We have to take and accept the realities at least Gaius! Europeans have to learn no to trust anymore on the USA and their safety umbrella they offered and out of which they demanded many things to have too. So they have to set back and take more on their own in military, economic and relationships inside Europe and also outside. The time for taking care of US will in the world and to step back own interests behind this US will is now also over, if the USA let their allies standing in the rain and reduce any partnership with the point of “America First”. The relationship of Europeans and USA has still several scratches, remembering the wire taping scandal of NSA when hacking allied European government etc.? Actually, I have read the constitution and the election process unfolded perfectly legal. We have a new president, a sunny day and a lot of room for optimism. Nah, Trump's a buffoon, but a Cruz presidency would be much worse. Democrats just need to regroup, and nominate a better candidate in 2020. Trump is already entering office with historically low approval ratings, with half the country despising him. He'll be very vulnerable in 2020, and the Dems need to find the right candidate to send his orange butt packing.
