In 2011 there was something that is known as "The Kentucky Case" in which two Iraqis in Kentucky were arrested and faced federal charges for terrorism. People started freaking out and the Obama administration was like "Okay two things, one we are going to reexamine the records of 58,000 Iraqis who are now in The United States and we're going to impose new and more extensive background checks on Iraqi refugees." And so if you look at the numbers, yes there was a massive slow down in the number of iraqi refugees who were allowed in the country. But if you look on record there is no month where Iraqi refugees were not allowed into the country, there was just a slow down. In 2010, 18,251 Iraqi refugees arrived, in 2011 that number went down to 6,339 and in 2012 it went back up to 16,369. So it slowed down to a crawl but it was never officially stopped and it was only for refugees and not citizens as is the case here. Hopefully that explains that this is a different situtation and you can thus not use the Obama argument.

As if ISIS or any other terror org. needs this in order to recruit. I guess for the past 8 years their numbers were falling because Obama did everything right? Please...

First, this is not a Muslim ban. (This may have been mentioned already, but I didn't go through every post so I apologize if it has)

Second, ISIS et al, just makes stuff up as they go along. Much like the left is doing by calling this a "Muslim ban". So what makes people think that this will do anything to help their cause?

Third, believing what some terrorists living in caves and other 3rd world crapholes say is akin to me listening to my 4yr old talk about the "Wizard that lost her shoes".

    Grow up people...

Sorry but it does. If it blocks one terrorist, its a success. Then again I care about my fellow Americans being killed like the boy in boston who was mutilated beyond recognition. If only obama had heeded the warnings about the tsarnaev brothers, people would still be alive and people would still have their eyesight, and limbs.

You must be talking about the Catholic Irish friend who invited my Protestant father to a Knights of Columbus meeting where the Irish danced on the British flag. What is important, here they could be friends regardless of religion, but there in your country, there was an Established Church:

“A dense population, in extreme distress, inhabit an island where there is an Established Church, which is not their Church, and a territorial aristocracy the richest of whom live in foreign capitals. Thus you have a starving population, an absentee aristocracy, and an alien Church; and in addition the weakest executive in the world. That is the Irish Question.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_question

The problem was all yours. We are just trying to ban those that would establish religion by force, but obviously trying to prevent an establishment does not go over with your kind.

Best thing is, with Mathis in control of the military, and a larger radical Islamic state to target, he wont kill nearly as many civilians and kids as Obama did. Probably miss the hospitals and schools Obama targeted so much that taught muslim girls.

Nice to see that you ignore that many of them have WESTERN and this includes US master degrees of science and economic too and that you focus only on their sick version of Islam without seeing more!

    - - - Updated - - -

Really? And why did not a single of the terrorists of last attacks come form one of these countries ... and why are these countries they are coming from not on list? Why is it possible for any Pakistani to enter the US in general and why is Pakistan not on list?

    - - - Updated - - -

And you fail to see many things and truth ... including that the Nazi cancer is same way milling around as this Islamist scum cancer.

Wait, what? I am providing you with statistics and data. Islamic extremism is a real problem and Islam in its current form is a problem as well, the religion needs to be reformed. It does not fit in with the rest of the world in its current state, why are you ignoring that very real problem? I can point you towards a thread I started regarding failed integration and the problems it causes in Dutch schools.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/curre...ntegration-affecting-schools-netherlands.html

Anyway, you do not have to cling to your position. Do not fall for the "Backfire Fire Effect" or the "Persecution Complex." Perhaps my tone is too extreme and that is why you cling to your believes, but because we have been ignored for so long, I have gotten to the point where I am now. We need people like you to realise what is going on, that will only help the situation so that we can all come up with a solution.

Of course is ISIS spreading propaganda around like mad ... as many others trolls do too ... and of course I believe this ISIS idiots nothing.

if you want to see the real truth behind this superfluous and ridiculous ban, then you have to do following which maybe convince you then:

    01)
Ask and answer yourself why not a single country is on this list from where the terrorists of last attacks of last 5 years are from!
    02)
Ask and answer yourself why on this list are particularly since decades more hostile countries named on only and not a single one where the governing regime (I name them so, because at non of them is any democratic elected government in power) and undisputable not only few terrorists are coming from!
    03)
Ask and answer yourself who is ISIS in detail by pure facts! You will see and get the answer that they are ONLY of the Sunni confession of Islam and that they fight the rest as wrong believers, not better as Christians, Jews, Hindu etc.
Out of this comes then the next question you have to ask and answer yourself, because why the hack then Iran is on the list if against ISIS directed, because Iran = Shiite and not Sunni ... and who is fighting ISIS like made out of internal Islamic religious dispute in Syria and Iraq again? Iran!

