See, that's the problem: the kurds hate the turks, and they will always want an independent Kurdistan. yes, they might fight against ISIS, but after they're dead, then what? They'd turn to turkey of course, with experience, training and equipment, starting a war there. A war they'd very likely lose btw, as they have no chance against the turks. And for all the glorification of kurds going around these days, we must remember that groups like PKK are maoist and terrorist. These are basically the same kind of communists fools like the FARC in colombia, or any other commie militia elsewhere. Such people can never be true friends of the west, because the hate the fundations of our societies. They are communist, we are capitalist. Do you think they'd still be friends to the west when they have no need of our help anymore, and when they are trying to set up their little commie state, and while we are still friends with turkey? I think not. They are not our friends, and they cannot be our friends. And trading turkey for the kurds is just a stupid trade, as the kurds are much weaker, unreliable, and not even a state. We have to side with turkey, and they've been our friends for decades. Is it not respectful to your friends to help groups which have done terrorist attacks against them.

I have news for you, the US is there and it's backing everyone... I guess to be on the winning side?:oldman:

The Syrian YPG Kurds are supported by the U.S. military. They received weapons and ammunition from the U.S. military and, at least in the east, have some U.S. military special forces embedded with them.

These Pentagon supported YPG troops currently fight foreign proxy forces in the Azaz pocket which are supported, equipped and paid by the CIA, the Saudis, the Turks and other Arab U.S. "allies". The CIA is running the show.

The Turkish NATO member is shelling the Pentagon supported YPG to protect the CIA supported "moderate rebels". The current CIA director was once the CIA Chief of Station in Riyadh and has intimate connection to the Saudi rulers (and their pockets?).

Turkey will not invade Syria. UN has told them to stop dropping mortars. If they continue, Russia will have every legal excuse to destroy the Turkish artillery positions.

They have been Asked by everyone to stop. Let me guess, some Turkish equipment will blow up and Turkey will cry foul to their friends who are growing more distant by the day. Erodogan seems convinced that the west will choose him over the Curds.

I'll laugh if this happens, Turkey cries to UN, and then the UN will say "we told you to stop, blame yourself"

And then putin will have the leeway after this to destroy any Turkish equipment endangering targets in Syria

Well, that makes sense to me.
But, the UN has not been known for having good sense.

What do you think? Are those people who crossed the border really rebels, or Turkish/Saudi special forces disguised as rebels?

500 rebels cross Turkish border towards Syrian town of Azaz: Observatory

It minus well not matter because whether they are special forces or not, they would still be foreigners and nothing more.

Yep, let's really laud the foundations of our society shall we.

    Source

    And:

    Source

    And finally:

    Source

Nice foundations you speak of... that favour 85 uber wealthy people over millions and millions of Americans - and successive US administrations that unbuckle and bend over for those 85 people along with the other members of the richest 1% - while ignoring the wishes and desires of the 99% of American citizens.

American freedom and democracy. Don't you love it.

What genocide my friend? We are now having 3 million Syrians at our country officially, 4 million Syrians unoficically. WHO is telling you these stupid stories? We are as clean as White paper. We did not kill millions of indians like Americans, we did not kill millions of Brazilian-Mexican-South American natives like Spanish and Portugeese, we did not kill millions of Algerians like French, we did not kill millions of many nations like Russians during USSR.
Our country was allways a safe port for all refugees.
Erdogan is another story. We have him because of USA. Because of EU. They supported him until the last minute. I am sure still they are all happy about him because they have made him do their all dirty work in Middle East.
In any case; we have no problems with Kurdish people. Unlike many other nations we marry Kurds and they marry Turks. Millions of families are mixture of Turks and Kurds. So,those WHO want to seperate are just causing a very long headache.
In our country nobody will see any other country unless if all Turks will be killed.

    - - - Updated - - -

Then I really can not understand what similarities you have found between Scotts and Kurds.

