Globalism vs. Nationalism (not Conservatism vs. Liberalism) is the Most Important Issue of our Time AND NOBODY ON THIS FORUM IS POSTING ABOUT IT.

Do conservatives understand that the split in the Republican party is caused by Nationalism?
Do liberals understand that the Bernie Sanders split in the Democrat party is caused by Nationalism?

Do Americans understand that the reason for these splits is that globalist politicians in BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES have been working together to ruin America for decades and people on both the left and right are fed up with it? Americans are fed up with globalist policies that put the interest of foreigners, immigrants and multi-national corporations over their best interests.

Do Republicans and Democrats understand that Nationalism in each party is not going away any time soon?

I held my nose when voting for both globalist, re-branded former liberals Mitt Romney and John McCain. Do Republicans understand that Nationalists won't do this again if Trump loses?

There is no difference between Democrats and the establishment 90% of the Republican party because they are all globalists. Trump was the only Nationalist running in the Republican primary and is the only Nationalist in the race.

Oh good Lord. The topic comes up 10 threads a day. I don't know why the OP thinks nobody here talks about it.

America’s freedom is tied to her economic independence

Alexander Hamilton wrote: ‘Not only the wealth, but the independence and security of a country, appear to be materially connected with the prosperity of manufactures. Every nation...ought to endeavor to posses within itself all the essentials of a national supply. These comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and defense. ‘ America’s political independence, Hamilton was saying, could not survive without economic independence. “

Agreed. . .globalism vs nationalism is the most important issue of our time, but I see it differently than your post. With modern technology permitting the global web (internet) connecting individuals around the world in private conversation without regard to national boundaries, individual rights to global communication is fast becoming a human right. With jets carrying thousands of passengers across oceans to foreign lands daily, and astronauts living in space orbiting the entire planet every 90 minutes continually, and human technology so profoundly impacting the majority of the Earth's land globally (as is profoundly visible from the International Space Station), humankind's relationship with planet Earth is becoming more and more globalized in nature. It is a natural process, and we're all participants, whether we like it or not. The truth is, we must find a way to begin thinking globally instead of nationally, or we'll endanger every living thing on the planet, including ourselves with our ignorance. History gives us centuries of potent examples of what to expect from nationalism--constant conflict and recurrent wars are highlights. We desperately need to move beyond the nationalism paradigm, and start seeing humanity as one species occupying a planet rather than a collection of separate tribal nation states. Globalism is inevitable if humankind is to mature to the next level of conscious development. It unites humanity as a single species and can be a force for incredible good, if we are wise enough to accept it and work with it as a friendly force. Nationalism is a divisive force which mankind has had ample experience with, and which holds no promise for a better future for humanity or this planet.

It will never work because humans are tribal animals to begin with. While thinking we all can get along with one another is a noble idea in reality it will fail simply because of human nature.

I would agree if we were all living in the Star Trek 24th century. But do you think the ME, Russia, and China are ready for the utopia you speak of? I don't.

History gives us great example of the deathcult of Globalism, every time nationalism arises is from globalist pushing their interests. There is no reason people cant fly to other countries, holiday and apply to become citizens if they up hold the laws, traditions and culture of that country. Unlike leftists we can get along with other people different to us, we like diversity around the planet where as the leftist will war, murder and conquer everything in their quest for a Utopian dream of everywhere being the same.

This is true. I'm not sure why everyone assumes that if you're okay with globalism you think its going to be utopia. Its just an unavoidable part of the future, it could be good or bad, but most likely we won't notice. Anymore than we notice piped in music when we're in the grocery store, it will just be part of how everything works in the future.

That's a bit pessimistic. There's always a first time for any new change. Globalization is new to mankind. There's been no opportunity for us to perfect it before, but we have that opportunity now. We MUST succeed. In the end, we'll have no choice.

Actually, I don't think any of them or us are ready. But the reality of the situation is that globalization itself will gradually force us to deal with it. Survival depends on it.

I do not see any proof that globalism is inevitable. It seems to be nothing more than pipe dreams of those who believe Star Trek is reality or at least wish it was reality. The reality is in my last post. To ignore the dark side of human nature is the folly of most ideologies.

Where is the proof that globalism is unavoidable? The Internet gives that illusion but that is all it is: an illusion. It is good you recognize that globalism could end up being bad. I consider Adolf Hitler the OG: Original Globalist.

If we don't extinguish ourselves first, I suppose that evolution will take us in that direction....

Nationalism is not the problem - it is the solution. True and lasting globalization, or internationalization, can be achieved through Fraternity. It is through Fraternity that we will bring about the Brotherhood of Man. You have to love yourself to be able to truly love others - and a citizen has to love their country before they are capable of being a good national citizen as well as a good global citizen. The only way to bring about true globalization is through nationalism so what is happening is good and a step in the right direction. The liberals got it wrong Im afraid. What they have been trying to do will never work.

History gives no examples of globalism leading to nationalism anytime or anywhere. Globalism is a new development in human history. It only started in its earliest and simplest stages during the 1980's, but developed mostly since the development of the internet after 1997. Yes, globalization involves some painful changes, but it offers much more that is positive than negative for future generations.

    Well said
I would add that it will have to occur naturally. Because if it is forced upon people, then it will be no better than a dictatorship.

You have that all kinds of wrong.
Globalists want to rule the world, control all the resources and the population.
In other words a group of elite want to enslave everybody and they have a comprehensive plan to do it.

Agreed. Globalization will have a mixture of good and bad qualities, like everything else in life. I agree with your comment, "it will just be part of how everything works in the future." With over 7 billion people on the planet already, if we don't work together, then we'll be caught up in perpetual conflict as shrinking resources elicit ever increasing competition. Not a viable option.

Thanks, and yeah I guess - but I think there is a way to give both the public and the elites what they want at the same time. But this cant be left up to the masses to work out themselves. Naturally. Then again - elites are not doing a fantastic job are they? I am sure someone will work it out.

Globalism is the ownership and control of global resources and responsibilities. Once a business or bank is involved heavily in almost every country in the world how can we pin it down to nationalistic expectations? Instead we have to hold it to 'global' expectations, because otherwise they just align themselves with whatever country demands the least of them responsibility wise.

The roots of globalism go all the way back to the league of nations, and have always been about judging the global impact of behaviors. Back then they could not conceive the future of communication networks so it was all about cooperation and justice between nations, but its always been about human rights and the impact leaders decisions have on them. Today its arguable that business interest and banking have as much, and in some cases more, impact on peoples lives than their national government. The balance of benefit to detriment needs to be constantly noted at least.

But even without any concern the actions of nations and global business will effect everyone in the world. All the borders are made up lines. I can buy things directly from the manufacturer in China easily and have them mailed to me within six weeks time, thats the real world today. With very little effort I can fly anywhere in the world in less than two days, and I can talk to anyone instantly----- Thats Global connection that has never existed before, like it or not.
