That interview with Obama is completely fake. He never said any of that. And it is quite obvious.

    Further to the above.

The last Assyrian Empire (usually referred to as the Neo-Assyrian Empire circa 900-600BCE) spread its wings across the Middle East. It moved West and South from its homeland. It conquered part of Egypt to the South. One of the reasons it took the kingdom of Israel was its position. It stood in Assyria's path to the lucrative, important and useful Phonecian ports (Tyre and Sidon) on the Mediterranean Sea. Israel also had good fertile land and produced various useful foods.

While the Bible tells us that Assyria did not conquer the smaller kingdom of Judah, to all intents ans purposes, they did. Judah was allowed to rule itself by giving tribute to Assyria. Better for Assyria as Judah had little to offer as a mainly hilly state. It became an island in the Assyrian Empire. When the Babylonians conquered Assyria Judah could have remained in the same position. Unfortunately an Egyptian Pharaoh decided fight the Babylonians. He was driven back to Egypt. The Judah formed a pact with Egypt. This was something the Babylonians would not stand, and so they conquered Judah. Judah could be a thorn in the Babylonians side, and a thorn can lead to consequences if not dealt with.
People think that Judah was depopulated under the Babylonians. It wasn't. Not all were taken into Babylon.

The Bible puts it all down to god. It was simply down to 'politics' etc of the time. Even Isaiah, a very wise 'statesman' saw what was going to happen and warned against it.

And isn't it interesting that The Prophet Jeremiah advised the king of Judah to NOT ally himself with Egypt.... against Babylon.... but instead to submit to the rule of Babylon?

Obviously.... Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah and Daniel...… very likely knew that Jeremiah and Baruch had advised submission to King Nebuchadnezzar... which would play a role in their eventually rising to a high position in both his government as well as that of King Cyrus and King Darius!

Sorry but OT prophesies hold little fascination for me. Much of the 'foretelling' was simply understanding the situation of the day and the results that would follow actions. Some were even written during, or after, the event.

Yes......… that is certainly one part of it...… but also..... the gifted psychics of that time period who encouraged the king to ally with Egypt against Babylon...… their writings would tend to fall into a place of less respect..... whereas the gifted people of that time period who gave what later on came to be understood as the wisest and most insightful advice..... their writings grew in popularity.... and in the case of Jeremiah and Baruch.... their words even became a part of Jewish and Christian scriptures!

Is it possible that the Prophet Jeremiah may have had something like one of those near death experiences during some of that time he spent in dungeons..... and could his scribe and friend Baruch........ have been affected by what Jeremiah told Baruch in private??????

    http://www.drbo.org/chapter/30006.htm

Is this statement from Baruch..... based on something somewhat like the "Life Review" portion of modern near death experiences????????

    Thank you for this correction!

I should have seen through that article and should have known that it was probably false........... but I didn't. I admit it ...… I tend to be somewhat naive............. which reminds me a bit of how the Prophet Daniel had to teach ancient King Cyrus about how he was being deceived by people who claimed to be gifted....... but were just good at deception and an ancient form of magik!

I suspect that you are very close to being correct in these assertions!

Brilliant and extremely well paid sales people in the defense industry..... and in the pharmaceutical industry...… and in agribusiness are selling plans to our political leaders that are terribly flawed......… based on what I have read so far anyway?!

Sales people in Monsanto........ are alienating American tourists and American made products in many nations.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...-could-utah-state-dollar-save-usa-dollar.html

Could a Utah State Dollar save the USA Dollar?

Have you seen any of the following films:

    1. The Future of Food
    2. Food Inc
    3. The World According to Monsanto.

If so..... then you know that the USA dollar to some degree is linked to and backed up by a plan to control the world's production of food in such a way that could eventually produce global famine.

Who was Baruch? Does anyone actually know? He is identified with several characters. Some early Syriac christians even identify him with Zoroaster, from whose teachings the Hebrews certainly learnt a lot.