Erdogan is an idiot and he surely can be coward but not as coward as Putin.
We are here. As allways. If anybody has those balls on them send the nukes, missiles, soldiers, jets, whatever they have on them.

That's easy to explain. You're entirely focused on Turkey and the Kurds fighting in open warfare. Whereas I'm talking about reaching a political settlement in an amicable way. Your view is entrenched. Mine is open and reasonable.

    Simples.

Its not happening.....BO has urged Putin not to destroy the Syrian Rebel Terrorists. Again.....This is the 3rd time BO has asked, urged and each and everytime. Putin has killed another Rebel Leader and continues to take out the Sunni Rebel Terrorists.

BO peep specifies.....and Putin says. We Kill Daesh, AQ, and any other terrorists. Tells BO Erdogan is funding Terrorists and if he crosses over into Syria. Then I will kill him too.

US needs to tell him.....he start war. I decide if Turkey is stuffed or barbecued.

I supposed mostly armenian genocide, which is still being hidden from tukish cityzens. As an example of what can be done.

So what? the citizenship and national self-indentity are different.

    History. Political news. Mainly.

Tuks succeeded multinational population of Byzantine empire. Greeks. Bulgarians. Armenians. Kurds. In some years the Ottoman Empire transformed into almost a monoethnic state. And the territories which gained independence didn't include all of the nations, which constituted the population of the Empire. Unlike former USSR, which despite billions of unknown victims desintegrated into national states which could hardly happen after a genocide. For now the dominant idea and way for kurds is to self-identify themselves as turks. But these guys have a different view and the contradiction can lead to a BIG civil conflict. Every nation nowadays tries to depict themselves as a white paper. But it doesn't look sane when the ideology of white paaper is brought outside the internal propaganda.

Syria also used to be such a port. The history of midddle East is tragic and full of blood. Sometimes because of the invaders, sometimes because of inner conflicts. And when the war starts people remember not the examples of good behaviour of their current enemies. Let's remember the past years when russian tourists were the backbone of turkish tourist industry. These days are gone. They are history. And all the numerous ties between millions of people mean less than articles of dozens propaganda spreader and exmples of hatred and blood of tens of victims of unknown terrorist attacks.

Unfortunately the regular people don't want any conflicts and it means nothing for those who want it.

I have a neighbour. A kurd. I don't like him a lot for they stay apart from everyone else, have a business where they employ other kurds. But he is a part of our society even though I am not sure that their business is 100% clean and legal. And once I needed help (when I was at school) the father of this jurd helped me which I certainly remember. I had a turk at former job. (not sure about the spelling - 'muskhetian' probably). A wonderful person. I have nothing against. So please get me right. When I say about the crimes or genocide I don't blame the people. Not even americans. :) I also spent some summers in the US and met a lot of different but naturally good people. We all deserve peace and life.

I am glad to hear this part. Although I am not sure that it is very safe for you. In your place I would rather watch what you write about your President and Prime minister. Because of what I see happening in Turkey - I see a lot of things that say of stricting the inner policy.

They do exist. The only thing which can bring all of these people together is a strong economy and democratic principles. But not in times of war.

    Not all. But a lot...
Is there any sense for a terrorist to attack if it doesn't get into the news and provokes the political actions against the desired aim? If not then who gets the profits of all the blood spilt?

Can you tell me the difference between the 'ISIS terrorist' and 'moderate syrian opposition'? Not that those who are bad guys - are ISIS and good ones are 'moderates'. But essential one. Maybe one of these groups proposes a political way out and the other just wants to take over Assad no matter what. Maybe one of the groups gets support from the territory of Turkey and the other is fed by poor local syrians. Maybe one groups screams allshuakbar here and there and another shouts about 'liberty! brotherhood! equality!' Perhaps there is a severe battle between the moderates and ISIS which is as tough as the one which kurds or Syrian army has with them. At least something! If you know it and it makes sense - write to BO, because this is exactly the question he failed to answer Putin so far. For now BO tries his best to lecture Putin on why Assad should leave and try to order russian bombers whom to bomb as if he had 1% of success fighting against ISIS comparing to what the alliance of Syria Iran and Russia have on the battlegrounds there.

