San Jose is a sanctuary city. That means that they refuse to enforce Federal Immigration laws, and encourage illegals to live there. Believe it or not, there are also some legal citizens. There are also some of these citizens that support Presidential Candidate Donald Trump. There are others that want to hear for themselves what Trump had to say. Like any candidate would do, Trump scheduled a rally for the legal voters to come out to hear what he had to say. These legal citizens were then physically attacked by the illegal residents. They were attacked by people that should not even be in this country. Now, giving the illegals the benefit of the doubt, they might not understand the concept of freedom of speech. Heck, they might not even realize that they can't legally vote in the upcoming elections. (Though, I have no doubts that liberals are already scheming ways to get as many as possible to cast illegal votes for the Democrat candidate.)

So, how did the Mayor of San Jose respond?:

My response to San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo is that at some point you need to learn that that the irresponsible actions is allowing people that should not even be in this country run your city. You need to take a stand to protect the rights of your legal citizens, and the democratic process. I further call upon you to stop enabling the thuggish behavior that was on display.

To the legal citizens of San Jose. If the Mayor does not answer that call then recall his ignorant posterior end.

The police were also told to stand down and they purposefully blocked off the closest entrance to the parking garage forcing Trump supporters through the protesters/rioters.

This is the future America, but everywhere. I see it in areas of S Florida. Feels like you're not even living in the US. It's rather disturbing and our politicians allowed it to happen by not enforcing immigration laws and not punishing those caught. Hey, let's elect MORE people who will continue to let the country go down the (*)(*)(*)(*)ter, as long they get votes and can retire early with huge pensions at the tax payer expense. They're such wonderful people. 😃

Documentation as verbiage from the Mayor or the actions by the SJP?

Documentation as words on paper, or on computer screens, you know, like, DOCUMENTS??. The mayor's verbiage and the actions of some entity leave us open to all sorts of implications and innuendoes. I realize these are stock in trade of the political process to Republicans but those of us who don't believe in institutionalised corruption look for something less ephemereal to work with.

Do you have anything to show they were illegal immigrants? The only protester interviewed in your link is American born.

    Good point!

While the OP is at it he could also document how Tr(oll)mp's freedom to lie about Americans of Hispanic descent was "infringed" by those exercising their own right of assembly and free speech?

Are only the odious bigoted views of Tr(oll)mp allowed to be heard?

You do realize that just because they claim to be born in the US does not prove anything? How many of the protestors had one or more parents that are illegals?

Even if they are completely legal citizens, do you condone their behavior? Would you take their side if they were protesting Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders? Why is it that liberals can't seem to be able to stage a peaceful protest anymore? The Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter, and now the anti-Trump protests all end up in violence. For a bunch of peace loving hippies, you sure are a violent group. What's next, "give up your guns, or we'll shoot you"? "Kill the fetus, or we'll kill the mother"?

Just thought you should know, freedom of speech does not include violence and arson. They once taught that in school. Maybe you were sick that day.

When someone says that they want power so that they can silence you and deport you, I can understand why people would response to that violently and not want them to have a platform.a

Where did I claim that violence was covered by freedom of speech?

In future please refrain from spurious flamebaiting.

That does not justify the violence.

In fact nothing justifies the violence.

Those who want power for nefarious purposes deserve to be ridiculed as un-American but violence is never an answer.

When those people are breaking the law by being here in the first place, they need to be silenced and deported. But whether they are here legally or not, no one has the right to attack people just for attending a rally. It is amazing that liberals only believe in the Constitutional rights of those that agree with them!

When does violence become the answer?

I'm going to bring up the hyperbolic example of Hitler. I'm aware that, as much as I loathe Trump, he's yet to be anywhere near that evil, but this is just a thought experiment. At what point was it okay to resist the nazis violently? Surely, by 1940 with the holocaust and their expansion it was more than acceptable to wage underground war against them, but were the nazis not violent and bigoted before then?

This thread is about the violent tactics of the protesters. You expressed concern for their "rights". I simply clarified they have no "rights" for violent protests.
Perhaps your post was meant for another thread concerning peaceful leftist protests. Very rare these days I wish you luck finding it. Thanks.

Onus is on those making the allegation to substantiate that the protesters were not American citizens.

Yes, they were. The 1936 Olympic games were an affront to their bigotry when Jesse Owens beat the "white pride" of Germany. And yes, they had been involved in violent confrontations with other political parties long before they came to power.

What might be a closer metaphor for this thought experiment is the British Union of Fascists.

The Battle of Cable Street looks like that may be where this is headed.

That a peaceful protest turned violent does not alter the original intent of the protesters and neither does it alter their right to protest.

Do you imagine that there was zero incitement to violence on the part of the Tr(oll)mp supporters?

Ironic given that heavily armed Tea Partiers who were targeting Town Hall meetings in 2008 were not called "righty anti Americans" by those opposing them.

Do you often bring eggs to a peaceful protest? Answers your question about original intent doesn't it.
The fact you cannot even type Trumps name in a civil manner also answers that question.
It's simple reality that leftist protesters are prone to violence. The only incitement they seem to need is others they disagree with having the same rights as them.
Anything else you need help with?

Communists and Anarchists have always been on the front line of resistance to fascism. Makes me proud to hear about things like this.

The law is a poor judge of what is right. The best parts of the law are good customs we could follow anyway, but the worst parts of the law are nothing but tools for the ruling class to maintain their dominance.
