This would be possible if you got 70% participation.

Great. So you're for a strong central government and removing states rights.

    Nope........

interstate commerce was never a states right it has always been the duty of the federal government so nothing is being removed

"The authors acknowledge funding from the Searle Center on Law, Regulation, and Economic Growth at the Northwestern University School of Law."
a study funded by a law school which lawyers makes millions a year from suing doctors and hospitals I would call that a conflict of interest
same as an oil company funding research on global warming

I've been in the same boat till this month. You're lucky to find a doctor to take Obama care insurance, where I live I mostly got [IMG].

My company just made me full time because I was looking elsewhere for full time hours. They really have awesome benefits including Medical.

Insurance is currently regulated at the state level, and has never been sold across state lines.

    Complete lack of rebuttal noted.

Like I said. Neither of your proposals lowers costs. Tort is less than 1% of medical costs.

I wish you guys would get your terminology correct. ALL medical insurance is regulated by the ACA. So if you have any type of insurance at all you have obamacare. If you purchased through the state exchanges you purchased from a major provider like BCBS, Aetna, United healthcare etc. if you qualified for Medicaid, then you being turned away from the doctor is believable. Are you on Medicaid? If not I call bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

Sorry the answer is not more medicaid.. If that was the case why did we need ObamaCare?

Of course the answer is more Medicaid. Medicaid is a single payer system, which is demonstrably superior to private insurance.

So more people not paying into the system is your answer.. Brilliant.
Nothing is "Free" when are you guys going to figure this out?

Right now there are 283 hospitals that may close due to the fact that mostly Republican Governors are blocking Medicaid. That is the real problem. It is astonishing what the Right wing is doing in this country that negatively affects poor people.

I'm not talking about more people not paying. I'm talking about doing away with for profit private insurance and putting EVERYONE on Medicaid. If you prefer we can have a hybrid system similar to Canada where you can still purchase additional private insurance on top of your single payer plan. Either option is superior to what we have.

And how do you plan to take away for profit? Are you saying we should dictate MD and RN salaries? Do you understand what a can of worms that would open up? How can you under our system dictate cost?

Common sense should tell you blocking medicaid expansion would negatively affect poor people. Here's why. They don't qualify without the expansion of medicaid. They would with it. Pretty simple really.

So you have nothing... Thanks. With your logic we should all have medicaid but no one would pay into it.. Brilliant.

If we are to fight "income inequality" then what better place to start than pharma, medical equipment and medical staff?

Let's nationalize the entire supply chain, put some nice govt employees in place to oversee it all and determine what is fair pay for given jobs and what is a fair price for equipment.

Democrats must then outlaw medical care provided by anyone other than the govt.

The answer to any problem created by govt is to throw more govt at it.

http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20150516/MAGAZINE/305169959 You folks just aren't part of the real world I'm afraid. The crowd from the Right ignores reality, while people suffer needlessly based on the fact that hospitals are closing for a reason. The reason is simply politics, while others die. It is one of the most demonic things in my lifetime that I see happening.

The GOP's stance on helping the poor is exactly why this independent cannot vote republican right now.

As soon as you reply to me and start ranting about "the right" you lose the debate.

    - - - Updated - - -

As would i but the Progressive move to make everything "free" doesnt accomplish that.

Yes, the medical industry will have to be socialist, and it will happen. The failed private for profit healthcare system with potentially losing 283 hospitals knows this. That is exhibit A why private health for profit does not work. It is the reason every other developed nation in the world has a universal health system. They figured it out a long time ago. And we will be the last ones to follow behind.
