YouTube star kicked off Delta Air Lines flight for speaking Arabic to his mother

This shouldn't happen. This is the result of people living in towns and being scared of other ethnic groups based on unfair and racist stereotypes. Shame on the people and shame on Delta.

A YouTube star was escorted off a Delta flight after speaking in Arabic to his mother and friend, according to accounts he posted on social media on Wednesday morning.

Adam Saleh, a 22-year-old YouTube star from New York, posted multiple videos to Twitter and Periscope showing himself being escorted from a plane by Delta flight attendants. Saleh said in the videos that after passengers heard him speaking Arabic, they “felt uncomfortable” and called flight attendants.

Saleh was on a flight from London to New York with his friend Slim Albaher, another YouTube personality, who was also escorted off the plane.

“They kicked us off the plane because a lady, because a lot of people felt uncomfortable,” Saleh said. “Delta Air Lines just kicked us out for speaking Arabic.”

Saleh told the Guardian that he was calling his mother before his flight from Heathrow on Wednesday morning.

“Usually before I take off I speak to my mom,” he said. “My mom is 66 years old and she only speaks Arabic, so I was speaking to her in Arabic – it was a 30-second phone call.”

After the phone call, he said, he was speaking with Albaher in Arabic and in English when “this lady that was sitting maybe four seats ahead of us turns around and says: ‘Oh my, you need to speak English, I’m feeling very uncomfortable.’” Saleh said after another passenger defended the two, an older man the woman was travelling with also got involved.

According to Saleh, he said: “Chuck them of the f-ing plane!” before other men stood up and called for the captain.

The woman who originally complained told the captain: “We feel uncomfortable – something happened in Germany. If they don’t leave, I leave,” according to Saleh.

Saleh said the captain then asked to speak to them outside, which is when he started filming.

Saleh, who has millions of followers subscribed to his YouTube channels, posted numerous times from an airport in London where he said Delta had asked them to wait. His latest tweet said they had been rebooked on another flight to New York with a different airline after going through the security check a second time.

Saleh’s first video shows him and Albaher being escorted off the plane by Delta employees while several passengers jeered at him as he recorded the incident. Saleh said a few passengers came to his defense. One man can be heard criticizing the flight attendants.

“I spoke to my mom, I told her I’m going to see you in six to seven hours,” he said. “Now everything is literally upside down.”

In later videos, Saleh said that the flight attendants told him and Albaher they were “too loud” and that they asked to speak to them outside the plane.

“All the racist people in there, they were like: ‘We feel uncomfortable,’ but because there were like 20 of those racist people, the captain came and he kicked us out,” he said. “I’m not letting this slide … They were screaming at us like we were terrorists.”

Delta released a statement saying “two customers” had been removed from a flight and later rebooked after “a disturbance in the cabin resulted in more than 20 customers expressing their discomfort”.

“We’re conducting a full review to understand what transpired,” the statement read. “We are taking allegations of discrimination very seriously; our culture requires treating others with respect.”

In a statement, London’s Metropolitan police said they were called to Heathrow around 11am, “after two passengers were removed from a plane by crew at Heathrow Airport.

“Officers attended and the passengers were escorted to the terminal where they were assisted with making alternative travel arrangements.
“They were not arrested and no offences were disclosed.”

 

Saleh is known for orchestrating pranks in his YouTube videos. He recently created a video that appeared to show himself traveling from Melbourne to Sydney inside a suitcase in the plane’s baggage hold. The airline later said that Saleh had sat in a regular seat on the flight and that travelling via the baggage section would have been impossible.

Saleh and a colleague admitted that another video was exaggerated after it went viral and its authenticity was questioned. The 2014 video appeared to show a New York police officer intervening in an argument when the Muslim men wore “cultural clothing” but ignoring the same men when they were dressed in T-shirts and jeans. Saleh later said the video was a “dramatization of previous events that occurred with us in our traditional clothing while filming in NYC”.

 

This clearly isn't a prank. He was literally kicked off the flight. Delta even said so.

 

I'm curious as to how this unfolds. I'm wondering if he said some things in Arabic and someone understood him, and he thought he could get away with a terrorist joke.

 

He was telling a terrorist joke to his mother? Not bloody likely.

 

It's right to be cautious. Hearing Arabic makes me nervous in airports.

 

I'm just saying, it's possible someone else spoke Arabic near by and possibly misunderstood, or heard something iffy. I don't think we have all the facts.

The video doesn't document that merely speaking Arabic is why he was kicked off the airplane. His loud angry militancy combined with speaking Arabic seems what likely happened.

Talking angrily and loudly at other passengers calling them "racists" will get you kicked of an airliner regardless of what language you are speaking. The guy is a liar and malcontent who started conflict with others loudly and rightly got kicked off.

 

The article says he was "talking too loud" as the reason.

He's also an idiot as what language a person speaks doesn't not define "race" - for which like an idiot he was ranting that people on the plane are "racists."

 

It seems this story was "produced" for establishment tools to run around with and show how racist/sexist/bigots Americans are. They seem to be baiting Jihadist types to strike. If it's found that America and Saudi Arabia are running ISIS, I hope some people get locked up for aiding and abetting terrorist.

 

You don't need to create a video to do that. Pretty much everyone outside of the US thinks Americans are racist.

He has a history of getting kicked off a flight for speaking Arabic? No I pretty sure this is the first time for him.

 

It is a prank if you board an airliner and cause so much loud conflict once on board with other passengers you will get kicked off.

NOTABLY he does NOT show any video of his behavior PRIOR to his being told to leave the airliner. THAT tells the story, since he videos events for YouTube and has admitted he has concocted fake events in the past.

 

So why wait for facts just assume racism.

It is AMAZING how many people think that "race" means what language a person speaks.

I suppose what a person wears, the color of their hair and what kind of car they drive also define a person's "race."

 

When a bunch of third world throw backs that through gay people off roofs and treat women like slaves call you racist, it's meaningless. So when some through back calls Americans racist, I take it with a grain of salt. I'm sure the person throwing the insults is far worse of a person then the Americans he/she is demonizing.


What's sad are the establishment tools who hold these third worlders up as some kind of rule models for the rest of us.