Now that is an intriguing theory!

One that I had never read before. The Sleeping Prophet Edgar Cayce claimed to be the reincarnation of either Zoroaster or one of his sons or one of his leading diciples.... (Perhaps Zand.... if I remember correctly)?!

There are some groups within Judaism who.... would be wide open to the idea of a gifted Jewish scholar being the reincarnation of a Persian.... who would mentor and teach and set the stage for the coming of Cyrus..... much as John the Baptist set the stage for Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus!

I have seen them and others. I have been studying this monster for a long time. Just look at the price of a loaf of bread 3 bucks or more and 3 cents goes to the farmer. It does not cost the balance to grind flour, add water and yeast, heat and put in plastic bag.

The problem is in part that the farmer gets nothing, but also where the rest of the money goes. If it went into the farmers pocket the farmer will spend in the local economy. If the middle men making the rest of the profit lived in the area that money would go in to the local economy. They don't. The money goes to some nameless faceless shareholder who may not even live in the country never mind in the local region.

When you buy gas from "Exxon", the fellow running the gas station gets the chips and the pop. Not one penny of profits from the Gas. Again if the fellow did get that money he/she would spend it in the local economy. Instead it goes to some nameless faceless shareholder.

In the 50's the tax split between the Corps and the Workers was 50/50 now it is something like 20/80.

Try running a Corp without roads, police, infrastructure, electrical grid and so on. Somehow the worker is now footing a way higher percentage of the bill.

This is why I favor a higher min wage for workers for these large corporations ... McDonalds, Walmart and so on. A private business is different as the money is not being siphoned off.

I am not interested in footing the tax bill for McDonalds.

Price fixing and anti-competitive practices are rampant. Every time a regulation or tax law is made the Oligopoly is sitting at the table. The politician or Bureaucrat that is supposed to be representing the people is influenced by or in the pocket of the Oligopoly.

The oligopoly does not win every time however, over time, table after table, the rules of the game get skewed in favor of the Oligopoly and against the worker, competition and fair and free markets.

True story (from my life). I was in chemical sales. Used to be there were 7 or 8 companies vying for the high end business. If I was mistreated by one company there were a bunch of others vying for the attention of a good Sales Rep/Account manager.

20 years later there were 2 companies and this decreased wage competition. If you did not like Company A you only had one other company and they ran things exactly the same way. They would squeeze every penny out of the salesperson. Get a new contract (making the company more money) and you would get squat.

If the salesperson is getting his fair due, he is spending it in the local economy. Instead that money was transferred to some nameless faceless shareholder.

Noticed the other day that Dow and Dupont were merging. There is no way this should be allowed. The laws on the books are not enforced.

Make it into Congress and life is good. All of a sudden, insider trading is legal.

"I want in on that game " !! You (or your buddy) can sit on a committee that awards a contract to ABC company and invest in the company before the news hits the street.

Its a license to print money. Sure, there is a voice from time to time that speaks up. (Horton hears a Who). Folks will then point to this voice and say "Look ... we have free speech". While this is true ... the fact of the matter is that this lone voice is quickly drowned out by the cacophony on the take.

The monster is not created by some star chamber. The monster is the natural outcropping of self interest and greed.

The leaders of the military (Ex Generals and such) quickly find their pockets lined as lobbyists for the defense contractors.

The massive military Bureaucracy would not last for long without constant war and fear.

It goes on and on ... Why is it that every other first world country has universal healthcare except us ... yet, we pay more than any of these countries ?
Countries like Canada and those in Europe have massively bloated and hugely inefficient healthcare bureaucracies.

How is it possible that our "private" and therefore way more efficient system can cost more ?

It is not possible ... its called price fixing and anti competitive practices.

Another (Horton hears a who) ... every once in awhile we hear a voice or two calling for changes to Drug laws (allowing for Generics and so on)

Drowned out by the cacophony on the take ....

