All that is great, but telling someone you know who Soleimani is, while you do not, then telling us he is a Kurd, honestly has nothing to do with your history lesson.

It's trivial and no one cares.

Few people know or give a damn about the quds or kurds

My post was right-on topic. I was comparing Obama's lack of basic American knowledge to Trump's lack of knowledge about ME leaders. Obama got a media pass. Libbies are descending upon Trump like a bunch of harpies. So...You are 100% wrong.

Hillary had a private server...No other head of state has or has had a private server in their basement or a bathroom. (like Hillary did) and used it to mix private and State-secret emails. She is either a colossal ignoramus or an enemy sycophant....Neither is good.

What difference does it make? Obama knows who they all are and he hasn't done a damn thing to stop them. But Trump knows that they are all cockroaches that need to be eliminated and I promise you he will do it, and that's all that matters.

Seriously, these Islamonazis don't even deserve the respect of recognizing them as individual groups and entities. They are one, collective, 7th century pedophile profit worshiping maggots and scum of the earth.

Quds vs Kurds? Who cares - who pays attention to it? It is a matter for the Secretary of State to be informed. The President gets a personal morning CIA - world wide national security / world affairs / hot spots briefing. That's the job of the National Security Adviser to him, and all President's, usually leads to a stronger position - Condi Rice from NSA to Bush, Jr. to Secretary of State. Susan Rice from UN Ambassador to National Security Adviser to Obama, for spreading the Benghazi lie for him and Clinton.

Most people familiar with the Middle East know who the Kurds are, including Trump. They are the mortal enemies of Assad and ISIS, who our current administration refuses to supply arms to. Big deal - reporter's trick - guarantee nobody in the media or the audience for that matter gives a rats whether Mr. Trump can tell the difference between a Qud and a Kurd. If he wins, he will sort it out if it is a threat to America.

BTW, our President, who campaigned in 57 U.S. States, was considered perfectly capable of handling Foreign Affairs, although he had no experience in the field. People were amused, as we are by this question to Trump, but not concerned. He knows where ISIS is, he knows where Israel and Iran are, China, and North Korea, and would scare the hell out of Putin in a face to face. Putin, a man Mrs. Fiorino has spoken to several times in person.

You really think a candidate should be able to spout off all the little warlord's of the world at random, know each and every terrorist group supplied by Iran, and their location, and be able to reel them off at every press conference, and voters (of which you will probably find 6-7 across the nation who know the difference between a Qud (something a cow chews isn't it), and a Kurd?

Get real - the press isn't going to derail Donald Trump with silly questions like this, and the voter's will pay zero attention to it, as he will.

Just desperate to find any tiny morsel of evidence that Mr. Trump shouldn't be President. From the polls, a lot of people seem to be flocking to his banner, and think he should be - the Qud-Kurd question isn't going to stop that........

It's funny how the "WE WANT BLACK PRESIDENT! OMG I AM LIKE SO PART OF HISTORY" types feel justified in criticizing Trump, or anyone else. They don't understand what jokes they are.

And this is important to the President why? A group from the 1980's involved in the Afgan War, supporting the Taliban, and Kurdish in Iraq, when we no longer are involved in Iraq? You don't think the State Department and the CIA don't know about them, and whether they are friend or foe to America? Obama refuses to send arms to the Kurds, who are being exterminated by Assad in Syria, even through use of Saran Gas, a horrible biological weapon. But you expect Trump (and previously Palin), to know all of this during a Presidential campaign, and Obama, seven years in the office, can't figure out the difference between an Al Quida attack in Benghazi on the anniversary of September 11th which killed four American's, yet Trump, a businessman, is supposed to know who the Quds are off-the-cuff? If he had a reason to do business with them - he would know about them. Dump question to ask a candidate - go ask Rubio the same question or Jeb Bush, and they won't know who they are either. And Rubio sits on the Intelligence Committee, and we haven't heard a word from him about foreign policy experience since his election as a Senator.........

Ok so Trump confused an aspect of the amazingly complicated Middle Eastern theater.

I'm pretty sure President Trump would have a room full of advisers setting him straight on things like this.

    Is that so bad?

By comparison Obama would need a 3rd grade social studies teacher in The Cabinet.

Well, Donald tried to dance around it by saying that he thought all these guys would be gone by the time he got in.

I think President Obama should thank him for the confidence Trump expressed in Obama's foreign policy!

    Trump's conclusion to the interview
I know he'll "make america great again" and that he will get rid of 11 millioon illegal immigrants, and that he has a beautiful plan to get rid of ISIS, and that he is going to great at the military, but at some point Trump is going to have to start giving us some policy papers.
Until that day, the man is a joke.

You do realize, do you not, you're referencing Hillary and Kerry!

As to this nonsense about Quds, who has ever heard of them? Not I, nor anybody I know. Not to mention it was a phone interview where enunciation is often poor and lip-reading impossible. It would be interesting, but impossible now that this silliness is being made a big deal of, to see the reaction of all the candidates when asked the exact same question in the same format. I'll bet 99% of them, if not all, would either misunderstand the question or not have a clue.

Lol!. And after all that, you never got the most important part, besides being unprepared. It was the fact that he told an all out lie to Hewitt, and it was proven so. I thought lying was a no no for the GOP? Apparently that is no longer the case, and Trumps integrity has no value right?

Yeah, Sarah Palin stumbled on Foreign and economic policy questions, and it ruined McCain's campaign and help lose the election. And with Trump not knowing squat, it will bury him too. You'll see.

My top pick right now is Ted Cruz. However, I don't care one bit about Trump's interview with Hewitt...getting facts mixed up or not being quite sure who he's talking about (don't even bring up the lying angle...Hillary's got that one in the bag!)

Also, there's no doubt in my mind Trump will have the very best people around him for the job they've been given, bar none. That is probably the only reason he is still on my list (that and immigration). He will have qualified people in important positions. It's what business people do. I hope Ted Cruz would too...I hope he doesn't owe too many people. Anyway, this thread is meaningless, IMO.

Gee, you used Trump and integrity in the same sentence! I didn't think that was possible.

I think it's amazing the way that Trump blusters his way through basic mistake after basic mistake, and his apologists all shrug it off by claiming that he'll have "qualified people on inporatant positions".

I guess the leader doesn't have to know squat, as long as this anonymous army of "experts" is around.

The Donald is not know for having a lot of long term loyal employees. He's a high turnover guy. Today's expert is likely to be the guy Trump is attacking tomorrow.

As for Cruz, he needs to get on the televangelist circuit, where he belongs. He certainly doesn''t belong in the Senate or the White House.

I think you've misunderstood what the word "lie" means. Dictionary.com has it entered simply, "an intentionally false statement". You don't have that there, you have Trump being wrong/mistaken, which is not a lie. Kind of like, though I see another poster noted it, Obama said he went to 57 states. That wasn't a lie.
