This guy has some deep mental problems including paranoia

Jim Cooley was at the airport to drop his daughter off for a flight, and he thought he’s also strap on his AR-15 semiautomatic rifle–replete with a 100-round drum–and exercise his right to open carry under Georgia law. Why did he need such a weapon? Let’s allow Cooley to explain:

“It shouldn’t matter what I carry, just that I choose to carry. You never know where something might happen.”

You mean something like an open-carry nutbag with a weapon of mass destruction prowling the halls of the airport?

Clayton County Solicitor General Tasha Mosley says a state law that took effect July 1, 2014, allows a permitted citizen with a handgun or a legal long gun to carry the gun in a commercial airport in many areas, but not to knowingly take it in or beyond security screening areas.
It is also not allowed in certain other restricted areas.

stupid Georgia laws allow open carry of assault-weapons.

Almost all states allow open carry of rifles. You just seem to have soiled your pants about just discovering this.

    "Assault Weapons!"

The guy at the airport is a dumbass, but what is someone that does not know open carrying a rifle is legal in most states?

What did he do wrong, exactly?
Create a little fear and unease in some people? (people like you)

Unless it is a secure area (with numerous armed guards and metal detector screening), making it a crime to carry a gun in a particular place is not going to do anything to prevent someone who is intent on killing people in that area.

Open carrying a rifle is legal in most states for hunting purposes, they are open carrying a rifle as if they are preparing for military combat against unarmed civilians going about their day.

why is he a gun nut?

When I hear gun night im thinking of somebody using a gun for intimidation as well as being mentally disabled.

Apparently to lefties anyone who has a gun is a nut.

Old news indeed, and in all the time that has passed since then, nothing bad has happened, except in the deluded little minds of people who choose to be afraid.
I don't agree with what the goofy boy did, but I'm amused to see that it's still a hot topic with some.
He showed us that the gun doesn't do anything at all. Whether it does or not is entirely up to the holder of that gun.
Kinda' like cars. We trust them to be all around us, but if you're walking in front of the Paris hotel, and some wacko chick is having a bad day, cars kill.