One possible remedy for this may well be local Farmer's Markets where locally produced goods can be sold.

Another possible remedy are LETS groups such as the Ithaca Hour or CalgaryDollars.ca/ up here in Canada. The nearest town to where I live..... Antigonish, Nova Scotia, now has a local LETS.

"One" of the problems is the influence of the Oligopolies on the regulations. Every time we have a regulation, law, or tax law made the Oligopolies are represented at the table. (and they should have a right to be there). The problem is that the Politicians and Bureaucrats that are supposed to be on the side of the little guy "we the people" are often in the pocket of, or influenced by the Oligopolies.

Over time, table after table, the rules get skewed in favor of the Oligopolies and against competition and free and fair markets.

I see you are from Canada. Here is and example from Canada of a farmers who are being run out of business by the Oligopoly-Bureaucracy Fusion Monster.

    http://news.nationalpost.com/news/c...cken-mafia-and-strict-supply-management-rules

This type of thing exists in every sector. We could go through hundreds of similar examples just like this.

Interesting commentary on Environmentalists. Get a group of 20 people together who can make pretty signs but know nothing about the issue they are protesting and this is how we make policy.

After protesting "I don't want a pipeline going through my land" , they get into their cars and drive home. hmmmm Where did you think the gas came from ?

This Keystone issue is straight out of a dumb and dumber (and dumbest) movie.

    1) 46% of oil to US refineries is imported from 70 countries - We either buy from Canada or "Nigeria".
    2) Obama's own study told him there is no significant CO2 difference. Anyone who has any clue about the industry already knew this but ... why no do a study and hold up the process for years. Most CO2 comes out the tailpipe and some conventional is equal to or greater than OilSand product.

    3) The number one environmental issue is pollution of the oceans - Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP's) and heavy metals. Number 2 and 3 are connected; Population Growth and Industrialization. Then comes CO2.

From an environmental perspective - A BARREL OF CANADIAN CRUDE IS WAY CLEANER. Nigeria is polluting the Oceans like crazy.

So lets not build the Keystone and cause way more environmental damage.

    4) Pipeline is way safer than tanker from an enviro perspective

    5) Money into Canada keeps it in the Continent. Many US companies operate in Canada's oil and Gas industry. For example, Exxon is called Esso/Imperial oil in Canada. They operate at least one refinery in Canada, a ton of gas stations, and produce oil.

Canadians spend massive amounts of money in the US. Last I checked they owned Arizona and half of Florida (Joke) running away from those cold winters.

Nigeria ? Qatar ? Spare me.

    6) Keystone will create huge numbers of jobs in the US during construction and a fair number after the thing is built. It will also carry oil from North Dakota to US refineries. (Lowering the shipping cost)

    7) Any good economist will tell you that the flow of global capital is really important to economic viability. Look at Cuba or Venezuela for an example of what happens when capital flows slow down.

The US has become a difficult place to do business in many areas due to painful regulations and bureaucracy. This makes Capital Cautious.

Here we had a company invest billions of dollars up front on the assumption that the US was not some puppet regime, that they were fair and honest brokers. The assumption that the Gov't will not make up the most nonsensical of reasons to block a project after billions have been spent.

Regulations make capital cautious. Uncertainty makes capital run for the hills. It is not like the competition for Global Capital is has not ramped up big time these days.

The whole world of Capital witnessed this TransCanada fiasco. This was a very big deal. TransCanada is now suing the US Gov't

    Dumb and Dumber.

No one can debate irrational, superstitious people.. Revelation is MUCH older than John of Patmos.. He just added some phrases to Jewish apocryphal writings to make it "Christian".

I'm confused what you're implying here exactly.

Egypt was not destroyed, otherwise the Pyramids would be gone. It was conquered, but it was not the end of the world. Read up on the Hyksos: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyksos

Superpowers, independent of the century you look at, always had some distinctive geographical advantage over their opposition(s). Egypt was brilliantly protected. Mediterranean in the North, desert into most other direction and the red sea to the East. This geographic isolation helped Egyptians to build upon their culture without real fear of enemies or investments into protection of their people. The Hyksos had a new weapon called the Chariot, which gave them a huge advantage on the field, but it didn't result in the destruction of Egypt.