I can go on with further things, but these 3 things alone must show you that the real background of this ban has nothing to do for what it is told to be! I, you and everyone can now speculate why then ... but the pure fact that Afghanistan = home of Taliban and many Al Qaeda is not on this list, must make you minimum skeptic ... or are these to scum groups suddenly no enemy anymore?

and they (and you) would of course not lie about this, right? citizens or refugees, who needs any of the Muz? What do we gain and why should we risk having ANY of them here, hmm?

if your want to go so deep into the religion of 2 billion people on this planet, then please start or minimum don't forget to investigate the reason why since last century no reform of Islamic states is done and why not a single one has any sort of democracy which is worth to name so ... but not only few are ally and friend of the USA.

Interesting is that of these 16 countries are how many close friend and ally of the USA too ... and not on this list named, but many of the terrorists do come from them in origin.

The actions that countries such as The United States are not relevant to this current discussion and the point that I am making. There is something wrong with the religion, it needs to be reformed at the very least. Going off-topic is not something I want to do even though I am aware of what has happened to countries like Afghanistan and Iran whom were both on the path of great reforms.

I am against immigrants and believe they need to go back to their own countries because certain cultures do not mix. You are German and I am Dutch, tons of Germans come to my country and tons of Dutch people go to your country, we get along great. We have a lot in common and we are both Germanic and Western European. If you take a Turkish Muslim and try to do the same thing with a German or a Dutch person it just doesn't work, people need to realise that. This doesn't mean that we can't all get along, but this idea of a multi-cultural society is flawed and it has failed.

You can still believe different sure, that is one thing, but when we speak about Religion and Islam in general you need to realise the many problems that it has. The religion needs to be reformed and if that doesn't happen it needs to be banned in Western Nations. I presented you with statistics and data and even a very recent study that is causing an uproar in The Netherlands as we speak. I implore you to listen, you don't need to defend yourself or your believes. I just need you to realise that there is a problem.

    - - - Updated - - -

This is not a general ban of Muslims, otherwise they would be included too. The Obama administration did make this list, so Trump used that list for whatever reasons. I disagree with what he did, he should have included all of the Muslim countries in my opinion.

ISIS leader is left wing? Since when?

And as so often now written ... why is non of the terrorists who had done the attacks of last 5 years coming from one of these banned countries, if ban is done to make America safer?

Correct is that they never had any reform of their religion as Christians had and that this has much influence. Look on difference between old thinking Catholics who still believe the overaged nonsense the Vatikan told and the Protestant part…

You are talking here about failed integration politics at least and that they failed is correct. But the blaming who is guilty is no one way ticket and goes into both direction. On the other hand I know many Turkish people who are normal as you and me too in all circumstances of life. Problem is often that if they started to take religion in a bigger part into their life, then society problems start … but this is also given with other religions including Christians too at least … maybe lesser deep.

Who shall and can do this undoubtful necessary reformation at least, when we in the West do our best that those overaged stubborn Islamist people stay in power, because being our allies and friends.
Look for example on these Muslim women in Saudi Arabia who are rebelling against the restrictions as for example not being allowed to drive a car. Do we, do our governments or simply does our society back and help them with their normal will for changes like this? No! We back the Royal Family further which is so deeply against any reformation of anything, because they are our allies!

But this is the point … for whatever reason it was done, for sure not for what it is told to be.

I am against all forms of extermism, I am an Atheist and I do not approve of Christians such as say, the Westboro Baptist Church. It just happens to be so that Muslims are far more prone to extremism and radicalised thinking and world views, they also commit far more terrorist attacks. Islam in its current form is a cancer on this earth.

The problem is that looking at the good ones doesn't help, we need to look at the bad apples and we need to pit the good ones against the bad. Muslims use the "Not a Scotsman theory" a lot, they do not adress the problem at all. Certain cultures do not mix, that's just the way it is. That only gets worse when you throw in a religion like Islam into the mix.

