I guess one of those turtles he was keeping in his pocket turned out to be a snapping turtle and nailed him in his thumb traumatizing him to the point he had to run like a rabbit. I guess he won't be appearing on Jeopardy either.
A year ago or so I thought of him as the presumptive Republican nominee who would lose to Hillary Clinton. He was right to drop out. It is time to give it up.
That is a good one! Neither one of the bozo's they have running this time will win. Dems idea of leading is akin to the first lemming off the cliff.
It is also time for Cruz and Rubio to give it up - Trump will sweep the Super Tuesday SEC primaries. Even though he is not going to win the nomination, Bernie Sander's is racking up points against Hillary Clinton that will weaken her in the general election. Donald Trump against Hillary Clinton for the Presidency? Trump eats her like cheap sushi - what isn't the GOP establishment understanding? Trump represents outside power coming to Washington for the first time, to break the Beltway gridlock both parties have had there, in do-nothing performances for over 16-years. In Rubio's case, he can drop out and endorse Trump (he isn't going to soar to the nomination, he is just battling against Trump, who is winning). Rubio - Cruz sparring match while Trump puts up victories, doesn't help anybody but Trump. If Rubio pulled out, now that Jeb Bush has finally been brushed aside (and REAL early BTW), he probably gets the Vice Presidential nod, and an easier run at the White House in four or eight years when he might just be ready for the job. Trump is ready for the job right now, that's why he is maintaining his lead. There also is a strange possibility (since Cruz wouldn't be acceptable), that Trump taking the GOP nomination - taking Jeb Bush as Vice President. After all, the well trained for the Presidency, George H.W. Bush, spent eight years under Ronald Reagan, than walked into the White House. Jeb Bush would be attractive although Trump has lambasted him in the run so far, but when it gets to nomination time - the Vice Presidential choice becomes important. Personally, I would like to see Trey Gowdy run with Trump, unleashing two attack dawg's on Hillary and the Democrat's, but Rubio, Bush, or possibly Kasich would also be comfortable choices. Cruz, not a chance. The first of the two out of the race who throws support to Mr. Trump should get that VP nod (Governor Christie, I would imagine would be the Attorney General in a Trump administration), Kasich from Ohio sticking around instead of pulling out and endorsing Trump, is stupid. He could help the GOP win, particularly being popular in Ohio, a very necessary state in the general. Anyway, Mr. Trump continues to win, the mainstream media is now gearing up to ask him all the tough questions, no other candidate in the race has been more open to appear in favorable or unfavorable venues to speak to the media, and yet the GOP establishment still is fighting to knock him out, and than go on an lose to Hillary Clinton. Quite unbelievable.............
Great perspective, IMO. I agree with you that Cruz is out as a VP. I think Jeb is out too - too much bad blood between them. Rubio is a possibility, but I think Kasich would be a better choice. Just for fun, let me throw you a curve ball, OK? This may sound crrrrrrrazy, but .... What if Trump got Jim Webb to switch parties and join him? (I'm not sure if he'd even have to switch) Webb is a moderate-conservative Democrat. He is a former Marine and war hero from Viet Nam. He was awarded the Navy Cross, the Silver Star, and two Bronze Stars for his bravery in battle over there, along with two Purple Hearts. He has been a Senator, and served as Secretary of the Navy under Reagan. He is a huge supporter of the military, but he is cautious about entering into wars which I think is also true of Trump. A Trump-Webb ticket would have a great chance of wooing Democratic voters, especially blue-collar, unionized, working people. This ticket would be an all-out attempt to take the middle-of-the-road voters of both parties. Since the Dems are going to nominate either Hillary or Bernie, conservative Republicans would have no choice but to vote Trump/Webb, or they could just not vote or throw their votes away on a third party. But I'm not sure it would matter. The other thing I like about this is that it would be the ultimate poke in the eye to the Republican establishment, saying that the status quo gridlock is O-V-E-R. "I'm going to unite this country!" I'm just one person, but a move like that would have a great appeal to me. I have just got to believe I'm not alone. What do ya think about that???