This geographic advantage can be seen time again. Greece was isolated by mountains and seas. Rome isolated on a peninsula and with the Alps in the North. Both examples point out easy defense possibilities. Same is true today. The US is isolated by two Oceans and impossible to invade. No significant population, nor competition to the country's North, and dependent countries in the South. Requirement to defend their own soil is really small compared to most other countries on the planet. This also makes the US a player on the world stage because they really don't have to fear invasions, their "defense" spending is not really "defense" but "offense"...

Yes....... but according to Pastor David Herzog at least we Canadians as well as many people from America's First Nations communities will assist American Jews to make their way to Israel when things do get rough!

The only claim to being part of the new Beast - world ruling superpower state that we Canadians have is that we are so closely linked with the USA.

My theory at this time is that perhaps Pastor Shane Warren's visionary dream could become the basis for something entirely different...... perhaps... instead of a devaluation of the USA dollar...... all those Dollar Bills he saw falling could be a new currency...... put out by churches....... that finances documentary, reality and semi-reality science fiction film projects........... that actually assist many American Jewish families to make Aliyah to Israel at no cost to Israeli taxpayers??????!

But.... a case can be presented that when the descendants of Joseph, (Ephrayim and Manasseh) left Egypt....... they pretty much stopped winning major wars!

True.... the conquerors of Egypt did not attempt to tear down the pyramids..... but eventually they did burn the library at Alexandria as well as other treasures that made Egypt a major super power at that time.

Isaiah wrote about something done to residents of Egypt that is a testament to their eventual military weakness......

    Isaiah 20:3
America..... and to some degree Canada has presented ourselves to the residents of Israel..... that we are allies that they can depend on. G-d is interested in making sure that H-s people....... trust H-m....... not their allies.....

At the G-8 meetings back in 2011 President Obama proved to Israel that America could not be trusted....... but was subject to being blown around by political winds.

I am proud of Canada's P. M. Stephen Harper for how he acted at that time.

I will address as much of it as I can.

The bible, as much as you want to see it differently is not a history book. It is a book with a collection of ancient stories, which to an extent are true. The story from the bible you mentioned is dated roughly at 1200 BC at the earliest. The Hyksos I imagined you meant as the conquerers of Egypt predated that by 450 years and were gone 350 years before too. With the Hyksos we're looking at a timeframe of roughly 1650 to 1550 BC. After that Egyptian Pharaos ruled again. In the 4th century BC the library of Alexandria was actually build. The name Alexandria comes from the Macedonian (or Greek so I can be politically neutral) Alexander the Great who conquered the region 332 BC. The destruction of the library is to this day disputed. The earliest date is set with Caesar Civil war in 43 BC and the latest with Muslim conquest of Egypt in 642 AD. Probably neither is true because not all the content was destroyed at once. The question historians face, is when was most destroyed, and either of the dates mentioned is unlikely.

This is only to address the timeframe of the beginning. Egypt's importance was a major power was maintained long after Isiah left. This culture as a superpower is documented over many thousands of years, and didn't end with the stories in the Bible. Also, it wasn't the only superpower at the time, but because of it's geographic isolation it outlasted most others. If these prophets from the bible had been in Greece at the time they'd be talking about Mycenaean Greece. If they had been in today's Turkey they'd be talking about the Hittites. If they had been in todays Iraq or Syria, they'd talk about Assyria.

The problem is that the general public doesn't know the history of these empires, however knows a little about Egypt precisely because of the bible. I don't blame them though. If I hadn't gone to college and gotten my degrees in history I probably wouldn't know about this either. It is so complicated that it takes years to really understand the context of all these countries and their relationship to each other. The timeframe is also a huge problem, because few realize when something in history happened, and they put things into the same era which are centuries or thousands of years apart.

