'strongman' is a myth & simplification, no strong man can rule a country as vast as, say, Russia etc.

the difference is that Nikolai II & his court ruled the country themselves, whereas Putin rule is only a part of world geopolitics.

That's what the Stalinist trolls would argue....much like the Nazi trolls arguing that the Jews in the concentration camps died of a natural death as well. You people are insane.

You have written that it is "an old proverb."
(*)I proved that it can not be old.

Even if you somehow knew the exact original source of the proverb, it changes nothing and still reflects the opinions of the Ukrainian people about their Russian enemies.

Can you name the reason why the Ukrainian people began to consider Russian their enemies?......turn on all your imagination.
I asked Ukrainians about it. They did not answer this question. Maybe you can. ,,,, :)

Well the point is that the Russians, pretty much throughout recent history, have never been known for their subtlety, either domestically or internationally. Putin is no different then his mentors, the old communists, and the commies weren't much different than the tsars in their methods of governing. There has never been democratic government in that country and it seems there is no tradition for modern Russians to draw from. Basically, Russians are comfortable with autocrats. Everything else is window dressing. A Potemkin village.

And this goes for a lot of other former colonies of the Western powers. Africa, for example, is still pretty much a basket case. Indo-China, too.

They are not insane. They are brainwashed. It's truly not their fault. They actually believe this nonsense because of generations of fear.

1 ... If you say that Stalin was to blame for the deaths of 20 million Jews, you should give the reference.

Again....why don't you look it up? Here's one....but there are thousand s more:
How many people did Stalin kill? – History of Russia
    historyofrussia.org/stalin-killed-how-many-people/
Again, most of these deaths are attributable to famine, and political decisions such as the Great Leap Forward which, alone, is estimated to have a death toll of 18-45 million. Based on the estimates above of 20 million deaths, Stalin would come second in the list of dictators who killed the most people.

    - - - Updated - - -

Stalin was an equal opportunity killer....much like Assad is now. He murdered his enemies and he murdered his allies & own people.

It is difficult to argue, but your figures are much too high.

    If Stalin destroyed 18 - 45 million until 1941 .... and if the war killed 27million 1941 , a total of ~ 40 turns - 85.

(*)Who restored the Soviet Union in 1960?

If Stalin killed 20 million Jews, then why are the Nazis being blamed? Weren't the holocaust victims from Eastern Europe?

Maybe the posters are right. If 27 million Christians were killed by the Bolsheviks, and another 3 million Christians left Russia during the revolution, then most of the people left in the USSR would have been Jews. Stalin must have felt that he had to kill them off so it wouldn't become a Jewish state.

The only problem with this is who was fighting the Germans in WWII... if there were no Christians and no Jews? Also if Stalin killed off all the Jews, then who did the Germans kill? Are they saying that those in the concentration camps were not Jews... or that the pictures were faked?

Oh then Stalin caused the famine not the weather? But Germany was also suffering a bad crop. ..which was probably the main cause of the depression. I guess Stalin did that too. Boy, he was all powerful, just like Putin... :oldman:

It's a proven fact he committed genocide. I don't care whether or not you want to whine about it.

Argue not with the closed-minded, the trolls, traitors or Russian propagandists....they will scream the opposite of what we know is true. They are a waste of time and forum space....and contribute nothing to intellectually discussion, ration thinking or common sense!
