This whole confederate flag faux out rage at first I assumed it was just another race card playing cheap ploy to galvanize the black vote, but then it dawned on me.
Democrats are trying to erase and hide their vile inhuman racist past from slavery, the KKK, and Jim Crow not any different then what the Germans did after WW2 outlawing anything that reminded them about Hitler and the Nazis

yes some democrats changed party and started to vote republican and some republicans changed party and started to vote democrat, but history isn't transferable
that would be same lame argument as would be if 100 years from now many Germans move to Poland and many Poles move to Germany then claim now Poland is the country of the Nazis and Hitler

a parties history is a parties history it isn't transferable it cant be erased and it wont be forgotten or ignored it is etched in stone just like all of history

Why don't conservatives research their own party?

I will reiterate.

SOUTHERN CONSERVATIVES fought against abolishment of slavery.
SOUTHERN CONSERVATIVES voted against civil rights
SOUTHERN CONSERVATIVES were KKK members
SOUTHERN CONSERVATIVES rebelled against women rights.
SOUTHERN CONSERVATIVES enforced Jim Crow

Now if you want to run around yelling democrats are responsible for all uncivil acts that's fine but you better be clear it was the same bigoted southern conservatives we see today.

 

It's all water under the bridge, especially when we're a generation or more beyond whatever the Democrats of the past were guilty of. The Democrat label doesn't stand for that anymore, though what it stands for today isn't necessarily a great thing either.

 

What's annoying is this continued grouping and stereotyping of everyone in this vast nation into two political camps and accusing each camp of all sorts of stupid ideas and actions collectively. This left vs right bickering accomplishes nothing.

 

Liberal Democrats didn't start the KKK, fight for Segregation, or lynch blacks.

 

There has never been a national political party called the Conservative Party or Southern Conservative Party in the United States it is you that doesn't have a clue what the hell you are talking about

I have forgotten more about history than you will ever know.

 

You know, those southern conservatives where what was known as yeller dog democrats. A phrase that mean they would vote for a yeller dog before they would vote for a Republican. Those southern democratic conservatives is what gave the Democratic Party control of the house for 56 out of 60 years. The Democratic Party really liked them then.

Most of those southern conservative yeller dog democrats went to their graves as democrats. Very few ever switched parties. As long as they were providing votes for the Democratic Party in congress and delivering the southern states to the Democratic Presidential nominee, the Democratic Party was just fine with those yeller dog democrats.

 

Efforts to remove the flag have been ongoing for decades. Why do some act as if this is new?

 

The days of the old yeller dog democrats are gone. So too now most of the blue dog democrats. What is sad is each party has moved either to the extreme right or the extreme left leaving most of Americans without a party to call home anymore. Hence the huge rise in the number of independents over the last 15-20 years.

One must also remember that Italians were also rounded up but later released.
