Donald Trump has accused former President Obama of ordering a wiretap of his phonelines at Trump Tower.

Trump has provided ZERO evidence for this accusation.

The accusation came from a serious of early morning Twitter posts, and may simply be based on an article on Breitbart that has no evidence and no support.

Several former President Obama administration officials have totally denied the accusation.

To date, Trump has provided no evidence for these claims and has not attempted to provide any evidence.

I certainly have no information on this, but I can apply logic. IF the claim was true, Trump would be in prison, so I call B.S.

Nixon denied the Watergate break-in too until they threatened to impeach him and he resigned. It's too late to impeach Obama sadly but at least he'll have to live with his legacy of being just another petty politician.

Trump now OWES it to the American people to provide proof for these claims, or retract them.

If these charges are not true, and are baseless, Trump has crossed the line into paranoid & dangerous accusations.

Trump is a smart man. Smart enough to assure he had a security crew that would have found this quickly. You are no longer talking about Sessions, Pence's AOL, or the Russians. Trump is a smart man.

He became president without providing any evidence he would be competent. Why would his sycophants demand evidence for anything at this point?

I think we can ALL agree that such an inflammatory charge against a former President MUST be backed up by hard evidence.

And if not, Trump must retract this claim and appologize to President Obama.

Trump doesn't have to do anything. He can lie, cheat, steal, grab women's (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*), and tell other men its ok to call his daughter a piece of ass. Rules don't apply to him. How can the people who voted for him gag him down is beyond my understanding. Ugh!

Such an inflammatory charge as treason by Trump colluding with the Russians should be backed up by hard evidence! Where is it?

I like how Trump does not seem to know how this stuff works.

The FBI was granted a warrant to tap Trump's campaign phones not Obama.

It means a judge thought there was enough probable cause to do so.

Die hard Trump supporters will use this as a reason to attack Obama and support claims he was trying to take over America or similar.

You will see more and more stuff like this leaked. The reason it has been a build up is the leakers are trying to protect sources and methods and still ensure an public investigation is done.

The longer the leaks go unheeded the more detailed the information leaked in the future will be.

What saddens me an investigation needs to be done regardless and yet people are fighting against one or want just a one sided investigation. With the focus being on either Obama or Trump.

The American people have a right to a thorough investigation looking into both Obama and Trump in regards to this matter. It is either under the Obama administration action was taken to subvert a political opponent or the actions taken were legitimate and legal to protect the US from a foreign power trying to subvert our countries election to gain an advantage and put someone more favorable to their global agenda in office.

So foolish and so typically Trump. He should have controlled himself until he had some hard evidence.

Trump makes all sorts of accusations, boasts, brags, lies, promises with no evidence, no proof, and no facts to back any of that crap up.

Obama spokesperson denies Trump's claim former president ordered wire-tapping, calls accusation 'false'!

President Donald Trump on Saturday leveled an extraordinary accusation against his predecessor, that Barack Obama ordered surveillance on his residence at New York's Trump Tower at the height of the contested 2016 general election, a claim that an aide to the former president flatly rejected.

Wire Tapping Scandal Enveloping Former Administration?

I never liked what Obama was doing with FISA, Wiretapping, the surveillance of reporters. We need to get to the bottom of this!

looks like there was some reasonable concerns that justified the wiretap warrant being issued:

In classified sessions in August and September, intelligence officials also briefed congressional leaders on the possibility of financial ties between Russians and people connected to Mr. Trump. They focused particular attention on what cyberexperts said appeared to be a mysterious computer back channel between the Trump Organization and the Alfa Bank, which is one of Russia’s biggest banks and whose owners have longstanding ties to Mr. Putin.

F.B.I. officials spent weeks examining computer data showing an odd stream of activity to a Trump Organization server and Alfa Bank. Computer logs obtained by The New York Times show that two servers at Alfa Bank sent more than 2,700 “look-up” messages — a first step for one system’s computers to talk to another — to a Trump-connected server beginning in the spring. But the F.B.I. ultimately concluded that there could be an innocuous explanation, like a marketing email or spam, for the computer contacts.

The most serious part of the F.B.I.’s investigation has focused on the computer hacks that the Obama administration now formally blames on Russia. That investigation also involves numerous officials from the intelligence agencies. Investigators, the officials said, have become increasingly confident, based on the evidence they have uncovered, that Russia’s direct goal is not to support the election of Mr. Trump, as many Democrats have asserted, but rather to disrupt the integrity of the political system and undermine America’s standing in the world more broadly.

The hacking, they said, reflected an intensification of spy-versus-spy operations that never entirely abated after the Cold War but that have become more aggressive in recent years as relations with Mr. Putin’s Russia have soured.

A senior intelligence official, who like the others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a continuing national security investigation, said the Russians had become adept at exploiting computer vulnerabilities created by the relative openness of and reliance on the internet. Election officials in several states have reported what appeared to be cyberintrusions from Russia, and while many doubt that an Election Day hack could alter the outcome of the election, the F.B.I. agencies across the government are on alert for potential disruptions that could wreak havoc with the voting process itself.

Like William Jefferson Clinton, he can be indicted and tried in a court of law. There are no statute of limitations and that includes any criminal acts committed by a former president while in office.
