"Only 22 percent of Trump supporters believe he will start a nuclear war." http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box...ly-half-of-voters-think-trump-will-detonate-a The first part of the article is about all voters....but look at that polling of Trump supporters...not just voters in general- And think about that for a minute. Are they so cultishly in love with Trump....or so mind-numbingly obsessed with hating Hillary... that nearly a quarter of Trump SUPPORTERS are okay with the idea of electing a guy THEY think will start a nuclear war? Obviously they'd have no problem with "Nuremburg Laws" for Muslims....or concentration camps for undocumented immigrants....or Trump using his position to go after his political opponents.....that's just ordinary fascism. But at what point do 22% of his FANS decide to give up their own sense of self-survival out of a Moonie devotion to him....or a borderline psychopathic hatred of Hillary Clinton??? ((BTW, anybody who wants to dispute NBC/Survey Monkey polling....go for it. But remember, if YOU try to cite it in the future....there'll be a reminder.))
Dude, 22 percent of the 1,051 folks who were polled and think he'll start a nuclear war and still plan on voting for him is not that much. If it were, say, 35 percent, then it might be time to worry. But reading deeper into the article shows that this poll was commissioned by the Lincoln Leadership Initiative, which according to it's website is Nothing inspires confidence in the man like a poll commissioned by his own party that tells us 22 percent of Trump supporters polled already think he'll start a nuclear war, and still plan on voting for him.
You know the inevitable responses from the Trump Cult. It's NBC/Survey Monkey polling?....so they claim the poll is "skewed by the Liberal Media". (despite the fact that THEY have cited NBC/SM for good polls for Trump). It's commissioned by Republicans?....so they'll claim those Republicans are "RINO Establishment types." Maybe Trump's promised those 22% something special if they vote for him....
Back in 1980, 88% of Democrats believed that Reagan would start a nuclear war with in the first 90 days if Reagan became President. Playing the nuke card didn't work so the liberals went back playing the race card.
Uh, AR.....this is TWENTY-TWO PERCENT OF TRUMP SUPPORTERS.... not "Democrats" or "liberals". They're YOUR guys.
Who knows? But are you going to call them "stupid for believing Trump will start a nuclear war"? or "stupid for supporting Trump"?
Politico History 101: Since the early 1930's the Republican Party has been a minority party. Since 1952 the only time a Republican has won a Presidential election is when Democrats voted for the Republican candidate, Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, Bush (41) Bush (43). You ever heard of Reagan Democrats ? Now independent's really didn't start coming into play until the late 1990's. But who are the independent's ?
Where were you in 1980 ? Back in 1980 the loony left ran on a platform that if Reagan became POTUS he would start WW lll. Reagan was a cowboy who shoots from the hip. excerpt:
Looking for a link to the survey that showed 88% of Democrats believed that Reagan would start a nuclear war within 90 days of his election.
So the stat was BS. A few posts back you were ranting about the "loony left" and all along you were making stuff up. You're full of (*)(*)(*)(*).
No it wasn't. Where were you in 1980 " In fact where were you in 1964 ? The Democrat party in particular the criminally corrupt DNC has a long history of playing on the fears of Americans. Playing the nuke card is one of their favorites. And it worked back in 1964. Famous "Daisy" Attack Ad from 1964 Presidential ... -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDTBnsqxZ3k When the nuke card doesn't work the left always plays the race card but they usually use that card when they no longer have any other cards to play with. The uneducated card is a DNC favorite. The DNC and the Hillary campaign has come up with a new card to play, attacking the voters especially those who aren't voting for Hillary. Now we have the "deplorables" of racist, xenophobes, Islamophobes, and Hillary used a long list of phobes. Or Trump supporters are uneducated The Obama campaign and the DNC along with the MSM pulled off the same stunt in 2008, if you didn't vote for Obama you were a racist.
You are missing the point. The stats you cite (let's assume they are correct for the sake of argument) show that the spectre of nuclear war was a reason to vote AGAINST the candidate who was seen as possibly instigating a nuclear war. Nuclear war was rightly seen not just as a bad thing, but as an existential threat to the nation. Now, apparently 22% of Trump's supporters are prepared to vote for him even though they think he will start a nuclear war. That is frankly horrifying.
Start a nuclear war with what ? Under Obama our nuclear forces are in it's worse shape than any time in post WW ll history. The morale of our Air Force Missileers is at it's lowest level in history under Obama as CnC. Remember during a recent interview of Donald Trump when the liberal interviewer asked Trump if he knew what the "Nuclear Triad" was ? Like most liberals, they are unaware that the U.S. military hasn't had a Nuclear Triad since 1991. I suppose you can say we have a Nuclear Biad with a Conventional Unoad today and one of them is being used for liberal diversity social engineering under Obama. For the layman like Obama and liberals in general, the Nuclear Triad requires keeping a fleet of nuclear armed bombers in the air 24/7 and that hasn't been done since 1991 after Reagan won the Cold War. How about when Obama talked about "ships that go under water."
With the nuclear weapons in the US arsenal. What else? You wrote a lot of words but did not in any way address the substance of my post. I maintain that it is completely horrifying that 22% of Trump's supporters are prepared to vote for him even though they think he will start a nuclear war.
bx4, did you actually looked at the poll and how the question was asked not forgetting who was behind the poll ? Let's ignore that the poll was conducted for the soon to be former Republican establishment of globalist and the "New World Order." LINCOLN LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE Just a bunch of RINO's whining like Democrats. But this poll is a really strange poll when you look at how the questions were asked and they don't provide the results. Here's the question that was asked regarding to nukes. 5. On a scale from 0 to 100, where0 means there is no chance and 100 means it is a certainty, what are the odds that Donald Trump would authorize the use of a nuclear weapon against ISIS or another foreign enemy at some point in his presidency, if he is elected president? The polling doesn't show how many answered zero or 1 or 5 or 45, or 70 or 100. If a Trump supporter said there was a 1 in 100 chance that Trump would go nuclear was he one of the 22 % ??? I like this question and I'm going to replace Trump's name with Obama's name as if the polling was being conducted in 2008. 7. On a scale from 0 to 100, where 0 means there is no chance and 100 means it is a certainty, what are the odds that the U.S. would have race riots in major cities at some point in his presidency, if Barack Obama is elected president? I wonder what the results would have been 8 years ago ??? Here's the actual poll which really doesn't show the true results. -> http://www.lincolnleaders.org/risk-survey-data
Thank you for that last link. I had not seen that before, and I think I agree with you that it does not support the headline of 22% of Trump supporters think he will use nuclear weapons. As I read it, the 22% is the mean of responses (on the 0-100 scale) for DT supporters. So it is quite possible that no Trump supporters get past the 50% mark (i.e. think he is more likely than not to use nuclear weapons). It is really not possible to understand the survey without seeing the distributions in addition to the means. I also think it is a biased poll in that it asked only about what Trump would do - and not what Clinton would do. One thing that I think can be taken from the poll is that Trump supporters are less confident that he will fulfil his campaign positions than Clinton supporters are. He takes a policy position - Clinton supporters tend to take him at face value, whereas his own supporters apparently don't believe him.
It's one strange poll. Unless you can look at the actual results of the survey, this particular poll doesn't make any sense. Those who were surveyed were actually being asked to set odds and most people aren't qualified setting odds. One usually has to take a college course to learn how to calculate odds.