That is a double edged sword. Sixteen Muslim countries banning Isreali citizens from entering, nobody is protesting that. Muslims are protrayed as victims and any critcism of Islam is portrayed as Islamophobia. The religion is a cancer on the world and the attitude of many people makes it far worse. If it was up to me we'd go in with heavy force and kill any and all Muslim males who believe that women are not equal and who resist the Western values and believes. We are however talking about religion and not how countries affect the problems in the world.

I’m atheist is too … and even I’m for sure no communist, but it was Lenin who told that religion is opium of the people, or not?

In the goods control one would rather only leave the good apples in or even let it and the bad to sort out and send back to the sender.
Would be a measure ... or not?

And how many of these 16 Muslim countries are a close friend and ally of the USA and / or of someone of us in Europe?
So had this ban of Israel any influence on our relations to them until now?
And we are talking about countries too, because many of them are combined with religion.

For the same reason we dont block people from the confederate army any more. Do you need me to explain what that means or does the concept still give you trouble?

Is ISIS there? Why did obama start wars in these areas on the list, or put them on the state sponsored terrorism list? We've not had many terrorists attacks, overall. It's unlikely about attacks on US soil.

I'm sorry I couldn't decipher this. Why are there not more hostile countries? In what way? Breeding hostile terrorism in Islam that threatens multiple countries or just ones that threaten direct conflict with the US? I think the overall goal for the last 20 years has been islamic based threats to the world, and particularly US allies.

    OK...

Iran was already on the State Sponsored Terrorism list. Just like Sudan and Syria.

IMO, those who fight the Syrian regime are convenience allies for ISIL. That means Israel, on the terrain, and Saudi Arabia, in their minds. But are firm (hrmm) US allies.

Man, the efforts that are deployed to ignore the living room's elephant...

Any form of extremism is a cancer not only in the world but in their users' minds. You are ready to die for your cause? I can respect that. But if you are ready to kill for your cause, you are rotten inside and the enemy, bro.

That illness that affects these fools is already there, inside you. It's people like that who ends up mass murdering - certainly not the moderates who just happens to believe peacefully in their respective fairy tales.

I am pretty sure you can find an even worse exemple as an excuse to forsake the ideals that this white, western civilisation you seem to love so much once stood for. Hey, they put journalists in Jail in Backwardistan, so I guess it gives us the right to do the same, right?

If there is indeed a clash of civilisation, people like you makes me think that we already lost it.

    Who cares?

What is shameful ignorance is not understanding that ISIS will never like America no matter what America does. ISIS hates America, it has always hated America, it will always hate America.

All the attacks on America from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the 2000 attack on the USS Cole, 9/11, Fort Hood, and all the rest right up to the recent Ohio State attack were all done when there was no immigration ban.

Only a fool believes this immigration issue is going to motivate terrorists.

The world will be much better off without religion, especially Islam. Fortunately for us, the world is turning more and more Atheist, especially in Europe. As for the immigrants, I would prefer to send all of them back to the country they came from, but I can settle for the majority. I believe that I gave you a link to a thread I posted with recent statistics and information on the immigrant situation in my country and how it affects our schools, you should check it out.

Anyway, the fact of the matter remains that Islam is the problem and that all these refugees/immigrant that are coming here are ruining our counties. As a German you yourself should have understood that by now, after all the things they have done in your country. A good start to fix the problem is to immidiately deport any and all criminals of a foreign origin, deport any and all foreigners who do not have a good grasp on the language after having been here for two/three years. I also want to deport any and all foreigners whom can not let go off their own culture/country. (Look at the Turks who go out with big Turkish flags and portraits of Erdogan.) They need to be deported back to their own countries right away. Last but not least, either reform Islam or forbid it and simply deport anyone that does not want to abide by the standards noted above.

I do not agree with what America and/or other countries are doing in the world regarding the supporting of regimes just for the sake of them being favourable towards you. That however has nothing to do with the behaviour that Muslims express. In countries like Morroco, I believe that 80 -90% of Muslim men think a woman is always supposed to listen to her man, and that it is okay to hit her if she does not obey. There is even a video that instructs Muslims how to hit their wives. Those people need to be shot.
