What do you think that Jésus meant when he teached that ? :

" ... he who gives honour to an upright man, in the name of an upright man, will be given an upright man's reward. 42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he will not go without his reward. 41" Mat 10

" And whoever gives honour to one such little child in my name, gives honour to me " Mat 18.5

the verse means go out and tell this myth to everyone you see, those who welcome you are good people and of course that means they believe in me and my father too (which of course the father is me, but don't think about that too much)

and if you take cold water from a well and give the cold water to a child.... it honors me, which honors my father, which of course is also me (again don't think about that too hard)

and of course if they don't welcome you, they must be bad people, thus not believe in me nor my father which is also me

    Right..:)
Who in their right mind would reject this?-
"Love one another, feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe the destitute, tend the sick, visit the prisoners, look after the poor"-Jesus of Nazareth (Mark 12:30, John 13:34, Matt 25:37-40)

    I don't know
But think it is a little weird that we need to apply our own interpretations
It seems grossly unfair that god would judge us while insisting that we use an inhherantly subjective and error prone approach in order to extract meaning from the word of god

And of course Matthew 22:36-40, which boils things down:

36 Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law? 37 Jesus declared, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.

(This is an especially tough one, because Hillary supporters must lover their Trump supporter neighbors, and vice versa...).

No. It is why there are many verisions of christianity. No one knows exactly what Jesus' words meant. Especially when related to times 2000 yrs later.

But many will make up things. All those people think they know exactly what Jesus said. Go figure.

If one man loses we all lose. The greatest treasure on this earth is a human life for every life has the potential to change the world. Every person we can help helps to change the world. We are judged by what we do not what we think so do good for others/

Ouah ! Super ! Thank you for your participations and for the intersting biblical references you gave !

I think we have quite the same intepretation, and the main meaning we found is the fraternel acts ( / in theory).
Jésus insisted on the value of the acts. Expl : " ... And Jesus said, Go and do the same." Luke 10.37

Now, does any body see a symbolism in the "cup of water" in ? :
/ " ... he who gives honour to an upright man, in the name of an upright man, will be given an upright man's reward. 42 And whoever gives to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he will not go without his reward. 41" Mat 10

And if yes, whitch one(s), please ?

In the Evangile, Jésus gave us an indication in the Beatitudes ...

So what is your point? Are you mad that God is the Almighty and wants everyone to put their faith and love into Him? Does a man or woman not want their child to put their faith and love in them? Atheists just try to destroy or mock the word of God. I wonder why? Are they at that moment choosing their sides........... heaven/hell?

Only if you believe such nonsense and as atheists don't they would not be choosing 'sides' at all ... sound like you are choosing for them, which is strange considering the reality that you have no proof either heaven or hell even exist.

How do you know that the bible is the word of God, were you there when he/she dictated it to the numerous authors of the bible, or are you just relying on the circular argument of; the bible is the word of God ... how do we know this .. because the bible tells us so.

Of course. But when they're old enough they let them go to live their own lives. Your god isn't willing to let anyone go without the threats.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Just because the parents let them go live their own lives doesn't mean they want them to stop loving them. What do you mean God doesn't let anyone go without the threats?

Of course they don't want to stop them loving them. When my 4 children reached the age of 16 I told them 'You are old enough to lead your own lives. Do it. I am always here if you need help and advice'. We've never stopped loving each other, but although I don't always agree with what they are doing I don't interfere. If they need guidance I'm there.
Apparently god made man in his image and when man supposedly 'left home' it was with threats of hell and damnation.

Threats of hell and damnation came from man. And if you treat others good, and believe Christ walked the earth, was crucified, defeated death and rose from it three days later, than you have nothing to worry about.

Threats of hell and damnation come from the Bible - supposedly gods word. Certainly Jesus the Jewish preacher walked the earth. No proof that Jesus the Christ walked the earth except, again, the Bible.

Well ! Let's see that nearer, beyond different quarrels could appear, please.
And for the ones who really believe in God, in Jésus, Do Keep the Laws and Do Stay Awake ...

Because Jésus Teached : " He who has my laws and keeps them, he it is who has love for me: and he who has love for me will be loved by my Father, and I will have love for him and will let myself be seen clearly by him." Jonh 14.21
and for His Pupils, the Good Concentration is to Understand, then to Obey, to Submit to His Commandments. Isn't it ?

Now, Here, We can Understand that Jésus gave us the Key of the upper spirit meaning about the "Thirst" and the "Hunger" :

" Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Mat 5.6

(It would be very Interesting for the Believers to Read (again) Mat 5.1-20

So, God's Will is suggested that the Ones Who Love Him, Give to Do the outsider (oppressed, meaning outcast...) Justice !

Do you agree whit that ?

Man threatened themself with hell and damnation? How did man create hell? How did man set up the rule?

You are both correct. The Bible was written by humans.

The Bible isn't to be interpreted. It means what it says.

Hey, if you want to get into it.... i would be happy
To do so. Because the fact is that the are innumerable different interpretations of the bible

We could start by having you tell me wheather jesus died before or after passover
Because the inerrant gospels tell two different mutually exclusive stories

Or you can tell me whether jesus thought we should follow jewish law, or not

Or whether you would abide by jesus instruction that when attacked, you turn the other cheak

Or whether you agree that the meek will inherit the earth. As you meekly .CHANT .USA USA USA

And how many christians avoid taking the name of god in vain

    Or abstain from divorce

Or actually try to love their refugee neighbor as themseves

Or comfortably render unto Cesar what is cesars

Or keep the sabath holy.... the sabbath being saturday btw

The 2 stories of the Nativity are ireconcilable. Matthew's quotes from the OT about refering to Jesus being born in Bethlehem have nothing to do with Jesus - but David. Going to Egypt is referring to the story of the Hebrews and the Exodus.

Luke's story ignores all we know of Roman laws and censuses and makes nonsense of the Bible explanation Luke gives for Joseph and Mary going to Jerusalem.

In Matthew it says Jesus was taken to Egypt as a tiny baby and stayed there about 2 years. In Luke it says Jesus was taken to Nazareth as a tiny baby and stayed there till he was 12.

Luke tells us that after Paul's conversion Paul went to Jerusalem. Paul tells us he didn't. It was 3 years later and only spoke to Peter and James as the others were wary of him. Luke tells us that Barnabas introduced him to the disciples there, who didn't want to know him. But Paul tells us that was 14 years later.

Facts and figures in the OT are ridiculous if you've studied fully the background and history of the times. If we are expected to believe fully what it says it belongs in the genre of SciFi.

Think about what you are writing. If you don't believe in the Christian God, then why do you care what "threats" he makes? If you really think its all make believe, then why don't you just say "No thanks" and go on with your own life?

And if someone else decides to believe in Christianity, its their choice, and their life. Why do you care if they voluntarily decide to live under those "threats"? If you really believe in an individuals right to personal freedom, you would again say "No thanks", and go about your business.
