's the Russians. They wanted to be the first and they had a distinct advantage in the early years of placing satellites into orbit.

Human beings really did land on, and walk on...our Moon. I understand the distrust towards our govenment on many issues, but this is not one of those instances where they have hidden the truth from the citizenry. It is wise to question things, it shows critical thinking; but beyond all doubt the Apollo Moon landings were real.

He didn't call buzz any names, buddy.

All he did was ask him to swear on a bible.

Then buzz punched him. Exactly like an angry child who has just been caught in a lie would.

    EXPOSED!

In the meantime there is an effort to recover and clear up and digitize the original films from both the ISEE spacecraft that first filmed the moon to look for landing areas and the moon landings.

There is one famous Earth rise picture in color but it was not the first.

First Earth rise picture from ISEE.

sorry but he had harassed him many times and this is why your thread on skepticism is bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Calling this evidence is nonsense and this is why no one takes this nonsense seriously. There is boatloads of real proof that Americans went to moon and anyone saying differently would have to show what is false about it. No one ever has.

Who ever said the word evidence? Not me.

The OP is about why a movie has never been made.

I'd take you a little more seriously if you'd just stick to see one of my threads at a time.

Apparently, for you this is about attacking Validation Boy, not about discussing the current topic.

No it is about showing that your thread is ridiculous. Someone showed you the movie that was made. You rejected it and then you said Aldrin was trying to hide something, which is nonsense.

If you think we haven't been to the moon show what evidence you have.