The main problem is that Washington started the so called arabic spring and spent billions of dollars to make a bloodshed in the world. At the moment it is a visible failure to achieve any demands which peaceful protesters started with. It looks that either US failed to bring democracy into the region or it was a plan to bring war there from the very beginning. That is what is a problem.

A man from Russia tells what genocide is ? Russians are the master of genocide from the history. Crimean Tatars? Circassians ? Chechens ? and so on Which one you want to hear ?

There is no Armenian genocide,it was a real deportation. There were 1.8 to 3 million Armenians lived in Ottoman Empire. But even Today in California more than 1 million Armenians live in. And total Armenian diaspora is more that 5 millions and even you say Armenians are hidden citizens in Turkey. Therefore mathematically Genocide is impossible.

    And this is off-topic.

Yeah there is one.....Daesh believes in a Caliphate and will not bend over for nor kiss any Saudi ass. Whereas the Sunni Rebels Terrorists in Syria.....will get down on their knees and lovingly kiss the Saudis Ass, with Slurps too.

    This question has missing elements.

What is the moderate syrian opposition ? Who are they ? At first, this must be answered.

Yeah. We are bad. I have for now thousands of crimean tatars inside Crimea and plan genocide this summer on vacation. And chechens according to the best friend of Russia in the forum (Litwin) have raped every russian soldier already. And still a favourite place for crimean tatars is Crimea and chechens prefer to stay in Chechnya. Not in California... But if you see no contradiction here your belief in russian ability of genocide is the most solid in the world. For it is blind.

I see no sense in these figures. Genocide is not excused if the amount of people of a certain nationality stays the same after it. There is no merit of turkish politician that 1 million people live today in California. Zero. However there is certainly their fault that they became allied with Germans, lost the war and in an attempt to preserve national pride won the victory over defenseless people of different nationality. This crime is worse than Stalin's crime made to crimean tatars. For Stalin resettled crimean tatars a great number of whom were collaborating with Hitler. If these people were russians he would just hang them and end of story. But this way a big number of crimean people would go and the nation would disappear. So he decided to resettle them. But it was still a crime. Armenians made no harm. They were just sacrificed in order to allow turkish nation to feel superior to anyone...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armen...lation.2C_deaths.2C_survivors.2C_1914_to_1918

There are different points of view.

Which I don't have to report. Because at the brink of the new 'impossible' event not only kurds might fall the victims of new catastrophe. The time is needed to make a family, to rise children, to build, to repair, to make... Killing is quick. You have your victim kneeled, say 'allahuaakbar' and cut the throat. End of story. So I prefer to talk and think first before acting the fastest way.

Those of you Russians on here I have a question about the Kurds and you.

So far it seems, like you said in your OP Jeanette, that both the US and Russia are allies with the Kurds.

My question is does Russia support and independent Kurdistan and what if part of that new country is a chunk of Syria.

You guys are pretty open and loud (not a bad thing) about your countries views, so if I missed you already saying an answer my apologies.

For a historian. Yes. But for a politician this knowledge is excessive. It is already decided that ISIS is the enemy of Russia, Iran and Syria. They have an organisation. They have policy. They actually declared the state of war themselves. The problem however is that at the moment there are different groups of people (ranging from 3-10 people to some thousands or even millions) who attack the same alliance in the same theatre of war. Once you are in the frontline you have no time and aim to question every person of who and what he is. It's easy. He has a weapon and doesn't surrender? He needs to be killed. Or he will kill you. IF BO or Erdogan or whoever knows a better way how to fight ISIS - they had and still has all the time and possibility in Iraq. But it doesn't seem that they want to use this chance to contribute to the war their part. They still try to lecture their opponents how they must and mustn't defend themselves... Hm... What would you say if I start to lecture how to treat your wife and children and do your job?