Christianity evolved out of the Jewish religion, hence the stories focus on the Jews in the old testament, and points them out as being of great importance. I hope you can tell that because of that, the jewish community are singled out so many times, and other people's usually ignored. This is again based on the bible, however historically not accurate.

The Jewish community didn't convert other people to their religion. A weakness the Christians and Muslims improved on. You were either born into this faith or not. As a result of this, the Jewish community tended to be a minority in most societies and countries. Only 14.2 million people are Jewish today, which is roughly 0.2% of the worlds population. Israel is home to about 8.5 million inhabitants of whom 6.3 million are Jewish. 2.8 million people live in the West Bank and 1.8 million people live in the Gaza Strip. In other words roughly 5 million people face oppression and are also acknowledged to being oppressed by most countries in the world. The USA's veto in the UN is the only thing that stops Palestine from becoming a country and the people actually getting some basic rights. On 23 December 2015 the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution demanding Palestinian sovereignty over the natural resources in the Palestinian territories under Israeli occupation. It called on Israel to desist from the exploitation, damage, cause of loss or depletion and endangerment of Palestinian natural resources, the right of Palestinians to seek restitution for extensive destruction. The motion was passed by 164 votes to 5, with Canada, Federated States of Micronesia, Israel, Marshall Islands, and the United States opposing.

This idea that Israel is so greatly under threat is based on the fact that most countries in the world don't support the war on Israel's side, and few countries do. It is no wonder that Israel doesn't get along with any neighbor. I tend to compare Israel's attitude towards muslims similarly to Apartheid in South Africa...

But back to the statement that America as an ally of Israel cannot be trusted. This UN General Assembly is one example why Israel has not faced consequences for their actions yet. Also foreign aid by America to Israel is huge. Germany's total reparations for the holocaust since 1945 are smaller than what the USA gives Israel in foreign aid every few years. To top that off, Israel is an undeclared nuclear power. Having conflicts with their neighbors, oppressing Palestine, and their general conflicts with the Muslims in that region, make them specifically threatening to anybody living nearby. Israel's arsenal is estimated between 60 to 400 nuclear warheads making them (if you look at the top end of the estimates) the 3rd largest nuclear power in the world. Israel is a very dangerous neighbor to have. I must point out, that all the things mentioned have nothing to do with being Jewish. This is geopolitics!

Thank you. Unfortunately that may be true. You have to keep in mind how complicated these things really are. I remember that I had to read this ancient history stuff over and over again before it made any sense to me. Egypt is important usually for two reasons: The fact that ancient artifacts have been collected by both the French and the British but they couldn't move the Pyramids and both peoples like to parade with their conquests over the years, and second: we can actually read Hieroglyphics since Napoleon stumbled across the Rosetta stone.

It would be possible that we would be more fascinated with a culture in India or South America, but unfortunately we can't read it. If I recall right, there is a huge selection of documentation from India dating back to 3000 BC, but we can't read any of it. Sumerian has a similar issue. While we can read it, only 20 people in the world know the language enough to actually translate peaces of it, because a significant part of the vocabulary is unknown. To top it off, we only have translated roughly 15% of all the texts we have. Over 80% were never even looked at. They're still lying in some archive in (usually) Britain. Sumerian would be particularly interesting because it was the language of religion, science, literature and the language of scholars until 500 BC even though the language got extinct I believe nearly 1500 years earlier. You could compare it to Latin today, which is an extinct language, but is still used for particularly the same purpose as Sumerian was about 3000 years ago.

People also have to keep in mind that it is very hard to make archeological digs to gain new information. Some cities in Europe and especially in the middle east are thousands of years old, and you just can't close down the downtown area for a few years and dig 30 to 40 feet to find remains of these ancient cultures. Nobody would approve and nobody would finance such a thing...
