Clearly, the video is just a small part of a much longer conference.

I only recently started posting in this forum, even though I joined it way back when.

    You are dead wrong!
The punishment for zina if the guilty are married is death by stoning.
It must be devastating to realize you're not the intellect you thought!

Even the left wing rag of an encyclopedia acknowledges it.

"Stoning is a duty laid down in Allah's Book for married men and women who commit adultery when proof is established, or if there is pregnancy, or a confession." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zina

The size of the conference and video is immaterial to this thread. Lets stay focused on the part our eyes and ears made clear!

Actually, it's very relevant, and integral to the honesty of the original poster, which is now in question.

Lost, huh? Let's just say that for the record what they said is what was mentioned in the video. Does that mean the rest of the 1.6 billion Muslims necessarily agree?

I'll give you the short answer: NO

Let it be said for the record, my ears and eyes did not lie to me.
Does that mean the rest of the 1.5 billion muslims do not agree?

I'll give you the long answer: Neither of us know, but odds are most of them do not!

There are THREE punishments in the Quran for married people convicted of adultery. .

    1- 100 lashes in public (24:2).
2- Automatic dissolution of marriage. Ref. 65:1
3- Expulsion from the community of believers in the sense that no believer is allowed to marry the guilty. (24:3)

    stoning is part of islam

Rajm (رجم) is an Arabic word that means "stoning".[2][3] It is commonly used to refer to the Hudud punishment wherein an organized group throws stones at a convicted individual until that person dies. Under Islamic law, it is the prescribed punishment in cases of adultery committed by a married man or married woman.

    As per your link/video.

    "Published on Jan 11, 2015

Peace Conference in Norway with 4,000 moderate Muslims all supported the death penalty by stoning for adultery
    "

    Found this afterwards.

    "Religion
    Main article: Religion in Norway
    Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim
Heddal stave church, Notodden, the largest stave church in Norway
Bait-un-Nasr mosque on the outskirts of Oslo, the largest mosque in Scandinavia

Most Norwegians are registered at baptism as members of the Church of Norway which until the constitutional amendment of 21 May 2012 was the official state church. The constitution still requires that the reigning monarch must be Lutheran and that the country's values are based on its Christian and humanist heritage. Many remain in the church to participate in the community and practices such as baptism, confirmation, marriage and burial rites which have strong cultural standing in Norway. About 74.3% of Norwegians were members of the Church of Norway on 1 January 2015. In 2014, about 59.3% of all newborns were baptised and about 62.9% of all 15-year-old persons were confirmed in the church.[151]
Among non-Christian religions, Islam is the largest, with 132,135 registered members (2014), and probably fewer than 200.000 in total.[158] It is practised mainly by Somali, Arab, Bosniak, Albanian and Turkish immigrants, as well as Norwegians of Pakistani descent. Dominated by Sunni Islam, other significant minorities include Shia and Ahmadiyya.[citation needed]"

Here in America we shoot the person our wife is cheating with...but what ever.

So those clots got it wrong.. There's NO stoning for adultery in Arabia and death is not the penalty for adultery.

You may find stoning in the most backwards areas of Afghanistan or Sudan, but not in Arabia.

    Oh I see..

"We are Conservatives in the undying tradition of America’s Founding Fathers, deeply concerned about the sorry state of our country and the ruinous path our government, political, and cultural elites have taken. That is why we have formed this fellowship, this blog.

    Just another ignorant blogger.

The blogger is simply ignorant.. or perhaps the lies are deliberate. Lots of Conservatives who call themselves Christians publish these sorts of lies because they think it helps make their case. Its like the lies about the Jews.. blood libel and Protocols of the Elders etc.......

You of all people should be more discerning..

The Quran is NOT the only holy book for Muslims. The Hadith also is considered a holy book.

Islamic law (Sharia) requires that adulterers be put to death, since it was the example set by Muhammad. In practice, the women are executed far more often, since they are presumed to bear the burden of sexual responsibility (in Islam's male-dominated society) and are, perhaps, more likely to confess their discretion.

Bukhari (6:60:79) (alt link) - Two people guilty of "illegal" intercourse are brought to Muhammad, who orders them both stoned to death. Apparently their act was out of love, since the verse records the man as trying to shield the woman from the stones.

Bukhari (83:37) - Adultery is one of three justifications for killing a person, according to Muhammad.

Muslim (17:4192) - This hadith clarifies the different penalties for adultery (when the subjects are married), and fornication (when they are not): "in case of married (persons) there is (a punishment) of one hundred lashes and then stoning (to death). And in case of unmarried persons, (the punishment) is one hundred lashes and exile for one year" (See also 17:4191)

Muslim (17:4196) - A married man confesses that he has adultery. Muhammad orders him planted in the ground and pelted with stones. According to the passage, the first several stones caused such pain that he tried to escape and was dragged back.

Muslim (17:4206) - A woman who became pregnant confesses to Muhammad that she is guilty of adultery. Muhammad allows her to have the child, then has her stoned. The description is graphic: "Khalid b Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her."

Muslim (17:4209) - A woman confesses adultery and is stoned to death on Muhammad's order.

Ibn Ishaq (970) - "The adulterer must be stoned." These words were a part of Muhammad's farewell address to his people on the occasion of his final pilgrimage to Mecca.

Muhammed never had anyone put to death for adultery..

Bukhari was a Persian born 200 years after Muhammed's death and there were some 60,000 Hadiths.. most of which could not be authenticated.

The Saudis follow the Koran not the Hadith that gets real fuzzy about the death penalty for adulterers.. The crap you quoted is unauthenticated Hadiths..

Now post your source.. I'd like to see where you found your cut and paste.

Chapter (24) sūrat l-nūr (The Light)

    Verse (24:2) - English Translation:

Mohsin Khan: The woman and the man guilty of illegal sexual intercourse, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of the believers witness their punishment. (This punishment is for unmarried persons guilty of the above crime but if married persons commit it, the punishment is to stone them to death, according to Allah's Law).

Did you even open the link I just posted? You're making conjectures based on prejudice. The facts remain with me: the majority of Muslims by and large do NOT support extremism.
