The root of the problem is fake degrees that aren't even worth the paper they are printed on. It costs two to three times as much to educate an engineer than a "studies" major. But guess what they all pay the same tuition. These fake degrees are major cash cows for greedy administrators because they have hardly any overhead.

Nothing will change until Congress says enough, no more scholarships, no more grants, no more loans not one red cent for these fake fields. If some ugly barista with a pierced septum and a neck tattoo wants a gender studies degree she can pay for it herself.

I guess Republicans somehow don't understand the crushing debt that young people are living with.

What they don't realize is that it's strangling our economy

The crazy thing is that these kids have 6 figure debt at like 6% interest. That's mortgage money but mortgages are running at 3.5% and the college debt is government guaranteed!

In reality it should be 1.5% or 2%.

I don't think it's a matter of the degrees themselves. For example, I can definitely see the point in having a double major in marketing and psychology. Or business and psychology. Sure psychology on its own may not be the most profitable field, but a person with a psychological background in advertising, well we see the profitability in that everyday.

How is your life truly made "miserable"? You make a great upper middle class income. You're set for life.

Now that said, I agree that your income bracket is taxed too much. However I would also say, as I believe Sanders and other Progressives would and do say, that your middle upper class income is taxed so heavily because the people above you in income, the true upper class and then beyond that at the capitalist class level, refuse via their political influence to pay taxes and or have their wealth regulated to an extent that would mean small fish making 100-200-300k a year wouldn't be taxed at all. That's the reason you are taxed so unfairly, because the two income brackets above you, upper and capitalist class, put the tax burden on you, a small fish in comparison, instead of themselves because there are more of you than them. What they do is paint people like you making a chump 100, 200, or 300k as the rich people while they, the upper and capitalist class, who are worth millions and billions, hide in the shadows as if they don't even exist.

I'm 62.

How typical

Right...the solution to crushing student debt is even MORE crushing debt.

That's the standard conservative approach...

Amazing. We have virtually identical incomes and I live in a much more expensive area than you and for some reason "high taxes" aren't that big a deal to me.

I guess Democrats just aren't the whiners that conservatives are.

It's obvious.
I tell you what, when I'm working; It's unacceptable for anyone to be on their phone.

So as part of the top 10%, when do you start giving up your possession for the bottom 90%. Put your money where your mouth is.

Keeping people on Unemployment for years has not helped the work ethic at all, unfortunately. You can thank the O for that one.

A convicted criminal is dissing another generation?

:roflol:

But let's just look at the definition of a special snowflake;

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Special Snowflake Syndrome

Martha Stewart fits the description of being a special snowflake.

But if there was a competition as to who is the biggest special snowflake of all it has to go to Tr(oll)mp!

No one else has a greater unwarranted sense of entitlement than Tr(oll)mp right down to the "child-like behavior, temper tantrums, and/or fits of narcissictic rage".

Anytime someone says "nobody needs fill in the blank" whatever point they were attempting to make goes right into the trash.

Btw, I fit into the majority of what you claim to be, clearly not the progressive lib though.

Bailing out the banks was not supported by most people, myself included. Unlike the left, I don't goose step with anyone with an "R" next to their name.

No kids who chose worthless degrees because they wanted to party, drink, (*)(*)(*)(*), and get high are strangling our economy.

My generation entered the work force during the savings and loan crisis. When responded by inventing the Internet economy. Your generation is worthless.

Oh no the only reason ghetto loser melenial goes to college is because the government will back her loan regardless of her degree. If the state start limiting this money to those who can actually pay it back then there is no debt problem.

to be fair not all young people went to Sanders for free stuff, some actually wanted living wage jobs brought back to America by ending the trade agreements which outsource jobs.

so many young people if they are genuine about their stance, will support Donald Trump simply on trade and bringing living wage jobs back.

most ghetto loser millenials go to college for a living wage job, not for an art degree or to sit around and do nothing.

many who have legitimate degrees can't get jobs because the corporations sent their jobs to other countries, or hired a skilled foreigner who will do their job for less money.

Actually you can thank the GOP Congress that has stifled ay kind of Federal hiring.

During the Obama tenure there has been reasonable private sector hiring (as opposed to the previous administration that had ZERO) and negative government hiring (The only job growth in the entire 8 years of the previous administration was in Federal hiring)

That's lost jobs and higher than it should be unemployment. So thank the GOP.

No but they are the ones who spoiled their second kids rotten. Us first kids were simply neglected but that isn't so bad at least we learned to be self-reliant.

the reason why many with college degrees with hundreds of thousands in student loan debt are making french fries is because the rich have sent their jobs to other countries, or hired foreigners from other countries with higher skills to take their jobs at home.

another reason you should vote for Donald Trump, if you are a young person.
